Was placed here by DFS when I was a kid. Out of 36 children I was the only white kid and because of that I dealt with alot of bullying and abuse by both the staff and other residents. The 2 years that I was there were… pure hell. There was a couple decent staff members that worked there. My two favorites were Ms Amy and Mr. Jeremy. Other than that pretty much all the rest of the staff was trash. The food was also barely edible and I got food poisoning multiple times while I was living there. DO NOT SEND YOURE KIDS HERE!!!
1 was in the home when it was called German St. Vincent Orphan Home. It was from 1943 until 1955. There were 100’sv of kids. If I wasn’t raised there l would be in jail now. I’m 82 years old and had a great life, thanks… to my upbringing at the home.
i love this plays was here for only 2 weeks and its like the kids and staff where family to me
This place is wonderful. My 15 yr old son has been troubled for a long time. He has been so abusive to my youngest son that I couldn't leave him alone with him anymore. I called this place for help and they literally… got him in the very next day. The staff have been wonderful to me and my son. The only thing I dont like is that it is only a 30 day program. I really wish it was longer. I think they could help alot more if they had the time. But 30 days will give you time to work on another place for them.
My children have been there for 30 days today, and from their own mouths, they would rather stay here than go anywhere else. that the therapist and people that work there are helping them and are very nice and trusting.… I'm happy to say I could finally relax knowing that none of these other accusations on these reviews are going on thank you St Vincent's for taking care of my boys
I lived here from 1960 to 1967 run by the sisters of Christian Charity at the time. great place but homesick. a well morally up bringing.
Entered in 1953. Left in 1958. Lot of good memories.
This place is awful, the staff is not trained properly!!!
I went to school here
I love this place I am currently a resident there and the staff isn't like the reviews say. In fact they are very respectful and only want what's best for the residents
A place to recover and move forward when the storms of life effect youth and they need a hand up. Professionalism is demanded here and any abuse or neglect is required per the laws that govern the safety and well-being… of children should be reported! The staff care and do the best they can with the troubled youth.
It's cool
One of my daughters is in this group home because of her behavior the Therapist lady by the name of Chanel Thomas has continued to get in my daughter face threatening her saying she will mess her records up to look bad… for the judge recently my daughter who at home with me was verbally attacked by Chanel she also stated that’s why my daughter was there acted very unprofessional with me and my daughters all because I requested not to work with her because she unprofessional Chanel has continued to lie on me and my family to draw the attention off her the cops are there on a daily and also realize this place is unprofessional all the workers work together to cover up the verbal and mental abuse they use on the kids my daughter has been attacked and all don’t send your animal there
Lived here as a child, tried to kill myself to get out because of sexual and physical abuse. Never let your child go here, the children are evil, even if they came in good, they leave damaged. The staff are horrible,… there were many times children made reports that were either ignored, or they were abused for reporting the abuse. I am not sure why they haven't shut down this home by now, it has taken me awhile to get over the pain they have caused me. I was in DFS over half my life. This place made me hate life, I was blessed to go to a better children's home, saved me.
I was here when I was 13-15. Don't let your children go here.it isn't safe
