Hygea Healthcare – Middle River Detox and Rehab Services

Hygea Healthcare – Middle River carries a listing for detox and residential treatment. The withdrawal stage is clinically observed, which is what makes it safer than stopping alone. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

As I have recently checked in Friday evening I had no guidance nor Direction nor platform on what we were supposed to do nobody gave me a tour of the building nobody told me this is what you're supposed to do here's a… list of what we're supposed to do other than enjoy yourself. Announcements were made only by staff who decided to announce things and you're only allowed to smoke one cigarette per break as the vapors can Vape as much as they possibly can. I would never recommend this facility to anybody and would love to report this to the state of Maryland

Once again, I found it necessary to return to Hygea Healthcare for help. This facility is wonderful because Maryland doesn't really offer detox facilities like this one. I need to thank these people, especially for the… care they gave me during my stay. Theresa, Tyavia, all the awesome BHTs, all the best nurse's in the world, especially Michelle, Rachel, and Ashley (Dream Team), Ricardo, Rod, Joyce. I highly recommend Hygea if you are struggling with addiction and need help. THANK YOU!!!!!! JOSEPH

Very good experience, was my 1st time in a treatment program and I was very impressed by how helpful and attentive the team was. All of my needs were met, every question I had was answered and all of my troubles were… resolved with great solutions. The case managers Tay and Kayla were wonderful and did everything possible for me to support my treatment and tended to my accommodations and also made me feel very secure because none of my problems made them feel annoyed they were very respectful and professional and definitely went above and beyond for me! I recommend the middle river Hygea treatment center to anyone I know who needs the help and I hope you do as well especially if this is yours or their first time at a treatment center. I can honestly say I did not have a negative experience at all throughout the entire time I stayed.

I had a GREAT experience here. For a state funded facility, this place is incredible. Clean, state of the art equipment/furniture, comfortable rooms with flat screen TV’s. Just overall a very comfortable place to go to.… I only came for detox and had to leave AMA early I only stayed 4 days because of a funeral and financially I couldn’t afford to stay longer than 4 days I just have bills piling up that needed taken care of but those 4 days were the best 4 days of treatment in my life and I’ve been in and out of rehabs my whole life trying to get it right. This place is just as good as 5 star rehabs that you can only go to if you have good insurance. This place takes Medicaid! If you have Medicaid, there is no better rehab/detox than hygea. They were super accommodating. I want to shout out my counselor Sarah she was amazing and so thoughtful. Same for my case manager Kayla she was INCREDIBLE and super helpful. She let me handle my business on my cell phone, she got me set up with after care and with getting on the sublocade injection when I get out! She did a fantastic job. Even case manager Tyavia who wasn’t even my case manager was SO helpful and she and my case manager Kayla (they share the same office) so fun to be around, always high energy, always smiling and always helping. Always so sweet and helpful. Thank you so much you guys. This is a great program even the patients were great I made some amazing friends while being here that I plan on staying in contact with for life and I NEVER usually do that after I leave rehab but I sure will this time. Such a comfortable place to get clean, the food was INCREDIBLE. The chefs were great cooks! Shoutout to Reggie he did my intake and he was so amazingly positive as well. Also want to shout out the president of Hygea Jordana for being a sweetheart. If you have Medicaid or Maryland state insurance, come here for treatment. No treatment center is perfect, but for a state run program that accepts Medicaid it does not get any better than this. Thank you so much Hygea. And ALL of the nurses and staff! They were all incredible! Please come here if you need a good place to get some good recovery. I hope to work here someday!

Hygea was the best detoxification facility I've ever been too. The rooms are clean and the TV's are a plus. The food is amazing and the staff are very professional. Kudos to Ashley and Lauren on the nursing team. The… counselors really put a treatment plan into action and follow up weekly. Hygea overall was a great experience.

Since i wasnt givin proper meds when i left had to be started on a diff detox dose. I never saw a doctor while i was there. They dont offer the monthly injection is what would give people 30 days sober. Almost like you… are set up for failure. Many patients said they were still hungry at the end of the night. 40 people will be lined up for a tiny snack. Wasnt a very clean place.

I was just at hygea and it honestly saved my life. The people I met left such an impact on my life, and heart. Jordan and Rod for being visible. Mr. Brian, Mr. Reg, Kamora, Jae, all the amazing nurses I met. All the… other techs that do the real dirty work 😂 I was there a short time but I was given a 100 percent mind, body, and soul recovery. Special shout out to the counselors. Angela thank you, thank you for introducing me to Father Martin. I'm all over the chalkboard talks 😂. Ms. Joyce for making me feel heard. And for her eye opening groups, and Bo for putting up with me. Kelly for the yoga for showing me a knew love, and grounding technique.I love you all I'll be back to speak in six months. Ms. Percy I owe you a special thank you. That talk with you when I first arrived was the beginning of my soul truly opening up! It was made even special by the clients I was with. Stephanie Becton

I had a good experience here, but I do want to share a few critiques that I think are very important to anyone considering detox. I was detoxing from fentanyl and cocaine, and spent almost 5 days in bed getting through… the withdrawals. I felt like I received pretty good care, but really needed more attention from nursing than I was given. I didn't eat at all during that time, first of all because I was vomiting 24/7 and second because you have to go to the cafeteria to get a meal, which I was too weak to do. Even if I could have made it, their menu isn't designed for a sick person. None of the nursing staff offered me food, but I finally got a bagged lunch from one of the techs on the 4th day. I also wasn't drinking enough water because again, you had to get it yourself, and I was too weak. I ended up extremely dehydrated and they almost sent me to the hospital, but opted not to and gave me an injection of zofran and started helping me fill my water instead. Despite knowing I had used right before walking in, they offered me Suboxone on my first night there, which would have put me in horrible precipitated withdrawals if I hadn't known to say no. When I did start the Suboxone on night 4, they did an extremely slow taper onto it, I think it was 2mg twice a day, then 4mg twice a day, then 8mg, then began to taper me off of it when I finally started feeling better. I am now on suboxone and my dose is 12mg twice a day and 8mg once a day, to give you an idea of how under medicated I was. I wanted to be on medication management, and wasnt informed that they were tapering me off. I guess that's just their protocol or something, but it didn't make sense to me. I also had barely any participation in my discharge plan, my case manager always seemed too busy to meet with me and switched me to a new one who picked a place for me and had me do my intake over the phone during my smoke break. I wasn't even given a pamphlet about the program, and ended up leaving when I got there because they hadn't coordinated with Hygea on my medication and didn't have my Suboxone. I will say that some of the complaints I have were my own fault. I wasnt 100% on board with recovery at the time and really should have been more proactive about meeting with my case manager. However, I found it weird that they tried to blame me for not coming out of my room for 5 days, saying they had to rush my discharge process because of that...... it's a detox program. I was legitimately too sick to speak or walk and surely my case wasn't unique. My advice would be to make sure you are advocating for yourself, and you'll probably have a better experience than I did. I should also mention that I thought the facility was great, it was clean, comfortable, and the food was good, once you can eat it. All of the techs were wonderful, caring, and compassionate, as were most of the nursing staff. I felt like their shortcomings were because they werent as knowledgeable as they should have been and had to follow the programs rules, not because they didn't want to help. Boredom is your worst enemy when you're just getting clean, and you're going to feel a lot of it. Going to groups helps, but there are lots of hours of nothing to do. Just know what you're getting into, and if you're reading this because you need help like I did, I wish you the best of luck.

I came there beat and broken from my relapse. They welcomed me and always spoke with purpose ms t & the other gentleman that did my intake I can’t remember his name! They were such great people. The greatest place to… detox; very clean rooms and what not. I hope all my suggestions in the box are in the works. I also did residential there for 30 days Joyce and Jodie and Joe Duncan and everyone did so much for me. I’ll miss everyone dearly. I spent Halloween and thanks giving there and I felt right at home.. well as much as I could considering it’s a hospital establishment. PATRICK is also a great man of integrity. I had some issues with a client and he took care of it and helped me every step of the way.. I’m so grateful for all the nurses like Ashley and.. I can’t remember her name the girl with long brown hair shorter GREAT NURSES. Doctors are very helpful and supportive. I just loved the experience. Honestly overall this facility is pretty accommodating I'd like to give some honorable mentions to Brian, Reggie, and Joe. Upon arrival I was given a false positive pregnancy test which was very unprofessional and… traumatizing especially for someone who is withdrawing but I do think for only a year of being open this place is very clean, has good food, comfortable beds, and a good nursing staff. Another thing I would like to mention is that you will not receive your belongings for a few days after admission and all items must be sealed.

So I was one of the first 10 clients at Hygea Middle River, and the people there genuinely care. Special shout to Patrick and Lindsey- Patrick, I can look back and definitely realize you were only trying to help me save… my life. No words can express the gratitude I have for those moments. And Lindsey without you I probably would have left. Many a time you talked me off a ledge and for that I'm here today. You have the gift of gab and you individualized a plan for me that set me up for success. Working tirelessly to find a safe haven, coming to see me everyday to just ask how I was doing , and real recognizes real. So I hope you continue to rise up at Hygea and stay humble. Idk where Hygea found you, but they struck Gold when they did. Thanks for everything guys
