I've worked in the field of Mental Health and Addiction for 25 years. I've had multiple family members in treatment across different levels of care. I can confidently say that I would refer a family member to Desert… Star because of the quality of programming, experience of the clinicians, and based on the outcomes of the clients we've sent to Desert Star.

The Desert Star Program is very good and and effective part of any recovery. My classes were all virtual, however I'd recommend In-Person if possible to connect better with the other participants and the facilitator.

I have referred several people to Desert Star and the staff is always very prompt in providing service, making sure it is the right service for individual needs, and everyone I have referred there has had nothing but… positive things to say about their treatment there. To me, it is the best place for addiction and mental health treatment in the city.

As a person with decades of Recovery from Drugs and Alcohol as well an employee who has worked at many treatment facilities and hospitals in the Tucson region I can honestly say I would not hesitate to refer a family… member or friend to Desert Star. There staffs professionalism, expertise and passion is unmatched and their compassion for those seeking recovery has saved lives and families.

In 2012 I attended an out patient program for addiction. Desert Star provided a safe and welcoming environment for me to get honest with myself, create a new mindset, and push through the triggers that kept me helpless… and ultimately keeping me from living my best life. I am clean and sober for 9.5 years now. Happily married and a proud father to a 20 month old. I do believe the ground work for my addiction recovery started here at Desert Star. I am forever grateful for the support I received here in the early part of my journey to a life free from drugs and alcohol. Thanks to all who have supported me.

Best support I've ever had; support i never knew existed!!! From my group members (my family) as well as our group leaders! This support is my everything!!!! I never imagined I could receive the support I'm receiving… now! Thank you Dessert Star and everyone that makes the wheels go round to make YOU exist!! Amy, Susie, Marie, Arturo, Caila, Devon, Rose and anyone else that has provided the care and support that I only ever dreamed I could have (you are my friends; my people)!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!

Very deceptive practices, they told me 10 co pays per visit to then now tell me I owe them thousands that the insurance company won’t cover. Nicole & Amy do this and think people will just stay in the program and pay… the higher rate. Talked to my insurance company And it states iop treatment has a 20 co insurance and you have to reach your deductible they knew this the insurance company stated !

Amazing Experience. Leaving a full time residential facility and then stepping down to an IOP b/c I had to go back to work was really scary and honestly really hard. I would not have made it through without Desert… Star's support and continued care. The amount of support you feel from the staff and you know that they truly care about you is just such a unique experience. I wouldn't be where I am today in my recovery journey without Desert Star. The Director Amy, and my care team Calley, Devyn, Dezi and Susie; you saved my life and I will be forever grateful to all of you.

I can honestly say that Desert Star is the biggest piece of why I am alive today. I tried for five years to get sober, during that time the administration team and staff never gave up on me. They lovingly stood by me,… encouraging me and holding me up until I could stand on my own. I jokingly say that "I was born at Desert Star" but in actuality it is the truth. Before attending their program I had no idea who I was or who I wanted to be or how to be "me" without the alcohol, unhealthy relationships or unhealthy eating behavior. Because of Desert Star my children and grand-children have a mother and gramma that not only is alive but one that they can depend on to be there for them.

This center is honestly lifesaving. Their focus is on helping the whole person and all aspects, not only addiction, but also relationships, boundary issues, codependency, trauma, etc. The result for me, is that finally… all the puzzle pieces came together and make sense; I can see the full picture which is exactly what I needed in order to heal. The staff is professional and truly caring; all are very experienced in their fields, and also have a sense of humor that makes the experience valuable, meaningful, & enjoyable, but most importantly - it works. This center saved my life, and I wish I could give them more than just 5 stars!

In the end it is only about money! I had a substantial refund that they never informed me about for 2 years. Once I discovered this it took Months of phone calls and emails to get my money refunded. They withheld 10%… once again a significant amount as a processing fee can I give them no stars

The staff here are top notch being my first experience and not knowing what to expect was scary. However from the moment you walk in the receptionist greet you by name and are very helpful. Amy does an excellent job… explaining the program and working to what is best for your needs and recovery. They have brilliant staff that lead groups with vast amount of knowledge skills and personal training experience helps it be a judgement free zone. Richard and Amy are very accommodating and understand life happens and work with your schedule as best as possible. It’s a great facility and a really great place to be safe comfortable and meet greet people all while recovering. I don’t need to sale this program because it speaks for its self!!! I was skeptical but I am a believer!! To Richard ,Amy ,Susie ,Stu ,Rosie ,Vicki And Tony thank you all YOU SAVED MY LIFE. I recommend this place to anyone who is tired and exhausted stop by take a tour you will see for your self ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

An absolute train wreck The director and his crew are lobbying for services that benefit their bottom line and not the well-being of the people who are seeking help. I never imagined, having taken the step and finding… the courage to participate for my life in their program, that I would be told that I was not welcome back for stating that I did not need to participate in a particular group ; it was not of benefit to me. Unkind. A director with an ego and not the least bit of care for the people he is charged with helping. I shake my head at the fact that people in need would be faced with so much ugliness. Those who are working the system and sliding through, maybe it works. Those who are truly looking inward , this is a place to be cautious of.
