I was/am struggling with mental health had a suicidal thought/attempt July 29 2026 the own hospital sent me to this location set the appointment up in order to get better. Staff (receptionist) one of them is super kind… and lovely knew it was my first time there or figured and made me feel welcomed the place itself looked lovely which made me want to see a therapist since im not really a believer in one, yet still gave it a try, had my "take in" by Wendy and that was July 31 2026 its now Sep 13 2026 have they even reached to contact me for a first session with a therapist? NO They first give you the excuse or "care" that they will find a therapist of your preference and time i said im available only Monday and Friday i like in person but wouldn't mind on the phone just not virtual they agreed said they will reach out as soon as they find one its been 2months i haven't seen anything i had to call them last month to see if they were still "looking" my mental health got worse for the first time i wanted to try therapy found a lovely environment only to be disappointed by the despicable care they give. My own doctor had to call did they answer? NO did they give call back? NO my own doctor had to go her way to see how she can help since after all she's not a d@mn therapist but Jesus lord i wouldn't even give it a star if it wasn't for that lovely receptionist because other than her this place could not give a f or at least thats how they did with me.

genuinely go anywhere else or see no one at all, wouldnt be worst then Athena, on hold for hrs, incorrect scheduling, horrible psychiatrist if im being honest, theyll suject and offer all the resources and help in the… world and not actually do any of it or it stays its a forever purgatory, im so tired of Althena im exhausted and i hope if anyone else if looking for help let that not be Athena

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Over the course of my care, I was repeatedly misdiagnosed by multiple therapists, which created confusion instead of clarity during periods when I genuinely needed support. It was only after finally… undergoing a proper psychiatric screening with my last therapist that I received what I believe was the correct diagnosis. That process made it painfully clear how much time had been lost due to inconsistent and inadequate care. Unfortunately, even after that, my experience continued to decline. My last therapist falsely documented issues with my attendance, despite my efforts to remain engaged in treatment, and I was ultimately barred from receiving services for 90 days. Being cut off from mental health support after finally making progress felt incredibly dismissive and destabilizing. Another major issue I experienced was the high turnover rate among therapists. There was very little continuity of care, and just as I began to build rapport with one provider, they would often leave or be replaced. That lack of stability made it difficult to establish trust or any long-term therapeutic progress. The scheduling process overall was also disorganized, with inconsistent communication and little consideration for clients balancing work, parenting, school, or crisis situations. Mental health care should feel stabilizing, not like another layer of stress you have to constantly manage. One of the most concerning aspects for me was the lack of diversity and cultural competency among providers. As a Black woman navigating complex personal and family challenges, I often felt misunderstood rather than supported. Nuance matters in mental health care. Culture matters. Lived experience matters. When providers lack awareness in those areas, the impact on patients can be significant. I hope Athena Psych takes meaningful steps toward improving provider stability, accountability, increasing diversity within their staff, and creating a more thoughtful, trauma-informed, and client-centered experience. People seeking therapy are often at vulnerable points in their lives and deserve care that is both competent and compassionate. Update - I called the number which was a standard call operator and no one had a clue what i was talking about. Surface level crisis management tactic . . . disgraceful and disrespectful.

Personally, the person helping me with therapy is very professional, and if you need help and can find this company, it's the best. In my experience, I highly recommend it. The place is clean.
