I attended Fresh Start Counseling in LaPorte, Indiana for court-ordered classes, and I had a very positive experience. The counselor assigned to me, Mr. Julian Ramos, was professional, understanding, and great to work… with. We connected right away, which made the process much easier. I highly recommend Fresh Start to anyone in need of court-ordered counseling services.

This place is a bad joke, their liars and scammers, especially the guy that pretends to run it, while his sister i guess is the director but plays secretary, they listen to nothing you say an then lie to scam you into… months of classes an alot of $, they told me i had to do a min of 4 months of weeklyclasses, because of charges ive never had in my life, an that they wanted about $2k, they lied so much and about what I had to do and threatened to throw in drug and alcohol classes that the court didnt order when i told them they were wrong, they did get me for a few hundred for 3 meetings b4 i was told to leave because i recorded their lies and scam, in the end all i had to do was a 1 hour online class for court, i could go on but, just know these people are scammers, look into what your court requires, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM, Save your $ an time an dont be scammed by these pathetic liars !

Once you get on track with the right counselor, it is an amazing experience! My partner and I had a rough start here acclimating to the right counselor that fit our needs. We were becoming a toxic end to something that… was beautiful together in the beginning. Consistently having unhealthy communication if any at all, silent treatments, separations, raging arguments and a volatile lifestyle that neither one of us could endure anymore. We found an amazing counselor here by the name Julian and he became our saving Grace. Now we're on our way to building something that's epic, something that we could both be proud of. We are far from perfect but we found the love that we didn't know still existed. We were able to uncover the love that all are hateful arguments buried. We were able to find us again. Julian is an amazing counselor and our relationship gets stronger with every session ❤️.

They are scamming people out of money. I’m not sure how they were given a job through the courts. Had 36 classes paid for 34 via my checking account and my exit fee. I had taken some cash payments up there a few times… as well. I know for a fact I over paid them. When trying to prove my case I was told if I wanted my court documents signed I had to pay for two more classes and pay an exit fee again!! They claim my exit fee was put toward a class. I’m not sure what math they are doing but the fact I have a paper trail as proof and still had to pay more money is crazy! They are nasty, rude, and thieves!! The classes are a joke. No way is this helpful to ANYONE!! You have to start every class saying who you battered!! They are weird as hell!!

I had many counseling sessions with Fresh Start. They helped me alot and I highly recommend them!
