Boca Recovery Center – Huntington

A Place That Truly Saved My Life I don’t say this lightly when I say that Boca Recovery Center in Huntington, Indiana, saved my life. I struggled with addiction to opiates and fentanyl for approximately 30 years. During… that time, I lost at least 80 friends to addiction. I have been to at least 30 treatment facilities throughout my life, and I can honestly say that none of them even came close to comparing to Boca. From the moment I made the call for help, I felt like someone genuinely cared. They were ready to help immediately, including arranging my flight and transportation to the airport. That kind of urgency and compassion meant more to me than I can put into words. The staff at this facility goes above and beyond to make you comfortable, safe, and cared for. They do things you wouldn't necessarily expect—from providing great food, snacks, and drinks to doing your laundry and making sure everything is clean and comfortable. I was honestly shocked when I found out they even did our laundry. And for those who smoke and may not be able to afford cigarettes, they even try to help with that. Most importantly, the people are what make Boca different. I came in needing help and left with people I consider friends for life. I would estimate that I made at least 30 new friends through what we affectionately called the Boca crew. I enjoyed my stay so much that I would honestly go back just to visit the staff. The nurses—Michelle, Tiffany, Tami, Beth, and Maddie—were incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. They treated me with dignity and never made me feel judged. The techs—Grosiala, Leann, Bri, Lista, Nate, Malaia, Sarah, Michael, Mike, Jason, Darius, Crystal, Lilly, Joe, and Andrew—were friendly, relatable, and always there when we needed them. The addiction counselors, especially Candace and Dave, were absolutely amazing. Thank you both for the incredible groups and the information you shared. I didn't just listen—I took what you taught me to heart and truly internalized it. Taylor, the Client Care Coordinator, is absolutely amazing. She knows what she's talking about, and her compassion and dedication really stood out to me. Olive in housekeeping deserves recognition as well. She goes above and beyond, and the laundry was always returned clean and folded beautifully. And Bill and Jeff, the chefs—your cooking was incredible! Thank you for putting so much love into the food and making me feel at home. If I forgot to mention someone, I sincerely apologize. Please know that I appreciate every single member of the Boca team. Each person played a part in my recovery, and I will forever be grateful. Since coming home, my desire to use has been almost nonexistent—something I honestly wasn't sure was possible after 30 years of addiction. Boca didn't just give me treatment. They gave me hope, compassion, friendships, and another chance at life. To the entire Boca crew: Thank you for saving my life. Thank you for believing in me when I needed it most. I attended Boca recovery center for 9 days. I spoke with somebody on the phone that recommended me seek treatment there so I listen to their advice. I was told that they would have AA meetings or NA a meetings every… day. In the 10 days that I was there there were zero meetings held. I held my own meetings just to have one. If you want real recovery and are interested in AA/NA as a form of treatment do not go to this facility. Also when I asked to leave to be transferred to another treatment facility I was treated with much hostility and was lied to by the clinical staff. I only wanted to make a call to another treatment facility so that they could reserve a bed and arrange travel. They would not let me do this. The technical staff and nursing are the star of the show there. They helped me more than any of the clinical staff. They know far more about recovery than any of the clinical staff that are actually paid to manage recovery because many of them are in recovery themselves. Unfortunately many of their "classes" are just them putting on a YouTube video for an hour in their theater room. The clinical staff not only restricted phone calls to my family and treatment centers when I asked to be transferred but also treated me with hostility and lied to me every chance they could. I was told that Uber does not service Huntington Indiana and I believed them. When I asked to leave they walked me off property with my suitcase in 22° weather and pointed me in the direction of the "nearest" hotel. I started walking and put hotels into my Google maps and they pointed me in the completely wrong direction and would have had me walking miles with a suitcase to find it. After I googled the nearest hotel I found out that there was one half a mile away in the opposite direction. I do not think this was intentional though. God was looking out for me and I was picked up by somebody nearly immediately and am now and I good environment and have a bed booked at a different treatment center and a flight arranged. I did not want to leave because I wanted to go out and use, I wanted to leave because they did not host any AA or NA meeting. I have tried everything else and in the past the program is the only thing that has kept me sober and they seem to have an aversion to that. Do not go here yourself or send a loved one here if you want true recovery. Shout out to Joe and all of the other tech staff and nurses they actually care about you. Think through your decision thoroughly before you go here. They say that they are in the top 10% of recovery centers in America and this may be true of their other facilities but the Huntington Indiana location is by far the worst treatment facility I have been to and unfortunately I have been to six. I caution you again to think through this decision before going to this location and to thoroughly consider other options as just about any option is better than this if you want long term recovery. In my opinion only God can save me and if you believe this do not go here. Also thoroughly look at the reviews and consider the rating when you do.Also read every review as many of the reviews are left by staff which is against Google policy and misrepresents the true nature of their facility. Over 15 months clean no thanks to this facility.

Will not stop calling me or my husband (emergency contact i gave them)after numerous requests to stop. Just got hung up on by either Beavis or Butthead who answers the phone in admissions. You all are terrible.

This place and number is a scam. I tried to get AA references and they refused to give me zoom meetings. They blocked my number when I tried to escalate the issue. Also the guy I talked to called me a crack addict. Do… not invest your money towards them.

In Most states when you go to recovery you're treated like a prisoner they lock you into a recovery center and you can't go anywhere do… anything not at Boca. Boca Recovery Center is totally different they treat you with respect. The staff: At Boca the staff understand what you're going through,they've been there . Most of them are recovering themselves . They get it! To the staff at Huntington Indiana. You Know Who You Are. Ya' all are great! Even if you have a disability the staff of Boca and Huntington Indiana will make sure that you are comfortable and capable of meeting your goal. If I had to pick four words to sum up the staff in Huntington Indiana it would be kind, professional, respectful, and compassionate. In summary if you have the compassion to want to get clean and stay sober Boca Huntington Indiana is one of my top recommendations. As long as you have the desire to get clean. And the willingness to stay sober Boca recovery will help you on your journey Thank you Boca Huntington Indiana I couldn't have done this without you!!!!

Boca is the place to be. The staff is awesome. That people get along very respectful if you want to get your life together or you got a loved one that needs help with addiction. Joe's awesome Dave is awesome. Candace is… awesome. Never won their nurses. They're all awesome people, and I gotta take a shout out to Michelle. It's Sunday not gonna forget you either brother, I recommend this place to the fullest. I can go all day long out. I can talk about this place.they , treat you like a human being if I ever have to go back , i'm coming to boca , thank you stafffor everything you've done for me and don't forget to cook, he's amazing.He makes sure you're full cook's plenty of food.ThanksEveryone!!!

Boca helped me so much and the staff is so so good and I agree Joe was the one that touched heart his meetings was my daily medicine. I need to go back to Boca and hoping they'll let me come back soon. Calling them this… week to line everything up with them.

The staff and clients at boca are incredible. Joe leads the most incredible meetings; I wish I could virtually sit in on them. Bri was such a strong supporter. If you have an opportunity to go here, give it a chance and… go!! It works!

This place was amazing! The staff has also walked in shoes similar to my own so it made relating to them much easier! I was able to get a good head start in sobriety here! The residents were also amazing! If I had to… refer anyone needing help I would definitely refer them here! It’s a great place to start your sober journey!

The staff and the councilors and the administration there are the best. I love the program and it was the best experience I had ever. I would recommend this to anyone who needs help they helped save my life.

Amazing staff and facilities, I went in as a hot mess with mental and addiction issues, and through their assistance, was able to kick my addiction and improve my mental health, while interacting with other people who… had similar issues. I learned so much and became passionate about the recovery process, that they’ve inspired me to assist other people in their own recovery journey.

My expirence at boca recovery truly has changed my life around for the better, they helped me recover from a methadone dependency and alcohol abuse comfortably. The amount of information that I have been taught to take… back home with me is phenomenal to continue my recovery. And the fact that it feels like clients and staff are one family all going through similar struggles but coming out on the other side whole is inspiring in itself!

I called the narcotics anonymous hotline about my son and they arranged for us to take him to Boca. My son didn't really want to go, but he went and was so glad he did. He is now over 5 months clean and doing extremely… well. Thank you, Boca, for giving me my son back. He had nothing but great things to say about the way he was treated at your facility. When we picked up my son, we could see that the staff was very caring. There were hugs and tears from my son and others that he connected with. There was kind words and positivity from the staff. I would recommend Boca and I have to people who have asked. Thanks, again, Boca! ❤️

This is my first time seeking sobriety. As soon as I walked through the doors, I felt calm and welcomed. The staff are easy to approach and talk to. My peers are welcoming and my new family.

Boca is a very good experience staff is awesome and very helpful and know what you’re going through.

I stayed at boca for 20 days, the place was great they really help you through your individual struggles, they staff was amazing, the chefs cooked awesome meals 3 times a day, and medical team was 24/7 and very caring… about all my needs.. highly recommend this place, plus the ducks are too cool.

My names Alan and I’m an Addict. Boca was my first rehab and they really helped get my life back on track. The techs all get it they understand and are compassionate. When I was throwing up in trash can they brought me… everything I needed to get though it. The nursing staff is great and Whitney the practitioner made a custom taper just for me to get through it. Big shout out to John the director of Boca for doing all he could to send me off with an after care plan. When I needed help a couple times even after I left John still answered the phone and helped me. If your at the point where it’s get sober or die please just go to rehab I was so skeptical but now I’m glad I did it. Thank you Boca and all staff

The staff here are all real understanding to the Situation I was in when I came in and they took great care of me but there case manager Tony was pushy and would NOT let me choose were I wanted to go for my after care I… thought this was wrong because after all it's my treatment and I should have been aloud to pick were I wanted to go After going somewhere I do not wanna go.No one was there to pick me up.No one answered the phone when I called I could have found me somewhere to go

I just want to say is that I LOVE ❤️ THIS PLACE PLEASE COME IF YOU NEED TO

My son went there and was not allowed a phone but was allowed under the supervision to make out with another patient. You get 15 minutes of recorded phone calls a day with people on your list only but can spend all day… with physical contact with other patients and do whatever. Wish he would have went elsewhere... they cared more about what insurance would pay then any thing else... don't make a rash decision sending your loved ones here... it could cause harm to multiple relationships back home.

If you are struggling with addiction and ready for a life changing experience, then BOCA Recovery Center is the place to call. The amazing staff, credited therapists, and 24hr medical staff worked diligently to help me… to start my life long journey with my recovery. My only regret is that I did not make this call sooner.
