Instar Community Servs – Helena

The owners put a ton of work into making this place feel welcome and like a home. Definitely the place to go to get some more time under your belt, get into some resources and move forward after. Helena is an awesome… place to stay too. I think what sets this place aside from others is they really leave the ball in your park like the real world.

My stay here at first was very welcoming and helpful. The staff seemed to really care about your recovery and wanted the best for you. As I continued to live here, I noticed certain rules changing randomly and some only… being enforced to certain individuals. I was discharged from here due to the fact I forgot to make the staff aware of prescriptions I had received from my doctor's which I was told beforehand was perfectly allowed to take while you stay here. Since I had forgot to let the staff know of these medications, I received a pleasant text from one of the owners stating, "You tested positive for Suboxone and failed to let the staff know of your new prescription medications. Since you are back on your fancy new cocktail you can go somewhere else to swallow that crap. You will be discharged in the morning ." Now this was my first time receiving any sort of communication from this individual and to me really showed an enormous amount of disrespect, I have been on these medications for over 15 years and there is a very good reason why. As far as the Suboxone goes, I have never taken that medication in my life, I did receive a shot in my back which was an opiate, due to a car accident I was involved in a while back, and have the paperwork showing it. If you are one of the lucky individuals here they will show some grace and forgiveness and give you a 2nd chance and let you continue to stay here. I however was not granted that opportunity and was abruptly let known at 9:30pm that I had to pack my bags the next morning. 2nd chances should be gave to everyone or not given at all. Best of luck to anyone who stays here. Clearly the owner doesn't want to acknowledge their are exceptions for some. We'll see if they can fool the MFCU.

Staff are rude and need to better customer service skills.

Very disheartening for staff to be rude when someone is seeking information about their services.

Very warm and welcoming. They truly care about the sober community and did everything to set me up for success. From helping me get food my first night to helping me get a new Physician, help with Food Stamps, and so… much more! I feel blessed to call this place my home.

I loved my time at the Hannon House. They helped me reach every goal I wanted to achieve and helped me become a better human being. The facility is spacious and clean and comfortable and the staff are some of the best… people I've ever met. Bob and Terri, Ryan and Dawn, Damien THANK YOU GUYS!!!

This place is a wonderful experience for someone who needs help getting o your feet.. it's hard to find people like this in the world 🌍 today.. theses guys really care about you here and help you every step of the way...

First of all the bad review was bullcrap, if your not serious about getting straight, and you can't take the advice and change your life, you dont get on Google review and try to trash the people that were helping you.… Next Damian and Ryan are beast at their jobs it takes alot to deal with grown men, who are learning how to be grown men, all the time. Even big josh is patient and on point when it comes to his job. Terri and Bob, man I can't say enough I was a mess and still a mess half the time. But they and their program saved my life. I learned new ways to cope with tragedies and to change my behavior based on principles and not emotions. Not everyone can create doors in people's lives where all they have had before were walls. Bob and Terri can. So yeah they were key in my recovery. I love em. What they have designed , here in montana to me is what I call family. Thank you

The Hannon house has helped me discover who I want to be as a person and have also provided just enough structure to my life to give me a sense of stability. I'm truly greatful for the Hannon house and without their… support I may have never gotten out of prison. People like Bob and Teri make me want to be a better person.

I would give them ten stars if I could ... Great program and great environment to get back on your feet and open up opportunities to change regain everything list to addiction. They helped me in my addiction battle , in… my legal matters in my financial situation and also my spiritual journey to get to were I am now . I've been doing this over 12 years since I was 16 years old and have been through almost every d.o.c. program there is and have relapsed everytime. Instar and the Hannon house is by far the best program I have ever been… to.. I am doing the best I have ever done in my entire life and I wouldn't be where I am today without everyone at instar especially Ryan Lehman. Everybody was completely against me getting out and actively advocating against it due to my criminal history but Ryan stood up for and vouched for me and did everything he could to help me get into the Hannon house.. instar literally saved my life by giving me this opportunity and with the help of the treatment they provide through one on ones and groups I have managed to not only maintain sobriety but to pull my life together and actually succeed and realize that I want something better than what I have been allowing myself to have. I just want to thank everyone there for actually caring and going out of their way to show me a better life and to help me obtain it.

I would give this place negative stars if it were possible. I strongly suggest you reconsider when making a choice that has so much bearing on your future happiness and success. There are so many better options right… here in town when it comes to treatment.

I can assure you this place is a joke. I was only required to attend 1 hour per week of group therapy while residing at the "Hannon House" which is their sober living facility, which is not in accordance with state… requirements. So when I left instar and went to another company I found out that I had to start the whole process over again. There was constant favoritism between staff and clinetel that seemed very selective and unprofessional to me. Drugs were common place inside of the sober living facility and I was eventually robbed by a former co-inhabitant of the Hannon House but that did not happen on the property though I never would've had the opportunity to fall victim to this individual had I not became aquatinted with him through instar. When I was staying there they had a live-in peer support "specialist" there that has the minimal required training for the job and all he did was play video games all day long. He has a fridge and a hot plate and toaster in his room and if he would have had a bathroom in there I am 100% certain he would have never left his room. The decision to trust instar with my treatment was one that I still regret to this day. The story of my own personal involvement with instar left me discouraged and disgusted with the system as a whole. I feel a deep sense of responsibility in sharing this information so that you have the opportunity to make the most informed and educated decision possible in regards to your own recovery. I was finally able to pull myself up off the floor and find great success and personal growth that continues to this very day, and I found it in the Narcotics Anonymous program and with the help of the amazing sponsor I met in the meeting rooms of NA and I am now living a very rewarding and emotionally full filling lifestyle. Remember, you're not in this alone and you do have a choice when it comes to your own recovery. And that choice is something that will affect the rest of your life so don't take it lightly and do your research before committing yourself to something that could possibly set you back months if not years.

I've been in the system for many years, been through every institutional group the system has none of them ever worked for me, the way that instar has your back is unlike anything I've ever been through. It's not a… system of forcing things down your throat honestly it's like they are one of your friends showing u how to do something to better your life. They focus more on the positive things an how to get there. It's not the same old boring groups where all everyone talks about is negative things, it's about life. All I can say is everything positive in my life right now is happening because instar an the Hannon house took a chance on me, an all I can say to that an the hole in star family is THANK YOU

So listen if someone is looking to go back into society and not just dive right in this is a perfect place to go not only are they helping me continue my program the staff that work there has helped me in anyway iv… needed above and beyond I recommend this place to anyone.. but u need to be willing to want to be sober and walk the line that's what makes it so nice the group of guys that I'm currently living with there are amazing gentleman with that said it helps me want to continue this path I'm on....

She really showed me her true colors. I was pretty nervous to walk in to this clinic, I was there for personal reasons. I felt so at home, happy and stress free with my time there. Terri (and Heather is wonderful as… welll!) gave me a wonderful session and therapeutic environment, she made me feel calm and collected with my life. She’s someone anyone could be-friend, count on and can always count on. More people who have DUI’s, Drug Addiction or anything more, can and should talk to her, she’s here for you . It’s safe and friendly. It just might change your life. If I ever need to come back, it will not be scary. Life isn’t scary with people who care! God Bless!

It has been a privilege to know Terri professionally for over 11 years. Her compassion, commitment and ethics make her an outstanding counselor. She is always working to better her community and provide caring, quality… services for alcoholics and addicts.

Great service to the community.

Having been through DOC treatments as well as being mandated to participate in Boyd Andrews outpatient programs it was really refreshing when I met Terri Russell. She truly had my best interest in mind and I continued… to see her after I was no longer court ordered to participate in treatment. Now that I no longer see her as a client, I still stay in contact with her and consider her a friend. If you're interested in getting help from someone who genuinely cares about the people in our community I encourage you to choose Instar!

Here in Helena - we are lucky to have Instar Community Services. What is Instar Community Services?These knowledgeable folks (Terri, Bob and staff) work tirelessly combating addictions and the people that are being… terrorized by their vices. Many communities don't have specially trained people to step in and help during a crisis. Yes, I see these people as super hero's. Thank you "Instar" for all you do right here in Helena and the surrounding areas.

Terri Russel and her team are heaven sent.If you are ready for a clean start they are your team. Their office is like coming home to a comfortable chair. I would recommend them to my friends and family. Thank you Terri… and team for truly caring.

Terri R. is the most amazing, caring and helpful CD counselors I have ever came into contact with. Day in and day out they provide a clean, professional place were clients can feel free in the time spent here to the… scheduling, payments, continuous needs being address and taken care of! I proudly can say this from experience was the best. I would HIGHLY recommend her. And will definitely continue to suggest her and this business to anyone in need.
