Caring Choices of Alexandria – Alexandria Detox and Rehab Services

Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Ask how the program handles someone who has been through treatment before. Whether medication is available is worth confirming at the outset.

Caring Choices of Alexandria – Alexandria Reviews and Ratings
Patient reviews of Caring Choices of Alexandria cover ground that official records leave out, from the admissions call to aftercare planning. Read them in this section alongside reviews gathered from around the web.
Well please and great clinic to come to for mental health.. great working staff…
Alexandria location is really great. The staff is incredibly friendly and work so hard down to any accommodation you may need. They worked extra hard to get a ride set up for me so that I can attend the groups that I… love and need each week. It’s right on the bus line for local people. I’d recommend this clinic to anyone suffering with life and sobriety. They have made all the difference in my own struggles. WONDERFUL!
The administrative staff, to the nurses, down to the doctors are all professional, completely helpful with excellent bed-side manner.
I've suffered from depression and anxiety since I was 12, I found caring choices in my 30s. Out of all the doctors I've seen in 20 years to try to help me Noone cared about me, they literally would just push the newest… antidepressant on me and wouldn't listen to what I had to say. Jack has changed my life, I'm so grateful for him. He listens to me and and truly cares about my mental well-being. I wouldn't be where I am today without his compassion for his patients. I never knew what being human felt like until I met Jack and Marc, I can not thank them enough for helping me when no one else would take me seriously.
They wouldn't let me change doctors even though this doctor was making everything worse. It's already hard to find help in the area. Dr. Alla needs to leave her personal beliefs at home and not try to press it on… anyone. Heather the supervisor or whatever thought it was all very funny. Some people do not need to work in mental healthcare. They have no passion. It's just a check for them.
I thank God I made the decision to come to Caring Choices. I absolutely love the staff here. They are helping me be successful in so many ways. Everyone I have seen here seems devoted to giving me the care and… compassion I've needed. I haven't been tossed around like some folks have claimed on their reviews but their patient load seems extreme so please be patient with them.
I called to schedule an appointment and was greeted by an answering machine. It is four days later and I havent received a call back. I would hate to know how many people have gone without help because they can't answer… the phone. Edit: They called me back a week and a day after I called for an appointment. Edit: At my first appointment, when I first walked in the door, I was approached by TWO security guards asking me if I had any weapons or sharp objects. This was unsettling to me and could be quite triggering to some people. The waiting room is a crowded area. The first appointment is with a social worker for an evaluation before you see a doctor. The receptionist told me that none of the doctors work on Fridays. The doctor's office is unwelcoming with a bright florescent overhead light and one armless chair. He sat behind a desk and typed the whole time we were talking. It felt like I was back in school sitting in the principal's office. I was expecting something a little more inviting I guess. I was also set up for an appointment with a random doctor at 7:30am that I didn't even know about until I received a text a couple of days before. I'm not really sure how that happened or why the receptionist did that. I read someone's review about this happening to them and not knowing until they showed up for their scheduled appointment that it was changed. It sounds like this scheduling issue has happened more than it should. I'm not impressed.
I showed up for my appointment this afternoon at 1pm and was informed that my appointment was at 9:30 this morning. This was not the case, the paperwork I was give prior to my appointment said 1pm. The desk clerk said… that it was changed. I asked if they called me to let me know, because I have not received a call or voicemail from them. He said that they may have called the inpatient facility that I was discharged from a week ago. I told him that I wasn’t there anymore, and they should have called me. He told me that a clinician could see me, but not the doctor. I was there to have a doctor fill out extended sick leave paperwork for me, seeing someone else would not have helped me. This is an absolutely unprofessional way to run a clinic. In addition to this, the faculty was dirty and run down. It did not seem like a safe place to be, as they have to ask people if they brought mace or other weapons to the clinic. I gave one start only because zero stars is not an option.
Friendly people work there.
By far the best counselor and doctor I could ever ask far💕
These people really do care. Any time I have any problems I call and talk to the nurse and she gets with my doctor. Dr Roy is very caring and makes sure I get the help I need.
Very poor call back and follow up.
I love the people here they ,v,do everything they can to help me
I received mental health counseling and psychiatric medication for many years with this agency. They were wonderful about teaching me coping skills, ways to handle my anger and depression without illegal drugs and help… in parenting my children. I would not have made it without them. Thank you Caring Choices. If you are having psych issues, please see Caring Choices for help.
