GenPsych Brick – Brick Detox and Rehab Services
GenPsych Brick – Brick is listed as running partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Sessions follow a set timetable while people keep living at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.
Mental health and substance use are handled together rather than in sequence. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

GenPsych Brick – Brick Reviews and Ratings
A licensing record says what GenPsych Brick is permitted to do. Reviews from patients and their families say what treatment in Brick was like, and those accounts are collected in this section.
Deirdre was great to work with. Listened to thoughts, questions, comments, and concerns with grace and professionalism. Would recommend.
GenPsych helped me tremendously. It was my first time seeking help for my disease and before attending the sessions there I didn’t even recognize that I was addicted. I am now in an ongoing program of recovery and am… very thankful for their role in that choice. My counselor, Brielle, was excellent. All the therapists were understanding and insightful. Ande was not only helpful but very supportive and forced me to look at things from a different perspective which was vital to me moving forward. I’m grateful to GenPsych and would encourage anyone who feels like they need help to seek them out. It could change your life for the better.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about GenPsych and the incredible people who work there. Walking through their doors was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my mental health and recovery. I came in… during one of the most difficult periods of my life, and I left with hope, practical tools, and a renewed belief that healing is possible. Every member of the staff treated me with kindness, compassion, dignity, and genuine respect. I never felt like just another patient. I felt heard, understood, and cared for by people who truly love what they do. They created an environment where it was safe to be vulnerable, to face difficult emotions, and to work on becoming a healthier version of myself. I especially want to recognize my therapist, Deidra. She is truly exceptional. Her patience, insight, compassion, and ability to listen without judgment helped me more than I can adequately express. She challenged me when I needed it, encouraged me when I felt discouraged, and celebrated every bit of progress along the way. She has a remarkable gift for helping people see possibilities in themselves that they may not be able to see on their own. I also want to recognize Magdalena, the physician assistant. Without exaggeration, she is the best psychiatric provider I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She took the time to truly understand me instead of simply treating symptoms. She listened carefully, explained everything thoroughly, and worked with me to find the right treatment plan. Her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine concern for my well-being gave me tremendous confidence throughout my recovery. I always felt that she was invested in my healing, and that made all the difference. What impressed me most about GenPsych is that everyone works together as a team. From the therapists to the medical providers to the support staff, you can feel that they genuinely want every patient to succeed. Recovery isn’t easy, but having people like this walking beside you makes the journey far less overwhelming. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, or other mental health challenges, I wholeheartedly recommend GenPsych. Asking for help is one of the hardest things a person can do, but this is a place where you will be met with compassion instead of judgment and encouragement instead of criticism. My sincere hope is that I never have to return because that would mean I continue living the healthy life they helped me build. But if life ever brought me back, I would do so with complete confidence and gratitude, knowing I would once again be surrounded by an extraordinary team of caring professionals. Thank you to everyone at GenPsych for helping me heal, grow, and rediscover hope. The impact you’ve had on my life is something I will never forget.
A great experience, guidance in my recovery to get back up on my feet. I would highly recommend their services.
I can’t say enough good things about Gen Psych’s IOP program. From the moment I started, everyone made me feel welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. The program provided me with the tools, guidance, and… encouragement I needed during a difficult time, and I’m grateful for the positive impact it has had on my life. A special thank you to my therapist, Marina, for her compassion, patience, and dedication. She always took the time to listen and helped me work through challenges in a way that made me feel understood and supported. I’d also like to recognize Ande for creating such a positive and encouraging environment throughout the program. Their ongoing support and professionalism made a real difference in my experience. Michelle at the front desk was always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She made scheduling and check-ins easy and was always willing to assist with any questions or concerns. Finally, thank you to Brielle and Dr. Magdalena for their professionalism and care. Magdalena would take the time to listen and help ensure I received the support I needed throughout treatment on a bi weekly basis. The entire team at Gen Psych truly goes above and beyond for their patients. I would without a doubt recommend this program to anyone looking for compassionate, professional mental health care. Thank you all for everything you’ve done for me on this journey.
It has taken me several years to write this review because I felt that this was a me problem but now that I am getting ready to work in the mental health field and have the appropriate knowledge and training on how… things should be handled, I know this needs to be said. I attended GenPsych Brick from Nov 2019 through Feb 2020 in their ED program which I heard is no longer available. During my time there I was basically bullied by other group members and this was not only witnessed by, but allowed by the program therapists. I also was treated very poorly by my psychiatrist there to the point where I had a breakdown and had to request a transfer to a new psych. I did not get my allotted time with a dietician; in my time there, I saw her 3 times. Also the meals were ordered every single day from restaurants; if you know anything about ED recovery, this is not a helpful approach for the PCP/IOP level. I left that program with a worse ED than when I entered and was able to completely lie my way through the program. I am now doing very well, but that is no thanks to GenPsych Brick. I am glad that this program no longer exists. The reason I do not give this 1 star is because other programs at this location has helped people I know so I don't want to discredit the entire center. It's important to acknowledge the harm that this program did though.
GenPsych helped me when I was in a very difficult place in my life. I live an hour from Brick and they were very accommodating doing a hybrid program where I went virtual and in person. My therapist was Ande and she was… amazing. She was easy to talk to and gave great guidance and advice when I was in a huge time of change in my life. She understood and really cared about my well being.
I'm not a first time winner at recovery but every time l've felt like I needed a little structure in my life to give me the extra boost I needed to get me back on track I've enrolled at GenPsych and l've never had a bad… experience. Everyone that works here will go to the end of the earth to help you from the administrative staff such as Michelle all the way to the therapists including my personal therapist at the facility named Ande. Ande has been a tremendous help to me since day one and has helped me with getting out of my own way and has aided me on my path of recovery and self discovery. They focus on multiple areas of mental health whether it's substance abuse or just depression/anxiety. They also provide transportation depending how close you are to the facility. Overall I think it's a great program that almost anyone can benefit from.
Experienced IOP with Brielle, Evelyn, and Dedra. They were nothing but kind and caring. My therapist Evelyn was extremely helpful and supportive throughout my recovery. A must go for mental health. Thank you ladies for… all your help and support.
This place has alot of great resources to offer. My prescriber is Magdelina. She listens carefully and came up with a plan to meet my needs in recovery. My therapist Marina is personable & phenomenal. I wish all… therapists were like her. Not to mention Michelle at the Front Desk is very helpful and stays on top of submitting paperwork in a timely manner. Groups inc DBT were very helpful as well. The therapist who run the groups are very patient. My time here is being well spent. Highly recommended
This place does good work, but then drops off in the most important part, the discharge? After completing a 6week program and all going well , discharge papers never get sent to your new therapy office therefore… hindering you from being able to make an appt or get refills on medication, after numerous phone calls and even driving over to the location , paperwork still hasn't been sent , medication hasn't been refilled and when we asked if they could at least fill a 30 day script to hold us over they said ..... ready..... we can't you've been discharged !!!!!!!!!Way to go, great way to ensure the success of those who have completed your program. We finished the week of thanksgiving and are still trying to get papers sent over! This is Unacceptable ! Don't bother trying your best during those 6 weeks you'll just deal with no therapy and withdrawal from Meds for months. Save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere .
Beware of being overcharged!!! My daughter attended Genpsych Manalapan 2025 (that office since closed). They would charge my credit card each week for the portion not covered by insurance. I realized after my daughter… finished the program they had overcharged me $318.00. At first they denied it until I provided proof. Then the billing person Nelsie promised a refund…. That was in August. It is now December and no refund has been received. I have emailed and called several times and been ignored. Don’t get scammed by this place!!! Not worth it!
Genpsych is full of therapists that are so helpful, supportive, and genuinely nice people. This is my second time in here and I benefit everyday from the positive feedback from the groups to the counselling from the… therapists. I wish everyone I know would go here cause it would only benefit them in so many ways
I was very pleased with my treatment here.
Best facility for treatment of Dual Diagnoses. 10/10 reviews - very receptive, caring, kind, intellectual, capable and grounding staff. God bless!
This is the only therapy I’ve tried that has genuinely helped me change. The people really make the place, one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. 100/10
Andy and Sharon have been pivotal to my recovery. I was hopeless before I started this program and didn’t think anything could or would change. Both of these councilors have helped me to grow, process, and maintain a… life that I never thought I’d have. Thank you for saving my life. I highly recommend the program because of these two women and the dedication they have to helping others.
Genphyc Brick is absolutely amazing — they truly changed my life. I want to give a special thank you to my counselor there, Ande. It’s rare to come across professionals who are both deeply compassionate and incredibly… skilled at what they do. Ande was the first person I’ve worked with who genuinely helped guide me on my path to sobriety. I checked into Genphyc Brick in August of last year and completed the program in November. I chose to wait until I reached one full year sober before writing this review, to make sure the tools and support I received really held up in the long term. I’m proud to say that they absolutely did — I’m now over a year sober. The meetings, the skill-building, the continuous support — all of it helped lay the foundation for lasting change in my life. I can’t thank Genphyc and Ande enough for everything they’ve done. Without a doubt, this is a 5-star experience.
Had been dealing with a lot of personal issues and reached out to GenPsych for assistance. My counselor Ande was phenomenal. She was incredibly helpful in giving advice on how to deal with day to day problems and… issues. Extremely easy to talk to and very welcoming. At no point did I feel I could not reach out to her when life was getting too hectic. I can’t thank her enough!
They didn't help me with my issues and didn't tell me I would have to self pay and now I owe them $4000 they're not gonna waive even though they did not warn me my insurance was terminated
This is a terrible team of psych doctors. All they want to do is push antidepressants and other meds that they know don’t work and will never work. Since leaving this company I’ve found peace and got my life back with a… different psychiatrist. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I’d give it negative stars if I could. IF YOU VALUE YOUR SELF STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
When I arrived to GenPsych i was in an awful state and did not see light at the end of the tunnel. I didn’t see a tunnel at all. Took me a while, but after 11 or so weeks in the DBT track I am a completely different… person. It wouldn’t be without all the individuals that make up this incredible facility. Thank you for all your help people of GenPsych thank you for helping me discover the potential I never knew I had.
The staff is wonderful and my condition has improved greatly.
I went here when I was in middle school still ! It sucked they fed us pizza only everyday . For lunch there was no other option . They did not provide any help and just shoved medication in my face since I’m old enough… to talk about it . They diagnose me with everything that u can think of depression anxiety ! Etc .. I never had any I was proscribed a medicine I had an allergic reaction to ! And they said it was just how it worked . Lol I ended up in the hospital . This place sucks the therapist suck . They don’t help u at all I’m 19 years old now . And perfectly happ with 0 problems lol I mean we all have problems but none they tried to say I had .
The staff has no accountability. Was assigned a therapist supposed to be seeing weekly, Kristi Brochon, three weeks went by with her not providing therapy. When I asked about a different therapist I was told that the… policy is to work it out with your therapist. So during your intensive outpatient therapy you need to be on guard at all times. When I did switch therapists it was never included in the system and Kristi was still listed. Tried speaking with Brooke DePaul in regards to these problems but she stopped responding to emails. Was referred to a Catherine who was supposedly head of all programs. She never got in touch with me except for one phone call attempt she did to my cell while I was in session at GenPsych. My calls were left unanswered. They do not communicate with each other as a staff and play the blame game. The only bright spot is Albert Kwimi, a psychiatrist there who is wonderful. Beware!
i really enjoyed this program it has helped me a lot with my dual diagnosis. everyone from the staff to the clients were a pleasure to be around. the groups are very helpful and informative and i especially liked carla… and samail they helped me a lot on my one on ones but some other gems are keith, saumya, jim, the yoga teacher, music mike, kira, all of the interns i really liked priscilla she was so helpful and her groups awesome. to be honest i can’t find anything wrong with anyone there everyone was really supportive and i needed that during this tough time i feel i was listened to and heard during my times of weakness and given tools to move forward. i am sad to say goodbye but happy to move forward. i will miss samail and carla so much they were always holding me accountable and helping me with the coping tools to be present in my emotions and not in fight or flight. for thirty years i feel like i’ve been in fight or flight and now i have the tools to be able to move forward in a positive way and to help my kids as well. this program is not like any other and it was actually something i looked forward to going to everyday every staff member i liked which is rare but i couldn’t find anyone i didn’t like and the groups were very interactive i liked how the groups everyone provided feedback i needed the processing groups too they are helpful. thank you for everything genpysch you will be missed ! xoxo
