Front desk in Paramus is terrible. HORRIBLE, the admin told me to check psychologytoday.com to find an accommodating facility. Meanwhile their site states that they do not turn anyone needing care away. Don’t waste your… time with an intake here, you’ll never get the appropriate help, it’s unfortunate because years ago they were great. However, administrators are beyond unprofessional.

after somehow tapping into my private text messages and sending 3 police to my house in the middle of the night, a care plus NJ psychiatrist spoke to me on the phone to determine if i needed to be hospitalized (i… didn’t.) he was disrespectful and had a major attitude. he cared more about my family drama than me, and talked down to, degraded, and belittled me. he was sifting through the printed out conversations where i divulged details about severe trauma all the while asking me to tell him all about it, in the same breath saying i had no obligation to speak on it. all the officers said very clearly they didn’t think i needed to be hospitalized, he sent me anyway. when i got there all the medical staff also agreed i didn’t need to be there and sent me right home. if i could give this place 0 stars i would, i wish i remembered this dudes name. he needs his licenses revoked and as someone studying social work i will one day take his job and do it far better than he could ever imagine.

Naming this place Care Plus is so wrong, it should change to Care Less! The staff is untrained and clueless as to help patients. The “so called therapists and psychiatrists” are trained to deal with pets not people and… would make great veterinarians some day if they could ever get a degree! Run don’t walk and find help somewhere where people care about you as a person. It is sad that our mental health facilities have failed us all and this is a prime example! Sad to see and say!

This experience has been the most distressing I have encountered. The psychiatric nurse practitioner assigned to me exhibited extreme aggression and confrontational behavior, displaying an agitated demeanor that was… unlike anything I have encountered in my mental health journey. After spending a full day following a list provided by my insurance company, I decided to seek private care to address my needs in a more tranquil and soothing environment. I am seeking a professional who can provide me with answers in a calm and caring manner, rather than someone who confronts and attacks me. This establishment should be avoided, as it has a history of treating patients poorly.

I am a patient at an Assisted Living Facility who filed 28+ complaints and violations against the Director. In retribution he contacted Care Plus and screener M.G. came out and declared me an emergency mental health… crisis after 5 minutes and had me forcibly removed by police and taken to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center. He not only believed the pack of lies from the Director but included them in his evaluation instead of following protocol and obtaining signed statements from staff members attesting to the fact that the incidents actually happened. I wasted a whole day at the hospital, interviewed by 3 different doctors, and I cleared all medical and psychiatric evaluations. I was given my discharge papers, released, and taken back to the facility, where the Director had locked all of the doors and refused to readmit me. His sole purpose was to get me out of the facility as a "nuisance Medicaid patient" and he committed the criminal act of "Patient Dumping." We had no choice but to drive all the way back to the hospital where law enforcement and doctors got involved and I was sent back to the facility again. The matter is now being investigated by the N.J. Attorney General's Office and the OSC Office of the State Comptroller. Both the Director and the jerk from Care Plus who was his accomplice should be in prison. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Sometime yall gotta understand it’s a business first and sometimes they go base on your insurance and how good or bad it is

I use the service to have them check on my sister. They did the screaming and provided all of the information I needed to help me make a decision. They are very patient when dialing with clients in crisis.

Average services and they aren’t the cheapest either. I was not able to continue my past therapist out of pocket so I came here. I suggest this place as a last resort. It’s not great and only provides the bare minimum… of wellness programs. I look forward to a competent therapist once I can afford one again.

I went here when I was 14. Had one of their psychiatrists tell me to my face in front of my parents that I don’t give a shit about anyone else but myself. Mind you I was going through a lot of traumatic things at that… age. My parents were horrified. I hope they fired Michelle lepine. I hope she’s not still working with teenagers. That moment still plays in my head over and over again 11 years later.

The worst mental health place that you can possibly come across. They want to medicate you right away and the staff is unprofessional and treats you like a number If you want help don't go here

Screw this place screw everyone that works here I got sent to ER because of this pathetic intern over a mis understanding.

I have currently been with careplus for about a year. Let me tell you I have had a long history of mental illness. started from the age of 9 I'm now 35 I have been to countless mental health facilities and careplus has… the most considerate professional team of mental health professionals. I personally want to thank Dr.Ellery who is the best physiatrist I have ever worked with Dr.Ellery really understands the field and his knowledge of mental health disorders and medication is Grade A+ I'm so thankful for what he has done for me. From someone who has about 26 years of experience I would highly recommend Dr.Ellery and trust him fully to help you help yourself. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Always had people who were attentive and great listeners. Even if something goes array they make sure everything is handled and fixed.

These people get paid to do nothing. All this talk about oh we need to ask you a million questions about your personal life to place you in the right program. Next thing you know a month passes after your intake and you… gotta sit there and play phone tag with them to try to see about the next steps. Avoid at all costs unless you want to be lied to and have your time wasted.

If you need care asap, please do not go to this place. They do not care in what state you are in. They will make you wait for treatment until they are finished with their process. I REPEAT, IF YOU NEED MEDICAL CARE… URGENTLY DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE YOU WILL WAIT FOREVER TO RECEIVE THE TREATMENT YOU DESPERATELY NEED. Go anywhere else. If you can wait weeks, then maybe consider this place. God bless you. I wish you the best.

I would give Care Plus a Paramus New Jersey zero Stars if I could. The way they handled a situation regarding myself was reckless dishonest and very unhealthy for my mental health. Apparently the counselors here do not… take the time to get to know their clients they have no empathy towards them they are vicious and spiteful. They medicate you and call an ambulance on you if there is something that you do not agree with them. They are solely in it for the money. I would advise anyone not to come to this specific program. My PCP recommended this group. They contacted me and did intake and signed me up to a program attached to my insurance without disclosing all information needed to make an informed decision. I am now expected to pay… roughly 2k for a “lump sum” of services (I was only contacted once for 2 months before actually being connected to a provider and did one actual month of services). I did not feel cared about nor like what was done was in my best interest. The provider was nice but the entire practice was awful and only cared about money.

I was referred here by my OBGYN office after having a traumatizing birthing experience. I’m not going to get into creating a laundry list of complaints about how unorganized and completely unprofessional this group is… because I see so many complaints below already. Just know that if I would have done my research in the beginning/ seen all of these bad reviews I would have declined to even start working with this team (even though my OB recommended them). Back on the hunt looking for a therapist I go!

Absolutely vile place. Cares more about meeting quotas than their patients.

So I filled out the online form. Weeks past and nothing. I kept calling and calling. I finally get someone. I go for my intake. They tell me it will be a while to get a therapist because there is a shortage. No problem… I wait and wait. After a couple months I get a call that they still don't have a therapist but they want me to do group therapy on Monday and Thursday nights. I am a single Mom and I don't have transportation. I also have issues doing group because of a previous bad experience. So since I couldn't do their group therapy they dropped me. I really need help. They should have said that from the beginning not string me along for months and then just drop me. Thanks for making my mental health worse horrible place. Plus the women at the front desk literally peeled my insurance card apart. Just a weird experience overall

Doctor Ashely have never appeared on scheduled time multiple times and canceled the appointment at the very last minute. What a terrible doctor.

I been going to Care plus in paramus for years now.. and I can truly say they been nothing but amazing and deserve a five star! John has always been super helpful and so sweet! We need more people like him working in… offices!

I rarely do reviews but I have to review this establishment because the help they are offering me is above and beyond. Everyone from the front staff (Janibel), my case manager (Rebecca), Tina and my therapist (Jennifer… Lubanty) have been so wonderful, patient, and caring. I’m having a hard time mentally and financially, but knowing I have a team of caring individuals in charge behind me makes me not only emotional but protected and supported. I would recommend everyone to go to this facility that needs mental health help and a support team. Telehealth goes smoothly, copay goes smoothly, everything is great. Therapy isn’t only thing they offer, they offer support in daily life when depression makes it hard to deal, and a patient and kind manner with their patients. This is optimal patient care and I’m happy I found my therapy home. Thank you careplus

I have mixed fillings. Care Plus specialists helped my son a lot and I will always be grateful for this. Nevertheless, Care Plus preferred not to share important facts with the court appointed parent coordinator ( for… example, that mother refused to bring the child to the court appointed therapy FOR 6 MONTHS). It looks to me that covering such information against best interests of my child if to say the least.
