GenPsych – Princeton Detox and Rehab Services

The provision listed at GenPsych – Princeton is partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

Combined treatment is not recorded, which is worth checking before committing. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

GenPsych – Princeton Address, Location and Contact Information

Records give the address as 932 State Road, Princeton, New Jersey, 8540. Mercer County covers this area. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. Journey time and parking are not trivial details when treatment runs several times a week over months.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

How Much Does Treatment at GenPsych – Princeton Cost?

Rehab paid for privately in New Jersey typically costs $9,000 to $18,000 a month for a partial hospitalization program and $1,500 to $6,000 a month for standard outpatient care. That is a guide only, as published prices for GenPsych were not found at the time of writing.

Standard inclusions are the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling. It is fair to assume GenPsych works the same way, but that is an assumption. Ask the facility which therapies and medications cost extra.

Honestly I’ve never experienced such unprofessionalism from a mental health organization. The providers and staff in charge of appointments for clients have no urgency. They cancel appointments with very little notice,… did not ask if I needed to reschedule. But if I cancel an appointment within the time span they did to me I’d have to pay $100. They have no urgency or even concern for the clients who are on mental health medication. I made an appointment to get a refill of my prescription with a provider. My provider canceled with less than 24 hours for the appointment, the appointment staff message me to tell me and to ask if I need a refill but not if I need to reschedule. I was going to go on vacation the following week and urgently needed a refill. Nobody from the office got back to me and now my vacation was 3 days away. So I had to basically have a mental breakdown on the phone to anyone who would pick up the phone (because nobody answers the phone at this organization) but after several mental breakdowns and leaving multiple voicemails they were able to relay that I needed a refill. But I was basically ignored for almost a week right before vacation when I would desperately need a refill as I was going to run out. I’ve never felt so vulnerable and uncared for and the anxiety it caused was even more intense. You would think that as people who work for a mental health organization that they would care about the people being medicated for mental health problems, but it’s not that way at all. The therapists are all wonderful, but the provider I had and the appointment staff seem too busy to care about anything.

My experience at Gen Psych PC was excellent. I’m especially grateful to my therapist, Bailee, for her support and guidance in helping me improve my mental health. The entire staff was kind, welcoming, and professional.… I’d also like to give a special thank you to Katie and Alex for their outstanding care and support. I highly recommend Gen Psych PC to anyone seeking compassionate and quality mental health services.

I had a wonderful experience with GenPsych and truly can’t thank them enough. Everyone who works here from the front office to the clinical team is nice, helpful, and supportive. It was such a relief to see my daughter… learned some coping skills and able to get back into her routine, thanks for their compassionate and professional care.

I am very grateful for therapist Alex Z. and all the staff at GenPsych Princeton who carefully supported my daughter- the transformation has been incredible. The small group and therapeutic environment created a safe… space she looked forward to attending every day. The groups were effective and everyone was incredibly supportive. She was able to develop and use coping skills, effectively communicate with family, and advocate for her needs. Her confidence and self- esteem dramatically increased. We have been through several different PHP programs, and this by far was the most effective in improving her mental well being. I am forever grateful!

Terrible place. Got sexually assaulted my first day of PHP. Therapist told me to go talk to the girl to resolve it. No repercussions for the girl. Another therapist informed me this wasn’t the first time she had done… this at program.

There’s a GAP therapist here that only meets with her clients for 5-10 minutes or she doesn’t meet with them at all for several weeks. She also shares inappropriate details about her personal life, making staff and… clients uncomfortable. Many of her clients don’t improve but no one seems to say anything because they graduate. The company has been told about her laziness and lack of professionalism several times but nothing has been done about it.

Absolutely horrific experience! My son went weeks w/o proper individual therapy and when he advocated for himself was completely gaslit by Jessica, the IOP Director. These actions exacerbated instead of ameliorated my… son’s mental health struggles. Shame on them.

Do not go here if you are Disabled or socioeconomically disparaged in any way. This practice is discriminatory and woefully understaffed. I have a lot of therapy-related trauma from childhood and this place was a speed… run repeat. They knowingly & purposely jeapordized my shelter. They miscommunicated and were unclear. I wish I could sue them.

egregious waste of time and money. i came to genpsych because i needed help with getting workplace accommodations and supports and was constantly being referred to higher level every time i tried to find outpatient. i… ended up at genpsych where they assured me they could help me at least with my issues at work while i secured outpatient. my “therapist”, who somehow was also the “director” was horrible at prioritizing her multiple jobs and i took the brunt of it. she constantly dropped my sessions the day of, or asked me to stay after group for hours with no contact just to email me later that something else came up and i wouldn’t get a session. once a week i was supposed to get a one-on-one meeting and that rarely happened. i think i maybe got a third of what i was supposed to. i even brought this up, how this is supposed to be higher care, and i am not even getting the services i am paying for, let alone that i *need*. during sessions she would condone my anger/road rage, laugh about how i referred to myself as nasty things as if these horrible thoughts were jokes and laughed in my face while i was tearing up and trying to open up about a sensitive topic. completely harmful and invalidating in a therapeutic setting especially when there is already strain due to her being incapable of actually having the sessions to begin with. this same therapist took zero notes during sessions and i would find out later from a different therapist in program that she made up information about how i was doing on my chart too. i overlooked a lot of the incompetence and unprofessionalism because i genuinely needed the help and was at my wits end. i figured so long as they can at least help me with my work issues, i could deal once i found outpatient. i told them my job has a lengthy accomodation process and despite this i was told they could help with “whatever i needed”. i was completely blindsided when i was discharged without that help. at that point the “therapist” just stopped listening to anything i had to say and dismissed me and my concerns. she told me i was “winning” in this scenario. i told her i wasn’t ready for discharge and still needed support with work. she didn’t want to hear any of it. then, she gives me a discharge date, only for her to discharge me the following day instead for “refusal” to show up to group on a day that i’m at work… a work schedule that has not changed in four years. so one moment i’m “winning” the next she proceeds to send me more PHP program references and then cancels my existing outpatient that was scheduled by the other therapist, after i asked her not to. now i am being charged an arm and a leg for this stupid program that left me scrambling at my job, zero mental health support for outpatient, and completely disenchanted with mental healthcare as a whole. this is why people struggling end up dead. I can see now why genpsych has such a bad reputation. if you need genuine help, skip this place. they just want your money and Alison should not be working with trauma survivors, or as a therapist at all for that matter if she can’t better delegate her time between directing the entire program and managing her caseloads.
