Their professional treatments save many lives, and mine was one of… them. AlterNativa is a center staffed by a team of highly professional specialists who provide individual and group therapies integrated with various activities, all delivered with great quality and experience. It's worth… noting that it's the only center in Miami that offers this service in Spanish. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone needing their services in Spanish.

This is an amazing treatment center for treatment of mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. The staff is compassionate, hardworking, and extremely accommodating. Staff will go above and beyond for their… “patients” that are treated like family and recovery is 100% possible if you do your part. I’d totally recommend this place for people who want to improve their lives, make better choices, or simply learn to connect with yourself again. There’s a holistic approach to treatment where you can attend yoga classes, tai-chi lessons, art therapy sessions, group/individual therapy, informative talks/discussions, and music therapy. Overall a great place that can definitely feel intimidating or controlling at first but it all makes sense once you understand that they are only trying to make you feel better.

Alternativa is more than just a center; for me and my family, who have suffered from addiction for years, it became a safe space, a place of hope and constant support. It's unlike any other center! It may require some… effort in terms of acceptance, trust at the beginning, time—which is scarce in this hectic society—and, of course, finances. But all of that is worth every penny when the results and experiences lead to moments of unity, forgiveness, and learning. Not every experience has a happy ending, but the journey is one of support, respect, and growth for those of us who dare to fully participate in the process.
