About High Country Behavioral Health – Pocatello

High Country Behavioral Health operates from 420 South 4th Avenue in Pocatello. The site sits in Bannock County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Arbon Valley, Chubbuck and Tyhee. Idaho draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at High Country Behavioral Health

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

High Country Behavioral Health Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 420 South 4th Avenue, Pocatello, ID 83201, in Bannock County. The catchment reaches Arbon Valley, Chubbuck and Tyhee. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

How Much Does Treatment at High Country Behavioral Health Cost?

Rehab with no insurance in Idaho commonly costs $1,400 to $4,200 for a week of medical detox, $2,500 to $7,500 a month for an intensive outpatient program and $1,000 to $4,000 a month for standard outpatient care. Those are typical state costs. High Country Behavioral Health’s prices were not found at the time of writing and may differ.

Worst mental health experience ever.

High Country Behavior health is the only place I would go for any mental health services in the Pocatello, ID area. The staff truly wants to see your quality of life go up. They not only listen they make solutions, and… follow through with action. I have a past of horrible experiences and can truly say it’s different here, because they care.

Bryan Lankford is hands down the best therapist I've ever worked with. He is attentive, he has a personality and is genuinely concerned for his clients. Kelsey Denison is an incredible med management professional and… her assistant Sabrina is a delight. Nicole is amazing and Stephanie is a godsent angel. I love seeing their faces when i walk in. The entire team is a absolute masterpiece. I wouldn't choose anywhere else for my services. Every cog in the hcbh clock is on time and perfect.

I've been going to HCBH for some months now and Bryan Lankford is an absolutely amazing counselor and is super knowledgeable. He makes me feel extremely comfortable and is always giving me new tools to make mine and my… kids lives so much better. The front desk is very helpful and kind whenever I need anything. Highly recommend!

Dr. Kelsey Denison and her assistant Sabrina are amazing! They listen to every concern and have a caring, empathetic bedside manner! They make adjustments in treatment gradually and in response to my needs and concerns.… Thank you so much for exceptional care! 5 Stars are not enough!

I've been going to HCBH for over a year. Bryan Lankford is very knowledgeable. He makes me feel very comfortable. He is extremely motivating and always giving me tools to improve my life. I've never done counseling… before, and I'm so glad I made myself go, because my life has very much improved since. The front desk is so helpful and kind. I would highly recommend!

I have been going to Therapy and Med Management for 18 years and High Country Behavioral Health is by far the best. The staff is the friendliest and I didn't just feel like family, I felt loved. Everyone in the office… listened to me like I was the only client. HCBH has been a sheer joy to attend.

Mandy is the best! She helps me sort through my feelings and guides me to find the answers myself through questions and discussions. It makes me feel more like I’m in charge of my life and the way it is going instead of… doing what someone is telling me to do. She has never once told me what to do. I love that she can do EMDR as well. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

I am a mental health professional myself. I assist people with nearly every MH med-manager office in Pocatello. After accompanying someone who was seeing Kelsey, I was so impressed, I sought out services the same week.… I was a client at my previous office for 13 years. I read a few of the negative reviews, and the complaints were about the office being busy. A busy office is a way better sign than an office with tumbleweeds. Good help is in high demand. I see it and work with it every day. From a professional: I highly recommend the Pocatello office. Thank you ladies for working with me to improve my life as well as the management to stay improved. I know if I fall, their hands will be reaching to help me back up. Sheesh now I’m tearful lol

I have worked with kelsey Dennison and her assistant Sabrina for quite a while now as representation for other people and seeing them for my own personal reasons and they are both amazing to work with and listen to… everything I tell them is wrong and come up with a solution that works best and if it don't we work towards another one!!! They are such amazing people in and out!! I want to thank you all for all you have done for me and everyone else I work with that have needed your services!

Good luck trying to get in to see anyone...after at least a dozen phone calls saying this person isn't available, I spoke to someone in their Idaho Falls office and was told Pocatello office has a waiting list... had to… move on to someone else.

ZERO STARS FOR POCATELLO OFFICE!! DO NOT GO TO POCATELLO OFFICE!! Appt was at 10am, arrived 10 min early, NO RECEPTIONIST OR ANY ONE AT FRONT DESK. Knocked on window and was yelling HELLO. (I can clearly hear people… talking). Called nobody answered, phone just rang. Finally after after 10 min, Erin the receptionist comes to front, I didn’t hear you. So then I asked for Manager or Supervisor she said it’s David, but he’s not here, but is on his way. (David is who my appt is with)!!! She called to see where he was and he was just pulling into the parking lot .. so now he’s LATE!! What a cluster flipping mess. I ended up leaving since they are clearly unprofessional and can’t manage to be in the office prior to their clients arriving!! What a joke. Anxiety through the roof!!!!

Horrible communication amongst staff and given false IMPORTANT information over the phone that is Life damaging information. So when showed up to the urgent appointment, everything that was told to us over the phone was… not even correct.

I would give it a 5 for how amazing they are with kids! But as an adult, I ALWAYS called a minimum of 36 hours ahead, ( I admit one day I only gave an hour notice because I was up all night and that morning with my 10… month old because we were both sick) to let them know and to PLEASE give my therapist a message to call me so I could let them know personally why I had to miss our appointments, that way they could give another person that appointment. The messages I assume, were never passed on as I never got a phone call back, just texts reminding me of my child's appointment.(Again, not for mine). The person who checks you in and answers the phone would say," oh okay, it's fine because you're already in the system for the same day and time every week." Then hang up. The downfall was that I wasn't getting better, my 10 month old was, but unfortunately I was fighting a horrible virus for 5+ weeks and barely was able to talk as my throat and chest hurt and my throat was so sore from coughing and my chest and back hurt from "torn muscles" from coughing so much, which made my voice come and go constantly. There was a couple of times I picked up my child from school so we could go to our appointments and when we were checking in the teen at the desk said someone called and cancelled our appointments, that was very frustrating as I know I didn't call to reschedule any appointments until 2 months later when I first caught the nasty virus that was going around and my car broke down. I'm satisfied with the child services and a availability they offer, but for me it was a big stress mess unfortunately. But I'm trying again hoping we can get the lack of communication and understanding figured out.
