Ive been coming here for a few years. The front desk staff are all kind and extremely helpful. The providers are also kind and do what they can to care for and help people. Ive had all good experiences here.

Consejo Mental Health Clinic in Mt. Vernon receives a scathing 1-star review due to their profoundly uncompassionate and inconsiderate staff. I went through a series of frustrating and detrimental experiences, beginning… with a last-minute cancellation of the initial appointment. Further issues arose during my subsequent telehealth appointment, where the staff provided misleading information regarding the release of medical records. Despite explicit requests for an emailed copy of the assessment for legal proceedings, the clinic has repeatedly refused, offering only in-person pickup, which is impossible as I am away out of state. I’ve made calls to the head office yielding no resolution, with staff members ultimately hanging up. This lack of empathy and responsiveness has severely impacted my mental wellbeing and legal situation, highlighting a significant failure in my out patient care.

My daughter has started going to counseling here. The front desk are so nice and welcoming! It’s scary at times when you can’t help your kids and need to ask for help. It makes it so much easier and comforting to have… the staff treat you so kindly. The counselor was very nice and my daughter felt comfortable talking with her and that’s not the norm. Very thankful for this place!

For me, I’ve had an okay experience with them. It took them over a month to score my assessment I needed for court asap but I ended up with a decent councilor who I actually look forward to talking to every week.… However both my husband and I have both tried to get him an appointment for an assessment as well but they either don’t answer, never return messages, and when they finally did answer even as his wife I was unable to even schedule him an appointment?! I don’t remember it being this difficult when I was making my appointment but maybe they have a new receptionist or different procedures now, who knows. Moral of the story is, you could end up with an awesome councilor like Marisa but you’re gonna have to wait and wait and persist and jump through all their stupid hoops to get there.

Consejo has been nothing but kind friendly helpful ever sense coming here. Front desk/Counselor's/Provider's all have been great. Highly recommend them.

Consejo has been a complete life changer for me. I was treated with kindness and respect from the very beginning. I have learned so much about myself. I am happy to say I am now clean and sober and have a new way of… life. My new journey has now begun. I'm am blessed and grateful for not only the services but for being treated with dignity and being heard as an individual and a human being! Thank you to Taya and James for making me feel heard and understood. You are very appreciated!!

I have had plenty of behavioral health issues in my 50+ years of life, and as many treatment facilities as well as mental health facilities. All have been a very positive action in my life. I have to say though that my… 1st visit to consejo mt vernon has renewed faith that there are truly good and understanding people dedicating there lives to listen and help (as long as we want it!). Today I had an assessment done by Alex. He was the best counselor I have ever had the pleasure to talk with. As well everyone else I dealt with there was absolutely great. I have Tourette syndrome as well as ptsd, adhd, mood and other mental disorders among the array of other things. I can get very uncomfortable and do not care for nor like dealing with many people..... The above mentioned have made my day very much better than days prior and I feel fortunate that I found this place and people! My whole family will benefit! I have learned though: I own my stuff; I have nothing to hide and everything to gain by being myself to better myself! Thank you Consejo and the mentioned: I look forward to the future visits. DM
