Apalachee Center Inc – Tallahassee (2634-J Capital Circle NE) Reviews and Ratings
Treated at Apalachee Center Inc, or close to a patient who was? Your review can tell future patients what a brochure cannot: how the program felt from the inside.
I wasn't an in-patient but I wasn't coming from a great place. I had just moved here and I'm blown away by the support this place has given me. I might not have been around for this review with them. Not all the docs… are awesome and I have an issue with 15 minute psych appointments but that's the systems fault not theirs. But overall this place is amazing with people working hard to help their community and people in need. Also use their pharmacy, the chain store pharmacies rob us blind. A full hearted thank you to all who work here.
went here twice in 2020 and it actually traumatized me. The medicine they gave me I was allergic to and they double my dose on the second day and it made me trip out. Told me I couldn’t leave unless I took it so I did.… Then told me on day 3 (72 hr baker act) that they were going to hold me longer than necessary because my dad didn’t want me home (I was 17) Also the kids floor at the time was on the same floor as the pedophiles that they made us walk by for outside time. Also outside area is tiny tiny and all brick/cement
I am absolutely horrified by the way Apalachee Center treats its patients. I called to report something I witnessed this morning (I don’t want to share many details in respect for the patient) but I will say I had… someone wander in to my workplace asking to use the phone so they could call someone to pick them up after telling me no one had allowed them to contact anyone to take them home. They asked for something to eat because they had not been given breakfast before being released. During my call to report this, I was met with extreme hostility and rudeness, and denial of any of this happening. These are people in crisis, they need to be treated with respect and dignity, and the city of Tallahassee needs to make some serious changes to protect our community. I’m extremely disappointed looking at the reviews, it seems as though this establishment has a number of different issues and yet no changes have been made.
I can't get ahold of these people at all. I'm going to run out of my medication and go through withdrawal AGAIN because making an appointment here is impossible. I can't simply go there because i work full time and they… close after I'm off and on weekends. I've been calling every day to confirm that my appointment is virtual, since i never got a link, and i've been sent to voicemail each time.
The waiting times so horrible I spent Over 10 hours in that room. All because they couldn't "find a room" for a place that has MANY rooms, Staff for the adolescence treating them unfairly (yelling, cursing, etc) and I am… a key victim of that if you love your family and your kids do not bring them here to have the expectation to get better with their mental health. There are so many better places than this center and I'm sure your kids will appreciate not coming To this place.
Made an appointment at 2, when I went in the girl in the office told me I had to wait until 3? Because my appointment was at 2, I didn’t have time to unexpectedly wait another hour and had to leave. The girl at the… front with the glasses seemed really confused. No one answers the phone, to the point that I ran out of meds they prescribed.
HORRIBLE PEOPLE ! doing the devils work! Last night they turned Morgan Manuel away and called the police on him and he got a DUI for driving home. He drove up to the apalachee center ter for HELP and they refused him.… YOU ALL ARE GOING TO PAY
A waist would not sign my return to work form
This place is horrible I was targeted at this location and they didn't do much of anything to assist me in my circumstance I was sent here 18 times in 6 years each time they had to release me clearly this is part of a… larger issue as it relates to public safety this place is abused to send anybody the state finds as a issue no psychological assistance can be found here the patients take care of the patients socially/psychologically this place truly does require investigations
So after getting a referral here because I am a homeless veteran with no private insurance. After going on a big spiel immediately went into how much money I had. Or how was I going to pay for anything when we haven’t… even began to discuss any type of mental health plan. Mind you I have never visited this place. This was my first interaction via a video conference. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and uncaring staff and employees. Every negative review they have on here is probably far worse than they let on. If you care about your loved ones, please keep them far away from this place.
An absolute waste of resources. If you want help for yourself or a friend/family member, seek out help from one of the hospitals in town.
Went there for help with suicide and felt like a prisoner. They didn’t help me at all even made my condition worse which was the consistent answer I got from 1/3 of every one there. If you want to feel like your in jail… and done want help this is the hospital for you.
Unprofessional and uneducated staff. Most staff we encountered were confused about their duties.
Whatever a sternum rub is? It’s illegal for Nurse Brandy to perform on a wide awake human being. Just because I had not wanted to do what she told me to do doesn’t mean to cause an attempted assault and harm on me!!… This place should be shut down!!
DO NOT go here if you are having a crisis or just need some support/TLC/ or group therapy. everybody is overworked and they are understaffed-- group wasn't done once when i was admitted and i was constantly… overstimulating from being with schizophrenic patients who caused lots of disruptions and it ultimately affected my mental health worse being there. this place is a last resort option
You deserve 0 stars!
I highly recommend Apalachee to anyone struggling with mental health problems. I've been receiving therapy from Apalachee Center for years. They provided me with a VERY qualified professional therapist by the name of… Sri Kothur. I've been doing therapy with Sri for over a year. Every time I speak with Sri, I gain critical insights about tailoring cognitive behavioral therapy methods to my specific personal mental health struggles. Before I received help from Apalachee, seemingly uncontrollable emotional episodes were ruining my life. Apalachee Center helped me understand why I struggle and they made sure I received the assistance I needed to begin the LONG journey of recovery.

GETS YOU HOOKED AND LEAVE YOU COOKED HORRIBLE SERVICES APALACHEE CENTER IS A CONCERN FOR MENTAL HEALTH SAFETY
I rather go to TMH behavioral health center then here because the doctor from inpatient isn’t really a good doctor her name is Dr. Jamie. I don’t think she barely talks to the patient. She only ask you how are you… doing? How do you feel? Do you have thoughts of suicide and that’s it and other doctors Are OK sure they asked the same question but they don’t just let you go like that. They actually give you advices and that’s all but that’s good but Dr. Jamie does the opposite Dr. Jamie always seem frustrated. She wants to do things quickly during treatment team and here’s the part that I don’t get whenever a 12 hours from CRF ends. You still don’t see the doctor so I spent the whole day and the whole night until the next day and apparently they changed the rules. You cannot take a nap downstairs in CRF anymore like I can’t even take a little nap it’s because time flies by faster if you sleep downstairs instead of you waiting there until you go upstairs imagine you going through a lot and you want to go to sleep just for a couple hours you can’t because apparently it’s the rules if you want to go to sleep, you have to sleep while sitting down in the waiting room and here’s the part that really gets me whenever you start crying they don’t even say are you OK or nothing while you are downstairs only the beach unit does the opposite because a beach unit the Staff from upstairs ask you are you OK because they actually care
When I went here I SWEAR nobody knew anything about anything. They lost/didn’t give me medication that a doctor assigned to me for terrible period cramps, they did not give me the clothes that my mom brought me,… horrible management, one of the psychiatrist doesn’t let kids off on weekends because she doesn’t “trust” the other psychiatrist to do so, whatever that means. IT MADE WORSE! some of the nurses have an attitude and it’s clear they don’t want to be there, staff cusses around kids, they are NOT professional whatsoever, if I could give this place a ZERO, I would!
Took my aunt to get meds refilled. Waited over 2 hours to be told she wasn't going to see a doctor. But they would make her an appointment. Why couldn't they told us that before we waited for over 2 hours?
