About High Country Behavioral Health – Idaho Falls
High Country Behavioral Health operates from 1248 East 17th Street in Idaho Falls. The site sits in Bonneville County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Ammon, Iona and Lincoln. Idaho draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at High Country Behavioral Health
Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

High Country Behavioral Health Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 1248 East 17th Street, Idaho Falls, ID 83404, in Bonneville County. The catchment reaches Ammon, Iona and Lincoln. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

How Much Does Treatment at High Country Behavioral Health Cost?
Self-funded rehab in Idaho typically costs $1,400 to $4,200 for a week of medical detox, $2,500 to $7,500 a month for an intensive outpatient program and $1,000 to $4,000 a month for standard outpatient care. A price list for High Country Behavioral Health could not be found at the time of writing, so those state costs are an estimate.
A reasonable expectation is that High Country Behavioral Health’s cost includes medical monitoring, the intake assessment, group therapy and individual counseling. Medication is often a separate charge. Because this could not be found for the facility itself, call High Country Behavioral Health and ask.

The front desk ladies are awesome, Brian Brimhall is so good to work with, the pharmacist is nice and Christine who administers Sprovato is my number one! She cares about her patients so much and is just a sweetheart. I… definitely recommend this place overall.
I saw Kelly at High Country Behavioral Health and thought the world of her. She was compassionate, easy to talk to, and truly helpful during the time I was able to see her.
I can’t say enough good things about Brian Brimhall at High Country Behavioral Health in Idaho Falls. He has been one of the strongest advocates in my life—consistently showing up with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering… support. Brian is not only highly knowledgeable and insightful, but he also brings a rare level of authenticity and trustworthiness to every conversation. Through both the happiest and most challenging chapters of my life, Brian has listened with genuine care and helped me feel seen, heard, and understood. He has a gift for helping people navigate tough situations while also helping them discover deeper truths about themselves. Because of him, I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think were possible. I trust Brian with every word and aspect of my life. He is more than just a therapist—he’s been a steady friend and a true person through and through. I’m deeply grateful for all he’s done and continues to do.
I love this clinic, great friendly front staff, good patient portal. Valarie Erikson is amazing. I’ve also loved meeting and working with Holly. Holly is simply amazing and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the… other counselors here as well. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone and I’m in the medical field myself!
Bryan Lankford really helped me out. Never really believed in counseling but I kinda get it now. He worked with me on everything and was really patient with my bs!
I love this place so much! They have taken the time with me more than any other place and have gone out of their way to try and help me. Valarie is amazing and so compassionate! She has listened to me and tried… different treatments with me and approaches. It is obvious she genuinely cares! Cody is a great therapist and has helped me a lot as well. The staff is amazing as well! I love Chantelle, Macie Amy and Logan! They make me feel like family when I come in! I cannot say enough good about this facility!
Brian Brimhall is wonderful. I’ve been a patient of his for years. He is open minded and understanding.
My counselor ghosted me and I never heard back. Pretty contrary to any kind of mental health service. If anything, your company did more damage than help. If you are ND and looking for counseling be prepared for over 40… pages of paperwork they want you to do on your own before you can start. It felt like a part time job. They ask for the same information over and over and over again. They should pay employees to do that. My case manager Emily was great though.
Best mental health care I have ever received ❤️ the staff there go above and beyond and you can tell they really do care about their patients and their needs. Would recommend them to anyone in need of mental health… services. Plus they do also provide primary care as of recent.
For some reason I just can’t set an appointment with them. I have been waiting 5 days now just to have someone named Logan to give me a call to set an appointment. Very disappointing. Update 12 days now and I can’t even… have a conversation to set an appointment. They blame it on the office they referred me to, that office blames it on them, all I want to do is set an appointment. And I can’t, even though I don’t need pre approval, I am caught in the middle and no one wants to take responsibility and fix this.
Good morning everyone This morning I want to give major claps to High County Behavioral Health of Idaho falls. They are a key player in my mental health journey. I've been with them for roughly 2 years. What happened… was that I started a new med through sample doses. They were given to me until the med I was prescribed became available through my pharmacy. There was a delay here, a delay there and I ran out of samples and hasn't been approved yet for a pharmacy release of the med. (If anypone remembers last year when I lost medicaid, and I was not on meds for nearly 9 weeks. It was a nightmare). My Dr saw this problem, understood my need and sent a nurse to my location with another round of sample meds to get me through until the med approval. This nurse actually drove to my house, after hours, and hand delivered meds. Now, I know alot of people have great Dr's, but this action floored me and solidified the notion that I have the right team, right office and good friends there. Enough to make me smile and feel safe with my treatments. So, thank you High Country. I appreciate the lengths you'll go to deliver positive treatments Thank you.
Kelsey is fantastic. When I first started seeing Kelsey I could barely even attend a meeting via zoom due to my anxiety. Within a few months of seeing her I am living again! I appreciate the way she values my own… thoughts about what might work and she’s open to exploring different options. She places less emphasis on diagnosis and greater emphasis on which medication is going to address the symptoms at hand. Highly recommend!
Brian Bremhall is an amazing physician’s assistant or doctor or what ever his title is he’s always prompt on returning emails or scheduling appointments with short notice he’s an amazing medical professional and… everyone is super nice and carping trust me this is the right place
I have been going here for a long time. Thinking I am almost better. Then had a trigger that started anxiety and depression very bad. I called Kelley M to see her sooner, I just needed some help. She got me in and… listened to me very well.
This is a review of the billing, not the counseling (which I’m sure would have been wonderful). I decided to start going to counseling and had one onboarding session where they asked fairly basic questions, no actual… counseling was done but I was assured they would get to it the next session. I was then informed that due to a policy change they would not be able to see me. I then received a charge for the “session,” even though I had received no help at all. It was beyond frustrating to have to pay for the privilege of answering basic questions and receiving no guidance, or counseling in return.
I’m so disappointed in this clinic. I was referred to a therapist in this office and had to fill out an overly extensive amount of paperwork online, which was a requirement indicated by the office lady to be put on a… waitlist. Afterwards, I was told I had to be evaluated by a different person other than the therapist I requested to see before I could be on a waitlist and that the appointment would be at least an hour long evaluation at minimum. I have never been to a clinic that required an evaluation. And my insurance has never required an evaluation. When I told the office lady I did not feel comfortable being evaluated by someone other than a the therapist I would be seen by, the office lady told me it was a requirement. When I asked why, and she said it was because Medicaid required an evaluation and they follow Medicaid’s policy. I told her I was not on Medicaid, and she flippantly replied, that if I wasn’t interested in an evaluation I should find another clinic. I am honestly stunned at the uncalled for and disrespectful way I have been treated in response to valid questions and concerns. I am sure there are wonderful therapists at this clinic, maybe that is why they have decent reviews, but clearly their scheduling staff have a high level of disregard for the people looking to be seen there. This is suppose to be a clinic who’s priority should be caring for the wellbeing of their patients. They are literally in the business of providing mental and emotional therapy and treatment. But I was treated like just another number, or an annoyance. Maybe because they have a waitlist, they don’t care about their reputation or how they treat others, but I expect better. Now that I have wasted weeks of my time trying to get scheduled with this clinic, I will take my business elsewhere. Hopefully, others won’t have the same experience I have had. And I hope the managers at this clinic will take note as to why they may be losing business and teach their staff not only customer service, but how to treat people with common curtesy and respect. Do better.
My son had an assessment this summer and wasn't able to get in until September. He wanted to go weekly and his counselor has canceled on him 4 times now. He asked to be put with someone else and they said he could go on… a waiting list. He is so discouraged and just wants to see a counselor. I am so disappointed in the way he is being treated.
Go anywhere else but here!! They are the absolute worst. The doctors will move with no warning and transfer you to a new doctor without any heads up. They do not care about patients and will bill you when you haven’t… seen them for years. Run away from high country!
If I could give this place more stars I would! I had Stela Risto and if I didnt move to Utah, I would have kept her as my counselor for many more years, she was very sweet and understanding, easy to talk to, and I… looked forward to talking to her and I learned so many new skills! 100/10 definitely recommend!
This is my husband’s account name but I’m a 37yr female. I have dealt with such horrible doctors and therapists but I moved here and started seeing stella and she’s amazing! She has so much empathy and is so… knowledgeable and you speaks to ppl in ways they understand and can really work on things. She’s by far one of the best therapist I’ve ever had! I even have other family members with her and she stays completely confidential. And Brian brimhal is the best doctor so caring and really listens and he’s just genuinely a great person. I feel lucky with these two in my life there amazing
If I could give Brandie Warnke and Jenny Decker zero stars, I would. Brandie initially presented as a competent evaluator who had experience with multiple forms of domestic violence and high conflict divorce. She was… engaging and friendly initially. As the process got underway, things got muddy. I advised her that I have Asperger’s. As such, when given directions, the more unclear/unspecific the directions given to an individual with ASD, the bigger the struggle due to the fact that our physiology is not like that of neurotypicals. However, how she then came across was almost frustratingly dismissive as if I were an incompetent individual moving forward. Amongst the documentation I provided, due to the enormous complexities of what had gone on, I provided source data and copies of supporting documentation to further prove and validate my observations (I have a professional background in the field with formal education and decades life/personal experiences and extras such as volunteering/etc). However, she was apparently highly offended at my thoroughness and misinterpreted my willingness to back my claims and show my sources for my claims (since I was divorcing a pathological liar who submitted countless false claims against me, perjuring himself numerous times at every hearing, and I was trying to demonstrate I mean what I say, and I’m not afraid of the truth or standing by it and in the spirit of full transparency, giving my documentation with professional sources was the way I chose to demonstrate that). Instead, she took it as an insult to her competence when it was never a thought in my head when submitting. Afterwards, I observed indicators that there may be a strong possibility that she wasn’t as experienced with cases like mine. When numerous red flags were missed during the evaluation it then occurred to me why she might be offended. Another big red flag that she was inexperienced was that she further enabled narcissistic abuse by asking professionals who not only never treated let alone had a single conversation with me, by asking them about me and who I was as an individual in their professional opinion. Which is defined as unethical conduct. In addition to the above, the sources I did know were incredibly bothered by the fact that Brandie took what they said “completely out of context” and “misrepresented” what they told Brandie. I also have evidence explicitly proving another claim she submitted, made as false. And the real kicker was my interview with Jenny Decker who was the Domestic Violence Evaluator, who was also not familiar with a few key basic concepts, and thus missed those basic red flags where key questions are typically asked. Instead, when I started talking about what had been happening and I started to cry and shake because I was still struggling with being in PTSD at the time, and was trying hard to stop, she irritatingly asked me, “why are you crying…?” There was no mistaking her tone of intolerance. And I immediately felt even more confused about what was going on, which only continues to show the deficit in qualified professionals here in IF and the enormous gap in desperate need of some closure as I’ve heard countless others with stories like mine. I’m just one of the few willing to say something. Brandie, the justice system was built upon the idea that men came to it honestly. Not hearsay, and cheap tricks while enabling abuse. Custody evaluations seem to be based on gossip and the diagnosed individuals with a long history of lying including immediate examples of perjury, instead of credible character references. Too quick to believe one while not giving the other an equal and objective consideration, all of which is why I don’t recommend your services.
they are really good and awesome . they are easy to talk. I really enjoy being their client
It has been a blessing to work with such an amazing therapist, Kelly Jianas. I feel heard, helped, and strengthened as I meet with Kelly. . Meeting with her, I have improved so much and feel like a normal person again!
Very friendly staff and amazing providers.
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I just finished my last therapy appointment before I move, and I just have to say, I've had the best experience. I started seeing Kade for Medication management, and he was so great that I started… therapy there, too. I have worked with Kade, Brian, and Sherrie. They are all incredibly kind and thoughtful. The front staff now know me by name. They always manage to get me in if there is a crisis, or if I need an extra bit of help. Their after hours staff has helped me a great deal, too. I have gone through 5 therapists in 2 years and I have to say, no one has measured up to Mental Wellness Center!
