About Four County Mental Health Center Inc – Independence

Four County Mental Health Center Inc operates from 3354 Highway 160 in Independence. The site sits in Montgomery County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Coffeyville, Neodesha and Sedan. Kansas draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Four County Mental Health Center Inc

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

5 different ppl told us 5 different things, signed releases for ppl, then they still weren't going to send info where it needed to go. Asked questions that had nothing to do with why we're there. And argued withbme what… his last name was. I think we would know.Just trying to help our son. In long run they did more damage to both kids!

Excellent service. They are very flexible. I've been with them for 4 years. They have lots of resources and programs available. They helped me into drug/alcohol rehab at no cost to me. If you don't get the best fit for… your therapist the first time, it's very easy to find a better fit. These people are life savers.

The thing that horrified me the most about early "miracles" were that so often they seemed to come at an expense to someone else. However, now I see that often they come in pairs either identical pairs or in tandem,… perhaps a few among a similar vein, and those are the kind I try solely to for the best. The important thing I pray for is the LORD to bring to fruition the good and not so good just lost but the good ones we want to keep the good miracles those are the ones we like long or permanent the bad ones not so much we like letting go of the bad ones and only keeping the good ones is our preference I think pretty much everyone agrees on that we hope the good ones last and there's a whole neat little network here to help towards these ends.

They like to taunt people! If I didnt have so much clean time they would bother me but they cant! Im sure the people that are fresh into there journey i hope you don't have to start here cause this place truly not a… place to start something that is already so hard! They just make it so much harder not all but most! They also said I kept singing the form they could talk to my old drs they were old for a reason they wouldnt even build there own goals with me ! Idk how they sleep at night but I pray for them on they daily to get in gear with what people need! Thanks

So a patient calls in and says he is going to commit suicide and your response is to cancel his appointments. If I had to judge all mental health on the care that my family member has received from this facility I would… say this is why people with mental health issues don’t seem to get better. His meds are never right, they don’t seem concerned with getting them right which makes me wonder if they are funded more by pharmaceutical companies, he was getting really sick and had to be hospitalized multiple times. Way to just bill insurance and not help at all. We need to do better.

I am going through the exact same thing. I rescheduled my son's appointment and they said I didn't and was a NCNS and are refusing to refill my sons meds and we moved up his appointment sooner and they won't give him… any to last him until then making a 10 year old come down off a controlled substance. I would not recommend this facility it is horrible

Son goes without medication all weekend!!! No real help for my child. Just medicated and therapy and we’re getting no where….: Where’s the actual help? I can’t even get his pills filled by the doctors once a month it’s… always a fight!!! All i have got is fight after fight trying to keep his meds filled and get him help. I love being pushed to the side!!! Let’s get some more doctors or nurses or something so kids are going all weekend without!!!!!!!

Continually ignores requests related to handling of my mentally handicapped brother's affairs. Case managers suggest activities that conflict with past legal incidents. Reception staff contacts my brother--who is on… mental disability--regarding his account issues instead of contacting us, his guardians.
