Guidance Center – Southgate (13101 Allen Road)

I’ve had a really positive experience with The Guidance Center in Southgate. From the moment I walk through the door, the women at the front desk are always friendly, welcoming, and kind. Their warmth and friendliness… really help make the experience more comfortable. The staff I’ve interacted with have been caring, compassionate, and professional. I truly appreciate being treated with respect and kindness and feeling that the people there genuinely care about the individuals they’re helping. I’m grateful for the positive experiences I’ve had with The Guidance Center and would recommend them to anyone looking for a caring, supportive, and professional environment.

Great place if you’re willing to do the work, don’t come in here expecting to just get fixed if you, yourself aren’t ready to make a change. Change comes not just externally but mostly internally, everyone here is very… kind, and professional. You get out what you put in! I have done IOP, as well as weekly groups and 1 on 1 therapy sessions and all of which have been very helpful for my mental health. If there’s any miscommunication it can always be cleared up if you’re on top of your stuff. If you want real help from real people come to the guidance center and work the programs that they so generously provide.

We have used this place for years. My children went to pre school through the Guidance Center. Also my sister has had therapy services through them as well.

Staff and therapists are excellent

Heather Johnson has been an incredible HomeBase therapist for my daughter through The Guidance Center. She consistently shows up twice a week, never misses a session, and is truly dedicated to helping my daughter grow… and heal. Since working with Heather, I’ve seen tremendous progress in my daughter’s confidence, emotional well-being, and ability to cope with difficult situations. Heather is compassionate, patient, knowledgeable, and has built a wonderful relationship with her. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the children and families she works with. As a parent, it’s such a relief to have someone so dependable and invested in my daughter’s success. I am beyond grateful for everything Heather has done for our family. I wholeheartedly recommend Heather Johnson to any parent looking for a therapist who truly makes a difference, especially for preteens facing emotional or behavioral challenges. She has been an absolute blessing to our family, and I can’t thank her enough.

This place deserves to be shut down. The worst place ever don’t take your loved ones here if you actual want help.

Very high turnover rate among doctors, case workers and therapists. Honestly their therapists aren't that great. Also too much bureaucracy for simple things and very unorganized.

The front desk staff is very warm and welcoming and attentive. They ensure you have everything you need and are there to help make sure your visit is pleasant and enjoyable. All around a pretty good experience.

I took my kids here the mother has a drug problem the court order said she had to take them she skipped last 2 appointments they were important appointments ADHD / AUTISM diagnosis and mom skipped and I went to get a… letter the lawyer said to get and all they would give is one that says they missed their appointment. They called the cops on me o the cops came got me what letters they would give and took my side on the issue this place is for the drug addicts and not the kids their phone system is jacked secretary of state's remind system works way better than theirs. This was supposed to be the mom's first appointment with the kids and therapist set up with mom and therapist and all they would give is an attendance letter saying they didn't make it to their appointment.

Transportation never arrived like the text said it did ( twice ) 5/27/2026th B I Retro from MTM.

The Ladies that help we when I check in are wonderday. Friendly, I laugh every time. And they're on top of things. Very helpful. Everything is in their head. Nice easy top. Thank you, John

The entire staff is supportive and eager to help. From the time you walk in, you just feel like you’re in a safe space , the ladies at the front desk always have a warm smile, and are always willing to help ….kindness… doesn’t cost a thing.

They are always loosing therapist, I don't think they get to the root of the problem. They are no help in a crisis

I am just going to keep this review short. But Ivy is unprofessional. Bringing up politics and trying to push liberal views when you are supposed to be professional is not ok. Not to mention she uses AI on her tablet to… respond to everything i say.. like what is the point of having a therapist.

Joshua Gelinski has been imperative in the care and safety of my son. Josh and his team stepped up when my son faced a serious situation and reacted with professionalism, support and care. I am eternally grateful for… their responsiveness and the care shown to my son and our family
