Centennial Peaks Hospital – Louisville Reviews and Ratings
Patients, loved ones and healthcare workers describe Centennial Peaks Hospital in their own words in this section. Read what has been shared, and if you know the facility firsthand, add your review.
I was involved in this facility by my own choice. They would not allow me to take any of the classes over the 5 days I was in there because of their own internal issues. You can only detox here, there is no support.
I was treated with the most care.
Kind staff, excellent recovery, but YOU have to accept the help of course.
I don’t know if this is an issue at other mental hospitals in Colorado but am I having one hell of a time trying to get my records from this place I went in person signed the damn release form submitted it in person… three weeks ago they told me I was gonna get it the following Friday I have called them six times so far and they keep telling me “we’ll check up on you in 48 hours. Leave a voicemail.” it’s been one long 48 hours that’s for damn sure because I still haven’t gotten a call back. Kind of concerns me it makes me wonder if parents are able to get in touch with their children that are in this psych ward
The nurses and teechs were all so caring and wonderful. Ara, Sami, P were the nicest. During my intake I had arrived with all safeties and it was a bit frustrating. It was a quick check in with the doctor to have that… settled but I imagine anyone with a crisis situation that would have been a very hard time trying to help themselves through. Meals are probably the best I've had in inpatient hospital.
Centennial is by far the recovery center I've been to👌! Especially Sue on a one-to-one basis on the unit I was in. Great job Centennial 👍!
Everyone was really helpful. The food was good, the activities were good. It was a very positive experience for me. I would recommend this to anyone.
Good food, nicotine gum and patches, women, air conditioning in the gym, and alot of good looking women...oh ya. Good food tho.
I found warm and loving people. I received the mental health care that I needed!
I was there for 3 months after my only son was murdered by his bride of 2 months. I struggled for 2 years and finally found a program for PTSD. It’s been over 30 years and I still have symptoms occasionally but I am… much better. I’m sure that finding help saved my life. Please seek help if you’re struggling!
Desiree is an Angel on earth! I am not sure what my son’s opinion of the hospital is. But I (his guardian) think that it is one of the better facilities in Colorado!
I reccomend Centennial Peaks to anyone who needs good mental health care. The staff are very caring and professional. Thank you to all the Staff!
There is a family emergency going on and the staff here is denie me to talk to my girlfriend Tanya Whitfield she is a patient in your facility the hospital told me she was going to your facility and so did she thats how… I got all the information I have now and we have a family member going to the hospital i was told by my lawyer and by the hospital she was transported from that if your staff is denieing family emergency phone calls that it is against the law
I was in patient then went to outpatient programming. It was difficult to get through, I was in a dark place, but they helped me a lot to get back on track and feeling like myself again. I’m not all the way back yet,… but I am on the way.
Amazing staff, across the board.
I am submitting this formal complaint regarding my involuntary psychiatric hospitalization at Centennial Peaks Hospital approximately five years ago. I believe I suffered significant harm during my admission, and I am… requesting that this matter be formally investigated. During my hospitalization, I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and Bipolar I disorder. Prior to this admission, I had no known personal history of either condition, nor is there any known family history of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder on either side of my family. I was informed that these diagnoses were likely hereditary, which conflicted with my family’s medical history. From my perspective, I appeared to stabilize within several days of admission. Despite this, my hospitalization continued for approximately three weeks, and I believe I was administered medications and treatments that were unnecessary and caused lasting physical and psychological harm. While hospitalized, I experienced interactions with individuals who identified themselves as being affiliated with a U.S. government agency. They questioned me extensively regarding experiences I had described involving remote viewing and information that I believed related to classified matters. As a result of these events, I came to believe that my hospitalization was being influenced by parties outside of my medical treatment. I recognize that this belief reflects my recollection and interpretation of events, and I am requesting that it be independently investigated. I also believe that my treatment was influenced by factors unrelated to my medical care. In particular, I question whether outside pressure affected clinical decisions regarding my diagnosis, medications, and continued confinement. If such influence occurred, I believe it would represent a serious breach of medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and my rights as a patient. The events of this hospitalization have had a profound impact on my life. Five years later, I continue to experience psychological distress, including nightmares and symptoms consistent with trauma. I believe these events caused significant damage to my personal life, employment, and overall well-being. I have retained documents, photographs, and other materials related to my hospitalization and intend to preserve them as evidence. I am requesting that all remaining records related to my admission—including medical records, incident reports, visitor logs, security logs, medication administration records, and any surveillance footage that may still exist—be preserved immediately. I am pursuing legal counsel regarding these matters and intend to seek accountability for any negligence, malpractice, or violations of my rights that may have occurred. This letter serves as formal notice that I dispute the care I received and request a complete investigation into my hospitalization and treatment.
Well- not sure what happened but my little carryon rolling suitcase was lost? I was there for 1 night before being moved to a bigger hospital up the street. I don’t remember being taken by ambulance or anything. 2 Days… later when I asked about my stuff they opened the in room closet and all the contents of my suitcase were now stuffed into 3 hospital bags but 2 credit cards and a $20 were missing from the wallet that was in a separate ziploc bag. My drivers lic. and Medicare insurance card were loose n the ziploc but no sign of cash or credit cards. They didn’t have any answers to what happened to my suitcase. Just really weird. Did they empty and then just chuck it in the dumpster??? Cards no big deal- I cancelled those and I guess someone got a $20 tip from me. Just strange. BUT- in my short time there- the staff were very patient and kind especially dealing with all the others who were agitated and loud and demanding. I don’t know how they do it. I just went in to safely detox… these patients were on a definite other level of addiction and mental health. I am thankful I got moved out after 1 night. Just don’t take ANY valuables in… several different hands could of grabbed my stuff- I was just dumb and didn’t realize I wouldn’t need anything like that once in lockdown. Should have left in trunk of car! Live and learn. Anyway- staff was wonderful and did everything they could to help. God bless them!!
This place answered the phone, Centennial peaks detox. I pay for a Lyft to get all the way out there and because it's a mental health hospital they held me hostage for days after my detox regiment. It was like a movie.… I had to beg to get out. They almost made me loose my job and home, ridiculous. And the staff is all women who are crewl to men. It was nuts!!!!!!
I recently came in for detox and have been a patient here before. Overall, I appreciate the medication management and treatment provided, but I wanted to share some concerns. I believe the social workers, especially… Molly and Jayne, are extremely hardworking but appear to be overextended. Because I had been through the program before, I already knew the process and how to get things handled. However, for new patients, the experience can be much more difficult. I also feel that the MAs are not always equipped to handle the level of patient needs, particularly when it comes to managing crises during the intake process. After spending several hours completing intake, many patients are already frustrated, uncomfortable, and dealing with the effects of substance use or withdrawal. While the medication aspect of treatment is one of the program's strengths, you are serving people with a wide range of substance use issues and needs. I think leadership could provide additional support, staffing, and resources to better assist both patients and employees. For many people, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to seek help in the first place. Being told that certain services or assistance are unavailable can be discouraging at a time when patients are most vulnerable. Thank you for considering this feedback. My intention is to help improve the experience for both patients and staff.
I had the unfortunate experience of being hospitalized here in 2020. It was nightmare fuel. I’ve had my fair share of psych hospitalizations from places across the country and so I’ve seen some pretty horrendous things.… But nothing compares to the horrors of Centennial Peaks. During my stay I was stalked by a mentally unwell guy who would always tell me he wanted to hurt me and my hospital roommate ended up defending me physically. The staff here really didn’t have any idea of what they were doing. There was a patient who kept peeing herself in the public area and nothing was done about it other than giggles from the staff. The doctors were subpar and didn’t address any of my issues unfortunately. It’s been 6 yrs since that hospitalization and I’m so much healthier than I was back then, but I recently saw that this hospital was under investigation and so I wanted to put in my experience here as well (not that I think there are many staff still there today from when I was inpatient).
My family and I had an extremely concerning experience with Centennial Peaks Hospital regarding my uncle, who has lived with schizophrenia for more than 20 years and has never lived independently. After being… transferred from UCHealth, we were repeatedly denied the ability to speak with my uncle. Staff would not allow us to communicate with him, would not provide updates on his condition, and at times would not even confirm whether he was a patient there. When we attempted to follow up, we received conflicting information from multiple staff members. We were initially told he had been released to a family member. When we explained that this was impossible because we are his only close family and had not picked him up, we were then told he had been released to an anonymous person. We repeatedly asked for clarification about who he was released to and under what circumstances this decision was made. We also asked what evaluations and determinations were used to conclude that he could safely be discharged, given his long history of schizophrenia and the fact that he has never lived independently. Rather than providing answers or helping us understand the discharge decision, staff refused to provide additional information. Clearly because they realized they made a mistake. The only time we were finally able to obtain information about where he had been released was after involving law enforcement. Learning that he was ultimately transferred to a homeless shelter despite having family willing and able to assist him is deeply upsetting. Currently, there is no history of him at any homeless shelter and my uncle is missing. Our family has navigated mental health care for over two decades and has worked with numerous hospitals and providers. We have never experienced this level of poor communication, conflicting information, and lack of transparency. The entire situation caused significant distress for our family and raised serious concerns about patient discharge planning and communication with caregivers of individuals living with severe mental illness. *Editing after comment from Centennial Peaks was made - His legal guardian attempted to obtain information regarding his care and whereabouts, yet your staff refused to provide meaningful information or assistance. We were given contact information for someone who was supposedly assigned to help us, but that person has never returned our calls. On a previous visit, I was told there was no supervisor on-site and was given a phone number that was supposedly for a supervisor. It was actually your IT/Records department, who confirmed a house supervisor was present that day. We have repeatedly reached out by phone and in person and have been met with conflicting information, misinformation, and a lack of support. We hope you recognize the severity of this situation and take steps to improve how families are treated. And hopefully decide to support us as my uncle is still missing! Based on our experience, the lack of communication and accountability has had a significant impact on our family during an already difficult time.
Someone I sincerely care about shared their recent experience regarding their uncle and this clinic, and by god I got so tilted that I felt compelled to do something. Her and her family were treated poorly and if you… are considering bringing a love one to this hospital: don’t. Read through the reviews, it’s no wonder they average less than 3 stars!
