Counseling Center at Toms River – Toms River

Constantly doing last minute cancels claiming that my daughter's Spravato medication wasn't delivered. This was the 4th time canceling in the last several weeks. They sent 2 confirmation emails today, so I dropped her… off here for treatment, only to have her wait for 30 minutes before they delivered the bad news. How did they not know they didn't have her meds until she showed up? This is the only anti-depressant that she is currently taking and she has missed the last 2 doses. I can't believe how irresponsible they are, and their turnover is really high so there isn't even a director that I can reach out to discuss. Terrible.

I loved this place the staff the cleanliness the support and love I got from this place was such a good experience . I learned a lot of things and contributed the tools that they Gave me to my everyday life . This place… truly did save me and my health. I recommend this place who is dealing with addiction and mental health ! - Sarah

This amazing place has changed my life in the best way possible, the staff, crew and people that come out for meetings are all there to help you in every way they can. So nice and caring. I am almost 400 days sober… thanks to them. Thankyou so so much for everything! You guys are the best!

The whole staff except for a one or two bad eggs was absolutely refreshing, they basically went above and beyond their job responsibilities to make you feel comfortable and at home. Treat others how you would like to be… treated m….

He was friendly honest very helpful and ask me to call if I want to or need to talk. To call anytime. He was very helpful. Thank you so much.

It was one of the best learning experience I had. Everyone was so helpful, caring, and understanding. My counselor Nicole was amazing couldnt have done it without her. The nursing staff did everything they could to make… things comfortable for my stay. I wouldnt have chose any where else. Thank you guys! G❤️

Had a beautiful stay at sunrise detox facility!! They treated me very well and got me thru some very tough days detoxing from alcohol!! I am now coming up on 19 months sober August 14th… thank you for your… professionalism n comfortable stay.. very glad we chose this place to change my life for good after many tries… counselors were very helpful in post detox recommending strategies to help cope with everyday life sober!!

I reached a really low point in my life, and almost didnt make it. Somehow I recieved another chance in life, And I decided to do something about it. You won't always get a therapist that fits you right the first time… but I was lucky. The staff at The Counseling Center are very kind, they were always there to greet me every morning I arrived, and the attention to my specific issues is unmatched. Thank you for, very literally, saving my life.

The staff is very caring I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars because the staff has a very large turnover.

My therapist has had a truly positive impact on my life, and I am grateful for everything they have done to help me grow. Through their patience, understanding, and encouragement, they have helped me see challenges from… a different perspective and taught me healthier ways to deal with difficult emotions. They never judged me for my mistakes or struggles. Instead, they listened, offered guidance, and reminded me that growth takes time and effort.

It took me a long time to get into therapy as i’ve been struggling with my mental health for well over 10 years now. I’ve found Lisa, my therapist, and she is my literal savior. I used to dread having to do any sort of… appointment, but I look forward to talking to her every week. She’s helped me a lot with handling my anger, trauma, and finding a better outlook/perspective on life. I 100000% recommend The Counseling Center if you’re looking for help. 🤍

Very welcoming and after a few times it felt like family the way you get greeted and my therapist dom always made sure I was comfortable

They helped me tremendously when I started IOP in February. Intake was a little messy they put down the wrong appointment time but everything was smooth after that. Then during 4th of July I was informed that nearly all… the staff either resigned or were fired with no notice or thought on how it would affect the patients care. I attended group twice weekly and therapy individually. For a month the counselors were inconsistent and unable to setup the zoom calls leaving many without services. To fire an entire staff without one in place is not putting the needs of the clients first and was very selfish to do especially in this line of work where clients depend on structure, routine, and consistency. After a month of putting up with the inadequacies I decided to find a new program that would be better suited for my needs. I hope they are able to turn around the mess they have made. Firing an entire staff abruptly with no plan in place was completely reckless.

No wonder the reviews are so bad. I came today to come to group where I have been coming to group since sept of 2023. The new director Dan made it a point to say I was coming at an incorrect time since no one showed up… for group. I had prior arrangements with people here saying I can come for my hour of outpatient when I get off of work. For Dan to try and make it a point to say I come at an incorrect time when all I asked where Iop is since I got an email it was in person. Dan said No one showed… No wonder why no one shows up to this place for Iop and outpatient I will be reaching out to the bbb regarding this place. And to “new director” Dan , good luck with your new position 😁

I know that this time around I learned more about Myself from the staff then the clients...because they weren't trying to boost their ego...I felt like they understood My type of crazy and excepted Me just the way I am.

0/10. HORRIBLE INDIVIDUAL MEDICATION MANAGEMENT. NOT ONLY HAVE I RUN OUT OF THE MEDICATION THEY PRESCRIBED ME BUT THEY COMPLETELY IGNORE ME NEEDING TO BE SEEN FOR THE ALLERGIC REACTIONS IT CAUSED. I ALMOST DIED FROM MY… TONGUE SWELLING IN MY SLEEP AS IM IN THE ER AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IVE BEEN HAVING HIVES FOR OVER 3 WEEKS / STUCK WITHOUT AN OPTION. THIS SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL. 0/10.

Absolutely terrible for individual medication management. Told me that they had late appointment options or weekends to work woth my work schedule. Set me up with someone that is the complete opposite of my preferences.… The NP continued to ask me about medication I haven't taken in years every single appointment (like seriously? Take notes or listen to your patient.) Dr. Mesode took no care in me as a patient, had me consistently repeating myself to the point that it became beyond frustrating. Needed my meds prescribed in 3 month supply to work with my insurance. Prescribed it once and then stopped prescribing it that way because she kept zero notes on me as a patient. How else can you screw that up. For me the job was simple, the meds I'm on work, I'm happy and healthy while on them. They just do not pay any attention to what they're doing or what their patients need. I wouldn't touch The Counseling Center again with a 10 foot pole unless I was paid an exuberant amount of money. And even then I'm sure would still complain. 0/5 would not recommend to anybody who needs actual monitoring and medication management.

Come here for some good old fashion trauma
