Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches – Lake Worth Detox and Rehab Services

Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches – Lake Worth appears on the register for residential treatment and sober living. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The record shows integrated treatment rather than one problem then the other. Housing support is listed for the months following a more intensive stage. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

My daugther entered this facility after being bakeracted 6 days. Bed to bed transfer. This facility failed to recognize she was not yet properly balanced, Drs did not revaluate her meds; allowed her to engage in… inappropriate behavior with other patients, failed to readmitt her for immediate acute care. When they could not care for her, they suggested to transfer her to a completely nonrelated facility instead of recommending hospital care first; then they allowed her to walk out knowing she was a harm to herself & others. BANYAN failed my daugther! failed to provide the very care they brand themselves with providing. Please do not go here! BANYAN SHOULD BE FINED AND FLAGGED FOR THEIR POOR ENVIRONMENT and ETHICS.!!!! RED FLAG

I am so so sad to hear of the state of this facility. I went there 5 years ago and it was my very first experience and I was so pleased with everything. Now, being in the recovery environment since, I am hearing such… awful, dangerous and harmful things regarding negligence, lack of basic care and needs and supplies, staff who do not care about helping people, drugs are rampant, people dying from overdose and suicide, HIPAA being violated, people being able to just walk in from outside, no true therapy or any kind of real treatment, rooms bare with cement flooring, floors, walls and surfaces not cleaned or disinfected, plumbing backed up, pool full of mold, the list goes on. I will be writing the Mayor, and state congressional officials, as well as the county and state health departments, and would like to create a way for everyone here to write a letter as well and voice their experiences. SHAME ON YOU. You’re supposed to help not cause further harm. I promise this will not go unnoticed and someone will be held accountable.

My son (30) came here. He left twice. Twice they welcomed him back with open arms but he made bad decisions again. Of course I was a mess trying to keep it together before during and after. But regardless…. this teams… actions really shocked me…. because I began receiving support from their staff via emails and texts etc & they were able to help me get through to my son in a different way than I’d been trying. I’m hopeful of a better outcome because my son is no piece of cake! We are presently still working on a full recovery but I couldn’t have done it without my favorites Jordan, Harrison, Forest & so so many others behind the scenes being patient & kind and continuing to lead the way! I’d give them 10 stars if I could. They never give up on you!!!! Everyone here deserves so much credit for all of the selfless sacrifices they make even in their personal time! Forever Grateful to Banyan Lake Worth 💝💝💝

I have been to many Banyan treatment centers in the past. However, I loved BHOP. The staff was very helpful and friendly in regard to my recovery of severe depression. This was in 2022 (?) I am unsure of the year, but… regardless I loved "BHOP". I am now part of the Banyan Alumni family, and they are truly the best! Thank you, Banyan, for helping me after all these years on my recovery journey from severe depression.

Hi friends. Please take the time to hear me out. I recently started a journey to wellness. In my search for facilities Bhop came up in the feed as an option. Upon arrival I couldn’t believe the condition of this… property. Filthy is an understatement! Here’s a few examples of my experience: Heavily stained towels and bedding. Standing dirty water on floors. Broken equipment including washers, sanitizer stations and soap dispenser were empty the whole time. The entire grounds is littered with discarded trash, cigarettes , wrappers and food remnants that the clients feed to the wild life… rogue raccoons, iguana feces, and the thickest layer of soot from flicking ashes that hasn’t been picked up. The bathroom floors have grime in all corners and grout and around the toilets, water fountains with mold on the mouthpieces. Unsafe conditions for MH and High risk patients. Short staffed I was told when we couldn’t find a tech. The pool wasn’t offered as portrayed and in the one occasion in my 14 days it was allowed the pool deck was cluttered with rotting tree limbs and trash. Unfortunately, that is only a small portion of just the health and hygiene of this tattered facility. Clients were jumping the fence to retrieve drugs and alcohol, meeting people in the parking areas and returning to the general population for distribution. Promiscuity is untamed here… inappropriate attire to say the least.. men and women in each others rooms. Lots of medication complaints were heard at patient's told stories of having missing medication and personal items everyday… this “unlocked” facility can be accessed an any point day or night as revealed by people just coming in off the street to hang out. This facility needs a petition to surrender.

My case manager Kayla Gill was exceptional and knew exactly what i needed to do. She helped me with every step of the way. The therapist Stephanie was very knowledgeable and kept me informed and positive and helped me… in every way possible. Now as for the accomodations. I'm from Kansas and I had to pay for my flight to and from. I had 3 days warning of my discharge date and in order to get an affordable rate to fly back on a holiday I had to leave by 5am. Which now meant I had to Uber to Ft. Lauderdale Air Port since they have no driver's before 9am. Costing me even more money. The facility looked ok from the front side and the main entrance but as soon as you walk out of the double doors shielding you from the real deal. It's like Welcome to Florida's homeless camp. The place is run down, trash every where, people sleeping on the benches outside, iguanas swimming in the emerald green pool alongside of the raccoon's that bath in it nightly. There is no structure. Ppl climbing in through their windows to their rooms to avoid group and techs that cuss at you or speak to you in their native language. The only good thing is the food. I had a room that the TV didn't work but the air was cold. When I complained they switched me rooms to a room the TV worked but the air didn't get below 75. So I made daily complaints and was told they would switch out the unit but never did. I was told A LOT of lies to get me to come there. I was sent beautiful pictures of the place and it wasn't the place at all! There was no equine therapy or daily yogo, no pier overlooking a lake, no trips to the beach and sure as hell no chiropractic care or acupuncture as I was told there would be. I decided I was there to get help for my addiction and that was my main focus, but the only group I really got anything out of was process group. And the rest of the groups could be summed up with "get a sponsor" and go to meetings when you get out. They sure put a lot of emphasis on that. But they have the sponsor responsible for way to much stuff. I got home and ended back in treatment at a local facility a month later and it was an actual treatment facility. I was there for 30 days then the PHP for 45 days and it was a blessing. I've now been clean for 6 months and I don't owe it to this place that's for sure. They need to hire a real maintenance man, and someone to care for their landscape. Their staff was so unprofessional. I guess they think we are addicts what do we care and that we don't deserve better. I've heard the other places owned by this Corp are much better but I guess you have to be private pay or have better insurance. I wouldn't recommend this place. I now know why they are so dead set against cell phones because if pictures of the actual place got out they would be shut down

I only gave this place one star but I wish I could give it zero stars!! ABSOLUTELY DON’T go to this facility if you need to get help!! Staff is incompetent and totally non-responsive from the top to the bottom!! No… toilet paper and no towel for a shower for a day and a half. It’s a ridiculous joke!! They really should be shut down!! Read all the one star reviews and take it seriously. I did before my daughter went but we were out of choices, so she decided to go there. Such a huge mistake!!!

My husband had an awful experience here beginning the day he arrived. It was very disorganized. They didn’t offer most of the services listed on their website (and confirmed by phone prior to arrival) which was the… whole reason he chose that place. No equine therapy, no faith based therapy, no biofeedback bed/therapy, no family therapy and he never got to use the pool. He was there for about a month and the only recreational therapy he received was one bowling outing. When we asked the therapist about the misinformation, he said the facility could use some work. Then my husband agreed to a step 2 facility in hopes of a better program and that place (not a banyan facility) was just a dump so he came home. He also told me some horrific stories of events that occurred while he was there that cannot be shared publicly. We would highly recommend finding another facility! Now if my husband relapses, he probably won’t ever go to a treatment center again because of his awful experience. Such a HUGE disappointment!

Banyan Treatment center lies to potential clients in order to get them cornered in their abusive program and feel helpless. There are too many corrupt staff members who allow innocents clients to be harmed. I had the… unfortunate opportunity at this facility. It was only 4 days of my life and that was enough for me to sit down 2 months later and spend my time exposing how corrupt and harmful this "treatment facility" is. I was physically attacked, after many cries for help to my therapist (OLANDA) and several other staff, techs who just watched this 6' grown man tower over me and call me out of my name, I expressed countless times I was terrified and their response? That I need to "walk away" as if I am the problem. I was stalked and attacked all in one day. My therapist OLANDA would not even entertain me with a grievance form, I had to borrow another clients grievance form from their introduction packet, which I did not even receive upon my arrival. I was humiliated, belittled, and ignored for 4 days and that was enough for me to be traumatized for the rest of my treatment, even when I did find a new facility. Meredith did not offer me any treatment, no nurse call, or even an offer to the hospital, I was mid concussion whenever she was asking if I was okay. If nothing else, OLANDA and MEREDITH are two of the worst human being I have had the displeasure of being in my presence. I would not touch this place with a ten foot pole, let alone step foot near Lake Worth FL in sheer agony of the expectation that I am too close to the cesspool of toxicity. They allow clients to openly have sex, so don't think you won't be triggered if you need help with sexual abuse. As the old saying goes, I would give this institution negative stars if I could. Mirium(who knows what she does)((not enough)), Debbbie(front desk)((does literally nothing)), Audrey(intake, front desk)((Rude)), Shaquilla(front desk, ie nothing)((doesn't know how to deal with people with mental health issues, literally your "job")), Geforn(case worker)((is careless, slow, has an "I just work here" attitude, again, what are you doing)), Tiana(clinical direfctor assistant)((she was helpful)), Chris(tech)((like what are you doing? careless, did not defend me when I was being verbally assaulted, told me to "just walk away")), Meredith(clinical director)((talks down on people, is all about the money and not the recovery, kicked me out, thank goodness, for my insurance. Did not offer me any medical care after I was physically assaulted, and was verbally demeaning)) The facility is already dangerous

This place is extremely unprofessional. Medical malpractice is HUGE here. This place is not for the weak at all. There were so many issues here I’m not sure where to even start. You are not a patient to them, they see… you as $. Staff violates HIPPA left and right talking about patients to other patients, there is no discretion. It is co-ed, so people will always have sex in different places. The only thing I liked was the food. The counselors and staff have too many patients. I do not recommend this place. Do your research and go somewhere else. I saw so many people get kicked out with no where to go, it was unbelievable, even though they were promised to be set up somewhere else, they weren’t. Some counselors are good, others are only there for a paycheck. Techs are young, unprofessional, and very immature. They will also play favorites and they won’t hide it. There are barely any activities for the patients. Do not believe everything they tell you before going in because the majority of it are lies and they just want to get you in the door, try to put an ankle monitor on you and keep you against your will. I cannot stress enough to go somewhere else and do your research.

I had a overall decent experience here. I stayed 30 days. Food is good and case management great too. But I don't like how the techs treat patients here and groups tend to be very surface level and don't get into much… depth. You get what you put into though and my stay was overall good. Oh they are EXTREMELY disorganized too and none of the staff know what's going on. They lost my luggage...SERIOUSLY???

This is an ex resort converted into a rehabilitation center so if you can imagine the amount of people that are that are in this facility when I was detoxing no one came to see if I was okay they would have open the… door say hey are you good if you don't answer they don't care they close the door and keep it moving I didn't eat for 3 days because I was very very very ill and no one including the staff came and gave me in and brought me a plate of food meanwhile I'm throwing up everywhere. Banyan Center was a great experience. Beth and Darron were so attentive and caring it made it all worth it. I feel ready to move on in life thanks to all the therapist and my case manager. By the way the food was great.
