BayCare Behavioral Health – Clearwater Detox and Rehab Services

BayCare Behavioral Health – Clearwater is listed as running intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

BayCare Behavioral Health – Clearwater Address, Location and Contact Information

1106 Druid Road South, Clearwater, Florida, 33756 is the address held. The city lies within Pinellas County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. How someone gets there matters more than it sounds: travel is one of the commonest reasons a course of treatment stops partway.

Phone ahead about parking, access and what the first appointment covers. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

I went here and saw Catherine Meadors probably about a year ago for a 6 month program. During this time she helped me get through things I didn't even realize I needed. But most importantly, what she taught me stuck… with me to even now, leading me to think about her today. I truthfully look through a different lens now and credit her for that. If you're looking for a great teen therapist I would without a doubt go here, unless you're not ready to dig deep, because she certainly is!

Dhawan, Sapna MD is the most dismissive, abhorrent, arrogant, unhelpful, unwelcoming, disrespectful provider I have ever been seen by. I am 25 weeks pregnant and left her office crying because of the way she treated me.… She should be absolutely ashamed. I could not recommend her or this office any less. I am disgusted.

Genuinely THEE worst experience I have ever had. I scheduled an hour long psych consult and was in and out of the building in less than 30 minutes. Dr. Dhawan was unwelcoming and generally seemed extremely… inconvenienced by me. She asked no questions about my past issues or experiences, tried to take me entirely off of anxiety meds despite me specifically mentioning that my GAD was one of my main concerns, tried to prescribe me an insanely lower dose (5 mg vs that 75 mg that I currently take), completely disregarded my concerns about switching meds after a previously bad experience, and talked to me for maybe 10 minutes before dismissing me. She didn’t even take that stupid questionnaire sheet they make you fill out. I left in tears. Avoid this place like the plague.

The worst experience I have ever had. The doctors do not listen to you or your symptoms they prescribe random pills you have told them haven’t worked in the past. They gaslight you constantly and ask you odd questions… over and over when you have answered them trying to catch you up on answers.

Told one of the psychiatrists there about my past suicidal actions/thoughts that I had while on an SSRI a couple years ago (2023). Also detailed that a part of my suicide attempt was taking a lot of Prozac, the SSRI… that caused my suicidal thoughts/actions. So what did the psychiatrist prescribe me? A SSRI. Unbelievable. It's like they didn't even bother listening to me when I mentioned I've had problems with SSRIs. Avoid this place AT ALL costs. I'd rather pay $100s out of pocket, no insurance, for a private Psychiatrist outside of the BayCare network vs the $25 I spent with insurance over here. Every BayCare psychiatrist I've seen doesn't care about their patients much beyond the "are you suicidal" questions, and that depressed me more than anything else that's happened in my life.

I am beyond disappointed in the provider Sally Harrison, MSW. My son was scheduled with her as a new patient. At scheduling I was told to prepare for your first visit to be 2 hours (I was actually happy to hear they… were going to take time with my son) we sat in the lobby well past our appointment time. Finally we were called back by Sally who sat us in her office. She introduced her self and asked why we were there. I explained my son has been feeling depressed and is experiencing some social anxiety in school also has a diagnosis and is being treated for adhd. She looked at my 16 year old obviously nervous son and said do you want be here talking to me he answered no she’s asked him do you want to harm yourself or others he answered no. She said she had to interview him to see if he was a fit for her and her a fit for him. We were in there for less than 10 minutes and she sent us away. Didn’t talk to him privately. Just didn’t try period. Very frustrating.

This facility is a joke and considering suing. My daughter was a long standing patient and three times with three different doctors no matter how many times she would call and leave a messages to get refills or get… scheduled with a new doctor; no one would follow up. The amounts of times this place has neglected to keep patients on a timely medication routine is abysmal and has caused massive amounts of turmoil for someone with mental health issues that require constant monitoring and medication. No one here takes responsibility for the well being of patients and their lives.

Wow, had I first read the reviews I never would've put myself in this situation- As it seems that Baycare's standard of "quality behavioral health care" is insufficient to say the least and should be considering… utilizing different approach strategies clearly; as most evident from the countless negative reviews. Speaking on my own recent personal experience I encountered with BH Psychiatrist Dr Virginia Ulloa- She seemed unenthusiastic in her rigid intimidating demeanor showing no empathy and emotionless.. she spoke as if hardly fluent in English and I had a difficult time trying to understand her, and she was very noticeably becoming increasingly impatient & irritated by my efforts to understand her and quite obviously remained very unpleasantly displeased towards me; creating such a most uncomfortable experience in such an environment that I felt eager to leave & not look back

Even if you schedule an appointment four months in advance, if you don’t do the pre appointment paperwork online 48 hours in advance they’ll cancel your appointment and put someone in your slot without letting you know.… No wonder people don’t attempt to get counseling anymore.

I could not be happier with this facility. The front staff is always helpful and kind. My therapist is Ben. Ben is wonderful. He is very professional, gentle and he always has the right thing to say. Since I have been… going here, I feel much better with my mental health. Thank you!

Very disappointed. They never responded to the pharmacy regarding a refill for my daughter's medication resulting in her almost running out. They also never picked up the phone when I called about it, took me to a… voicemail. Someone called me to confirm her appointment and when I told them I needed help they told me that was not their job and forwarded me back to a voicemail. We had to run to the pharmacy for an emergency partial refill. So much for "mental health" care.

This is the most horrible dr office I have been to in my life. Being that I am a former baycare employees and my husband is a current baycare employee he even said this office is horrible baycare facility also . The… front office staff and medical assistants is very very rude they lack empathy actability and very disrespectful . Dr sriram was great she showed very much empathy and cared. This office has got so many complaints I’m surprised nothing has not been done. I will be reach out to hire management about this .

Dr. Poole is my favorite psychiatrist that I’ve ever worked with. He is so kind and knowledgeable. And he really takes his time with me and makes sure to listen to my thoughts and concerns. We make decisions as a team… on my care. I like him so much that I referred my best friend to him and now she seems him also and loves him! Thank you Dr. Poole!

The front office staff are horrible and would benefit from additional training in customer services. I called to change an appointment time. I was provided three time slots on a different day and told to hurry up… because the phone was ringing. I quote "We are real busy on Monday mornings". The staff make you feel like an inconvenience and uncomfortable. They get overwhelmed easily and take it out on the customer. This is not the first time, I've experienced poor customer service with this staff. I've also witnessed them be rude to other customers and employees as well. It's a shame to see how the quality of care in the BayCare system has gone down over the past few years.

Doctor Poole is an amazing doctor who has a lot of empathy for his patients and is very willing to work with you to make the perfect treatment plan. However, the women that work the front desk are the worst employees… I've ever seen at any professional business. I always have problems with them. The last time I was there, I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and the lady sitting with her back to me behind the counter told me she would check me in shortly because she was busy doing other stuff. I told her no problem. I would sit in the lobby and wait to be called up. 25 minutes passes, and I go back up to the counter and ask if I should check in now since my appointment with Doctor Poole was supposed to start 10 minutes ago. The lady tells me she already cancelled my appointment with the doctor because I never showed up on time. I told her I was sitting in the lobby right behind her for the last 25 minutes. She said she forgot that I was out there and that it was supposed to be my responsibility to remind her. She tried to make me reschedule again, but I said absolutely not since I drove 45 minutes in the pouring rain to get there. Afterwards, she was very apologetic, but it severely cut into my time with the doctor since he had other appointments. Honestly, I wouldn't even need to see the doctor in person anymore since I only ever have questions about the medications he already prescribes me, but I'm forced to make an appointment every time I have a question simply because his staff never relay any of my phone messages to him. I'll call several days in a row, leave messages, and not a single one gets to him. Only my first every message was relayed, so I know I have the right voicemail.

Front end staff is rude and lacks empathy, some of the medical staff are inexperienced and inattentive. Considering people are here for help with mental health, visitors - at a minimum - shouldn't be greeted with… hostility. Our community deserves better.

But guess what: Baycare… does not follow same guidelines as medicare so I was denied. Feeling suicidal and nowhere to go

I have have going there for almost 5 months. The nurse practitioner does not know how to put a 3-month script in she tells me a call a couple of days before my script is due. I've been calling for over a week leaving… messages nobody calls me back and she still has not called in my script. I don't know how these people say they are going to help you when you need help and they can't even call in your script or learn how to call in a 3-month script like every other doctor. And the worst part is I've been telling her over and over again these are not working I'm used to 20 mg or more twice a day. I've been ADHD since I was six years old on medication so you think I would have a little bit of a higher tolerance then somebody just starting out. I'm very disappointed I seeked help and I have received no help and no return phone calls.

Dr. Poole is absolutely amazing! So extremely knowledgeable on medications! I have been on certain meds for years and he just informed me on them (I should have known this before I took it) I feel safe and secure with… his plan for me! More importantly he took his time and broke down how I will rise above this. He validates What I'm going through is a rough time. I look forward to a bright future and I am able to see the vision he puts out! Thanks a million! I appreciate how real he keeps it too!

AVOID! Go to John’s Hopkins!! The receptionist was bothered by my existence and Dr. Sririam said come back in 6 weeks but when 30 days had passed my teenage autistic son w Severe OCD ran out of meds, had no refill, and… cvs has been trying to reach her for over a week and so have I. Running out of 5mg Abilify is not a pretty sight. He’s puking with migraines daily and there’s nothing I can do. I expected a lot more from this healthcare system but this office doesn’t care about kids!
