Central New Mexico Counseling Service – Los Lunas

Today me and my girlfriend had our first class of some much needed couples therapy. I will not direct this comment to CNMCS as a whole but solely to the provider we seen. Today was by the far the worst counselor I have… ever dealt with in my experience seeking help. Sky Fiske was the lady we were placed with….The class lasted a total of maybe 10 minutes. In those ten minutes Sky managed to give us her professional opinion based solely off her own past experience as well as her less than educated opinion of our situation backed by nothing more than ignorance and judgment. Unfortunately my wife and I were pretty disappointed as we thought we would have been leaving the class with something positive. Instead we eneded the telegraph meeting embarrassed not because of our issues but for how she chose to represent CNMCS.

I am really not the type of person to leave reviews, especially a negative review, but after a horrible counseling experience I feel the need to share with others with the understanding that a counselor I found to be… horrible may not be the experience of others. My husband and I met with this counselor on a few occasions. Initially we met with her to assist my son. I found her counseling approach extremely unprofessional and unethical. With her even referring to my 13 year old son as a “prick” (thankfully not in front of him). I found her making various assumptions about my husband and my son, such as my husband had no other children outside of the children we share together. Additionally, she offered her own personal opinions on our situation; which included a long and weird rant about gender roles and how a woman should never argue with a man’s ego, which was very strange coming from a woman in 2026. Overall, I would avoid this particular counselor like the plague, which is hard to say because she has a pretty cute dog.

No good service everyone is mad

O for 2 of their female couples counselors. Really abrasive, rude and controlling.

I attended marriage counseling with this therapist Patricia in March 2025 and had a very disappointing experience. While I appreciated that she allowed me to bring my son, she often shifted her attention to him during… our sessions, talking to him and taking up time that should have been focused on our counseling. There were also times when she did paperwork or even took a phone call during our appointment, which felt unprofessional and disrespectful of the time I was there for OUR session She used comments like “men think and women feel,” which didn't feel helpful or accurate. When I expressed wanting my husband to take weekends off so we could have family time, she told me I didn’t appreciate what he was doing which is not true. Instead of offering balance or understanding, I left feeling blamed and invalidated. I’m writing this now because I finally built up the courage after months of thinking about it. The experience has made it difficult for me to trust marriage counseling again because I’m afraid of being dismissed the same way. This was my honest experience.

This place is joke the counselors are very unprofessional took my 10 year old son to get help with his mental health and his counselor was gaslighting me talking down to me judging me I highly don't recommend this place… at all these counselors should be ashamed of them selfs and should not have a license.

I can't emphasize enough on how amazing Colleen and Jason Struthers are over here at this location! Colleen got me same day approval for a very important "Alcohol Screening" that I needed to have done as soon as… possible. I called many locations and this was the only place that made it happen instantly. Jason Struthers was my licensed professional clinical counselor and he was absolutely amazing at what he does! He has great awareness and he is very knowledgeable in what he does. His dog Joey also became a good friend of mine. Thank you!

Horrible service, was enjoying the straightforwardness until it turned into miscommunication. The office will not fully explain why you get dismissed other than stupid reasons, let alone them not calling you to make… sure everything is okay. I had to call them to find out what was going on and found out I got dismissed. Horrible communication and horrible care, the therapist I had, had no sympathy and said and I quote "the world is ruled by women right?" In regards to men. For anyone that wants to know what kind of therapist she is I would not recommend going here if you are at a low point in life and need guidance or help. She will make it worse. They are just looking for money because "they work for you"

Staff is always very welcoming and they work around my schedule with my 3 kiddos so that I benefit from my therapies

If you are in a domestic violence situation do not go here. First session advice was to not pursue court evidence, missed all obvious cues, sided with the abuser. I'm not sure if we can make next session, the children… and I were terrorized worse than normal today. What prompted this is not even due to anything discussed in session. This might have been different if someone was trained in recognizing abuse, or did a good case work up with both individuals before making conclusions. If you are in a DV situation please don't go here. Sloppy work. I see the reviews are bad here, if you have had an issue yourself, or lost someone to negligence please contact me.

I went today and spoke to a counselor. Told I been clen off meth. Which I'm proud of myself ... I told him I still smoke alitle weed . He tells me so you are still a drug addic. He didn't need to be Rude. He's there for… money not for help to anyone .. he know who I'm talking about . The company is great beautiful lady's in front . Much respect some that there people like him out to help . JOE ARMIJO

Patricia is unprofessional and emotionally scared my 8 year old daughter forever. Do not recommend her to anyone! Beware!

So stupid missed to appointments an the dropped me

I have been going to counseling for over a year and I am very grateful for Patricia and how much she has helped me in becoming the person I am. I would highly recommend her. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

My family member was seen here for nearly a year and his counselor made no progress. There was confusion about one missed appointment and I was charged the 50 dollar fee which is fine, but I cannot look beyond the… unprofessionalism of the organization as they discharged my young son after that missed appointment without even a phone call to let me know. And when asked why they would do that without even contacting the parent, I was met with disconcern and complete disregard for the wellbeing of his mental health. Make the trip to ABQ for better care.

I've been coming here for a few years now and I haven't had any issues. Any issues I have had were my own fault entirely (forgetting my appointment, etc.), but were quickly remedied. There is a responsibility one must… take when scheduling appointments, requesting to change therapists, etc., which is entirely expected! If you are prioritizing your mental health, know they will 100% work with you, but you still need to make an effort. I am glad I started coming here, as it's only about 20 minutes from home, and everyone is reliable, respectful, and professional. My mental health has improved immensely.

If I could give less I would. Gas is $5 a gallon and they have stopped telemedicine. SMH in a time when people need help the most they fail.

This is a very therapeutic practice! Love this place!

My experience with my counselor at Central New Mexico Counseling has truly been impactful to how I see myself and how I make better decisions in my life. Before I came here I was completely betrayed by a counselor and… his supervisor, really and truly completely betrayed. I didn’t want to go to another counselor ever again. My counselor at Central New Mexico Counseling is Patricia. She has restored my trust and has truly given me tools to become the person I want to be. She has helped me in too many ways to explain.

The team here is absolutely wonderful.

If I could give zero stars I would buy One star is the lowest I can rate. This is the most unprofessional counseling facility in Los Lunas they told me to call when I’m in the parking Lot for my 10:45 appointment, no… one answered and no one opened the door when I went up to the locked door. Before hand the receptionist told me I don’t have to wear my mask or follow the governors orders to do so once I got back to my counselor. I highly do not recommend going to Central New Mexico counseling. It’s already 11:35 and I refuse to even put myself through this unprofessionalism I haven’t even got a return call to reschedule or anything, clearly they’re not concerned about my mental health and I don’t believe they will care about yours either!! 👎🏼

If I could put no stars I would! Michael is the most unprofessional counselor I have ever seen. He after meeting my fiance two times for 45 min each time he told my fiance he didn't know why he was in this relationship… without even knowing background information or me. I have been in therapy before and my fiance went here for help not for some biased one sided opinion . Michael single handedly ruined my wedding! Counceling is supposed to help you work out your problems not give personal one sided opinions. I will be reporting him to the licensing commity for his unprofessional egregious actions! I see why they only have 3 stars those reviews mush have been on ther therapist because I know first hand Michael is a unprofessional quack! Dont waste your time or put the state of your relationships in his wacky hands he will not help you he will make it 100 times worse like he did to us! Michael deserves 0 stars needless to say my fiance does not attend here anymore! We are now working with a real professional to work out our original isssues as well as try to clean up the mess and very bad unprofessional advise Michael gave! He should be fired!!

Went to Patricia for Couples Counseling. On intake with me I was told "we don't always get what we want" when I said I wanted my marriage to work. On the first session, she told me to "get over" my cancer that I just… finished treatment for and am still in the surgery reconstruction phase of. She kept referring to herself and that she had surgery on her head and on her breast when she was young (wasn't cancer) and that she knows what's its like. She blamed me for attacking all the time and then, the last session, said she wished she had a husband like mine. She completely ignored that there are two of us and that WE both have a part to play in our marriage needing help. She was very unprofessional.
