Arbour Counseling Services – Norwell Detox and Rehab Services

Arbour Counseling Services – Norwell delivers partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. Ask whether family can be involved and at what stage. Establishing what happens after the program ends is worth doing early.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask what happens if the recommended level of care is not available immediately. Anyone can ask what a typical week looks like before starting.

Been going here for over a year. Seen two different therapists and they were both great. I was also in the PHP and IOP and most of the counselors were so kind and helpful. My experience with medication here has been… very poor. When I walked in for my first appointment with the psychiatrist there were two students already in there. I was not informed of this beforehand. I was asked if it was okay but at that point I felt uncomfortable saying no. So I went over my entire life story in front of 3 people and it was incredibly anxiety inducing. This was a completely inappropriate way to handle this. Additionally she gives me 1 or ZERO refills at every appointment. I have been on 3 these meds for almost a decade with only little tweaks here and there so there is absolutely no need for me to be seeing a psychiatrist every month for 5-10 minutes JUST for refills. At one point I was running low on meds (about a week’s worth left) so I called to get a refill. You have to leave a voicemail. I left one on Monday, received no response or refill so I called back and left another message on Wednesday. They finally called me back Thursday afternoon and informed me that I will not be getting a refill because I had not seen the psychiatrist in a couple months. The only available appointment was an entire week away. By that time I would be out of meds for several days. Keep in mind I am not on anything narcotic or addictive and these are meds I have been on for almost a decade. I called my PCP’s office an hour later, who I haven’t seen since my physical a year ago, and they prescribed me the meds immediately no problem whatsoever. I will not be returning to this practice. They will let you run out of meds because money is more important to them than patient care.

The clinicians are all very nice. However... I came to the program partly because I needed access to my Adderall after I lost my job and my old prescriber didn't take Mass Health. I went through the entire intake… process at Arbour and then did two days in the PHP before they finally deigned to mention that they don't prescribe, or refill scripts for, controlled substances. This wasn't mentioned on their website that I can find, either. Overall, it was a waste of my time and gas money.

I was immediately impressed by how fair, professional, and respectful the process felt. The staff listened with genuine care, offered thoughtful feedback, and made me feel truly valued. It wasn’t about following a rigid… plan, but about providing what was most helpful for my situation. 🌱 Our minds need care too. Just like our bodies can catch a cold, our minds can also go through challenging times. That’s why I believe mental health check-ups and self-care are so important, and I hope more people will embrace this. The world would be a kinder and better place for it. Many people work hard to stay physically fit. Our mental health deserves the same care. Learning about it should be for everyone. The more we know, the better we can care for ourselves and those we love. 💛

This place is the absolute best. It is a place with a judgement free zone where you can learn about yourself and coping techniques to help you with your journey. All of the counselors and interns are top notch. I have… experienced a time in my life where traditional one a week counseling wasn’t enough but I knew I didn’t need hospitalization full time. I was referred to Arbour Counseling in Norwell for the Partial Hospitalization Program that offers a 4 week program that consists of 2 weeks of full time 9-3 and 2 weeks 1/2 days 9-12:15 This is a group setting where you only have to say your if want or you can participate in the groups as much as you want. I have learned so much about myself and have grown mentally with Arbour. The people in the groups have also been a big help as they may just offer a smile, a laugh or cried with you or shared some of their story as well. You become very comfortable right away. I will never forget the people that have touched my life. Arbour Counseling offers the best and is worth the time..

Get in with a knowledgeable counselor and trust the process. If you do the work you will piece yourself back together. You will come out a better version of you. It works if you let it. The key is a knowledgeable… counselor.

I just graduated from the adult PHP today after 5 weeks of treatment. I arrived to the program extremely depressed and unsure if I was in the right place. Turns out I was. Through group therapy I learned how to improve… my communication, express myself, utilize coping skills, face issues I’ve been ignoring for years, and so much more. I always felt safe and supported by the staff and my peers. When a new, stressful circumstance came to the surface in my life, my case managers supported me by checking in with me more frequently. Shout outs to Megan, Amanda, Cindy, Rachel, Jane, Kiki, and Caroline! All the staff are excellent, and I am forever grateful. Improved mental health is possible through putting in the work and trusting the process. Thank you Arbour 🧡

I recently finished my PHP program with Arbour and I couldn’t be happier! My CM was Kayla and speaking with her was super easy, comfortable and she never made me “feel” crazy but instead supported and cared for! My… group was AMAZING & I was so grateful to have met the people I did!! All my groups were via zoom which made it very easy. If there is ANYTHING I learned is this: Expressive Therapy is a 100% win in my book! Drawing, writing, expressing through art made me cure the inner little girl whose been struggling all her life with trauma. Coping skills- not just your typical scream in a pillow and count down from ten, genuinely how to help yourself by walking away, listening to how you speak to yourself as well as others, reading vs scrolling, audio books & coloring! My temper does not fire up to a 100 as it did previously and getting control over my negative self image and healing my inner little girl was my goal and Arbour made it possible! I wanted to shout out Kayla, Paige, Veronica, Krysta-lyn, and Alyssa for all their support, great ideas and creative groups they did! Between art & music life has become so much better to handle. You all do one heck of a job and I couldn’t have asked for a better team! Thank you all so much to helping me tackle my trauma and PTSD! 🩵
