One of the best detox i ever been in.this is my third time .hope last one.i got very lucky have Christopher as my nurse.the best of the best.the best recovery nurse i ever had.more nurses like him and people won't be… walking out of detox.knowing that this could be last chance that they might get.Christopher thanks so much .food good . rooms clean.when they say that they will give you most comfort..Thats what they do.
The staff here are amazing. The place itself is amazing. This is where you want to go if you need some help!
This place saves a lot of my friends life's and my own ! . The staff is amazing, the food is homemade and there's lots of it . You can smoke it's co Ed . Tv in your room . You only share a room with one other person.… You get to keep your clothes you come in with .
It's never fun to go through detox but the staff here make it as comfortable as possible. I also had several anxiety attacks during my stay and the nursing staff were highly compassionate in helping me through them.
Staff is great, food amazing, hands down best detox in Minnesota!!
This place saved my life. Staff and nursing did a really good job when it came to getting me the help i needed. I can't express to you how amazing of a place Gateway is. If you are wanting to start a path to recovery… give it a try, the worst you can do is not like it. My sober date is 11-4-25 and it all started here! Thank you!
Amanda, Chris, and Barb were the most caring and excellent nursing staff I could have ever hoped for. Natalie was our chef and on Valentine’s Day she made us Beef Wellington…..like cmon! This place is amazing and… continues to get me back up on my feet. 1,000 million plus starts to this detox. I could not have asked for a better experience.
It's shocking to me that the Inver Grove Heights Gateway Recovery Center doesn't have a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating. I personally would give them a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if possible. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel cared for and… are very quick to help with any needs you may have. I don't recall her name but the tech that helped me when I first got there was so kind and welcoming she was actually the deciding factor of my stay. Chris puts his heart and soul into his work and patients, I've seen him a hand full of times staying late to talk with someone or even a group that was going through difficult times and he managed to give them a better outlook on the situation and gave them hope again. Myself included. Amanda, Octavia, and Chris, are hands down the best team I've ever seen, and I've hand many different jobs and have been to more detox's than I'd like to admit, just seeing them interact with one another gave me the will to want to do better for myself so I could possibly have that bond with my coworkers one day. Barb is such a nice lady and Sydney was as well. God Bless you all.
Horrible Detox facility. First they push for cash stating insurance probably won’t cover the cost. Then when you find out it does, they do absolutely nothing to promote and help offset the financial burden. Second,… there was not medical oversight when I was there, no ‘detox’ medication or vitamins were administered as in ‘professionally run’ medical detox facilities. In fact there were multiple ambulances that came when a person became non-responsive or not mentally capable of responding. This is a money grab with no care or sensitivity to the patient. My experience
If I could give this place 0 stars I would, they never answer your calls and then they say "get help now" on their website. It's ABSOLUTELY BULLSHIT.
This is an amazing place. I was here 3 years ago. I have remained healthy, clean, sober and now work in mental health and substance abuse field. Forever grateful. Thank you!
Called them 97 times and nobody answered. So much for helping people. If you're full just tell me. And don't tell me you were doing rounds. It was over an hour and a half.
Incredible experience, I've been to 1 other detox facility before but this one blew it out of the water . TV in your room, great med staff, ability to get snacks and food at anytime of day. Awesome. Like tons of snacks… and beverages. You'll be sick of Gatorade by the time you leave. Awesome aftercare setup team. I had a spot in an aftercare before I left with no gap time. Definitely helped my sobriety. Can't give enough props to the nurses , they deal with some shit but they were so nice and caring. Never upset or making you feel like a burden for asking for help. God forbid I relapse again but I'd for sure make it back to gateway before doing it alone at my house again. 100xs over .
Purposely don’t call you back if you’re the one booking the appointment, I was told I’d get a call back “any day now” and then a week later I called and then they said “we will call you right back” and never did. Thanks… a lot gateway, you’re really helping people not get the proper help they need. From my personal experience, they scold you for whatever you’re in there for and treat you differently if you’ve ever needed to go there multiple times.
It’s bullshit. They’re not there for you when you call because you’re just sent you a voice message team. You need to A rehab facility in order to send you to a detox. That’s the only way to go Work because the rehab… facility will help you get in there faster than if you call yourself.
Great place to detox an relaxer an yo mind rt, plus the food is great an they have great staff 24/7.... This is the best way way to detox an they make sure u feel NO pain at all...
When you call this place and want to talk to someone who is staying at this facility it is extremely hard to get a hold of somebody who works there to hand over the phone to that person. What do you do if there is an… emergency 😒 not good but the stay is good
I find something very suspicious with this place... I was forced to go here by my family. I don't drink and of course I show up and blow .000 on three different machines. Still I was forced to sign paperwork to stay for… three days. After three days I meet with the interventionist and I see him sneak off and talk to one of the nurses privately. Now all of a sudden I am forced to stay for 5 days to "finish my medication." So I spent 5 days here for alcohol and was sober, while I watched other people get turned away at the door because there are not enough beds. They got $25k from my insurance since they knew I have very good insurance and all I got was caught on my Netflix shows I haven't watched...
If you WANT the recovery this is the best place in the TC
Such a great place. First of all it’s a resort. It’s a relaxing environment. I think it’s amazing that the state has places like this literally designed to help you come off of drugs and alcohol. Take advantage of it… it’s probably the nicest place you could go to come off whatever.
This place was awesome for detox. The nurses were great, never had a bad experience with them. I treated them with respect, and they did the same in return. They do a urine test when you arrive. At night, they offer… sleep meds like Seroquel and Trazodone, but only before 3 AM. You also get comfort meds like hydroxyzine, gabapentin, muscle relaxers, Zofran, and more. Depending on your withdrawal symptoms, they give Subutex, Phenobarbital, and Valium. Those are the med names I remember, but there are more. The room felt like a hotel, and the food was honestly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Plus, free snacks. There's no laundry service though. You can smoke outside, but bring your own cigarettes because they don’t sell them there, and people will definitely ask you for some, so stock up. No nicotine vapes or phones are allowed. They have one computer you can use and 3 landline phones that are shut off at 11 PM. The rooms upstairs have a bathroom with a toilet and sink, and there are private showers outside of the rooms. Each room has 2 beds + 1 smart TV with YouTube and other streaming services (if you have your own account), plus free cable with hundreds of channels. It's also soundproof enough so you don't hear other TVs. The techs were super helpful when I was feeling anxious or worried, don’t hesitate to talk to them. Overall, my experience was really positive. Now that I’m back home and looking into inpatient rehab, I actually miss it there and the comfort meds. I've been sober and recovering since my stay. I met a lot of cool people. There are three main hangout spots: the dining area, the outdoor smoking area, and a downstairs space with a big smart TV. They even have board games to play.
