La Hacienda Treatment Center – Hunt Detox and Rehab Services

Recorded services at La Hacienda Treatment Center – Hunt are detox and residential treatment. The withdrawal stage is clinically observed, which is what makes it safer than stopping alone. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The medical staff including nursing was top notch and the counselors are fabulous the family program and its counselors need some work — they came across as unprepared and didn't seem to know what they were talking… about as much. Some of them even rude and hostile. and talk about outdated ideas on relationships.... dude are you married? do you live in the modern world? don't talk to me about "providing for my wife" when she makes more money than me. please just help me where i am at.

La Hacienda truly changed my life. I’ve been to treatment centers all over the state of Texas, and La Hacienda was the last treatment center I ever had to go to. The 28 days I spent there helped save my life and gave me… the foundation I needed for long term recovery. The staff genuinely care and are always available to help, encourage, and support clients through every stage of the process. The program is strongly rooted in a 12 step approach, which was exactly what I needed, while also offering specialized programming to meet different individual needs. The campus is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, creating an environment where healing feels possible. The medical staff were also incredible and made me feel safe and cared for throughout my stay. I will always be grateful for the experience I had at La Hacienda and for the role they played in helping me rebuild my life.

Our family’s experience with LaHa left a lasting impression on me. My son first went there at a time when he wasn’t ready to embrace recovery and after that, he spent time at many other treatment centers. When he… finally reached the point where he was ready to get better La Hacienda was the place he wanted to go. That spoke volumes to me. Out of everywhere he had been, La Hacienda was the place where he felt the most comfortable and cared for. It was a place that made him believe that recovery was possible. As a mother, I understood very little about addiction so I attended 4 different family programs at his various treatment centers and the one at LaHa was by far the best. When my son returned to LaHa he specifically asked his dad to attend the family session. It was here that he finally understood addiction as a disease and was given the perspective he needed to not only support our son’s recovery but his own through attending our local Alanon. We highly recommend La Hacienda.

Please, if you or a loved one are truly ready to change your whole world for the better then strongly consider La Hacienda. I tried everything for years to quit drinking and become a better man for my family and… friends. LaHa showed me why I needed to do it for myself first. In 30 days they completely changes my mindset, toxic habits, and restored my faith in my higher power. May 1, 2026 is one year sober for me out of the last 22 years. My wife and kids love me more than ever amd most importantly I love who I am becoming one day at a time.

Chose La Ha because their sales rep was the only person I called who didn't tell me his life story. I was a card-carrying drunk who wanted to sober up. Went twice in 1997, winter & summer. Fell in love with the place,… my fellow addicts, my roommates, and the few counselors who listened to us. We had our routines. Feels like we recited The Serenity Prayer about 15 times a day. At night people pulled up chairs next to our room and we talked, blowing off steam and laughing. It was nice to be the cool girls we never were in school. Everybody talked about things counselors didn't address, or stuff we just didn't want them to know. And we smoked~GOD, how we smoked. A few guys brought guitars and sang. Night was my favorite time of day. CAVEATS: 1. The food stinks. If you don't eat meat, you won't eat very much. 2.The pharmacy will give you meds you never heard of before. Too many, often contraindicated with each other. DO NOT take them unless YOUR doc prescribed them. I pretended to take them and pocketed them to throw away. 3.Our shrink was an idiot. All he ever did was hand me a piece of paper after 15 minutes and say, "Make a list." Never made one because he never asked for it back, or specified what he wanted. Every. Single. Week. 4. One of the girls next door to our room worked as a nurse with the physician in a Dallas hospital, and had dirt on him that made us laugh so hard we almost cried. Among other things, he was an ex-con who did time for operating while intoxicated. She was scrubbing and saw him being escorted out in handcuffs by two armed policemen. >Well, things have likely changed now, as that was nearly 30 years ago. We didn't have cell phones, radios, or TV (except in the rec room), so it was pretty quiet. We actually TALKED to each other. I made friends quickly. I cried during my first intake, cried when someone was beaded (farewell ceremony), and cried when I left. As a retread, returning was like coming home. Everybody hugged me, happy to see me. That second time, I wasn't at ALL ready when I had to go. Which brings me to: CAVEAT 5. DO NOT let them convince you to go straight to "aftercare." I made that mistake after being cornered by my counselors. Barely escaped that corrupt place with my life after 5 days. I fell right off the wagon, I was so traumatized. >Keep these things in mind (see, I made a LIST!), and you should emerge from La Ha just fine, with tears in your eyes, beads, and a Big Book full of signatures, addresses and phone numbers, just like high school. Good luck. Stay clean.

They claim they can deal with patients that have mental illnesses but they cannot, I was sent from here to a mental institution at a very difficult time in my life and was told I would be brought back after 72 hours.… Well after my stay in the hospital they told me sorry we can't help you and recommend an out of state rehab that costs double digit thousands (with insurance). I'm now sober 4 years completely on my own, no higher power, no meetings, no medications, no therapy or psychologist. It's a money grab were they force bogus 12 step ideology (that has no scientific backing) on you. Oh and it costs about 30,000 dollars a month. If you look at recovery rates between those who attend meetings and go to rehab vs those who seek no treatment (self will) they are the same around 5-7% being successful. They lied to me about being able to come back that's what pisses me off the most. They tried to get me to go live in a sober living facility when I first arrived. I told them I have an active lease. Their response? "So what just break it". How would that have benefited me? The accumulation of unpayable debt and the possibility of not getting another apartment if I were to get kicked out of "Sober Living"? It's all one big BS money grab I'm sure they would have "recommended" a particular sober living. The idea that you need to follow the twelve steps and join a cult is wrong. All the people involved in AA/NA have been brainwashed to believe in a different perception of reality no different than religion. After getting kicked out I attended AA meetings and decided it wasn't for me. They couldn't answer the hard questions, they tried to force their ideology on me, but I refused to believe in a higher power because I'm an Atheist. I believe the cause of my episode that led to me being sent to the psych ward was due to the fact that they took me off all my other meds and replaced them with different medications upon arrival. At the psych ward the psychiatrist informed me LaHa had me on 4 different antipsychotics and that no doctor in their right mind would prescribe that many different antipsychotics at once. I disliked that I was expected to do social things while there. I'm naturally an introvert and have no friends nor do I care to have a relationship of any kind with other humans outside of work where I have to in order to make a living. I guess if your weak minded and believe you have no self will and you have a disease (which is BS) then maybe this place if for you, it DOES work for many people if your willing to allow yourself to be brainwashed. I believe the whole foundation of addiction and recovery needs a reworking backed by SCIENCE. The food at LaHa was good I'll give them that. That's about the only positive thing I have to say about it...

Words could never express my appreciation for the team at La Hacienda. The buildings are older than I expected, but the love and treatment there is state of the art. The time spent there will put you or your love one on… the right track to the life you are seeking. The family program is not easy, but plays a huge role in success. The family support during and after is amazing. It is like an extended family reunion of support each week, where joys are celebrated and those experiencing set backs are supported. Our family will always appreciate and be thankful for La Ha.

There are very few residential programs in Texas as good as Laha for individuals struggling with addiction. They have a beautiful campus that gives these nostalgic summer camp vibes that brings you back to a happier… time. The perfect environment to reconnect with that inner child that needs some healing. The staff is knowledgeable and really compassionate. They go above and beyond for the clients they work with. I would happily recommend or refer any friend, family member, collogue or client here for treatment.

To put it pretty simple. If you are willing to get help this might be your place. If you have really true problems with addiction then you might want to reconsider going somewhere else. My niece was supposed to be… released on 5/23/25. We spoke with Linda and we decided that 5/30/25 would be better. She then called and said a week later that it was back to original date of 23rd because my niece wasn't excepting staying any longer than that. Doctors missed diagnosed completely. Anyways got a call on the 13th saying if I could get a bus ticket arranged my niece could come home now. Basically they wanted her gone. For as much money as this cost you'd think they wouldn't want to take the easy road but they did. They are not up for the challenge (just simple and easy). They took my niece to a bus stop 10 hours plus prior to her bus arrival time and Basically kicked her out. A person with addiction and them knowing she wasn't well the just dropped her off. SUM IT UP. She drinks she gets drunk she misses getting off bus in denton texas she ends up in Ardmore Oklahoma and going to hospital from cuts and bruises and then to Carter County jail for public intoxication. Now I realize someone has to want to quit to quit. But don't let la haciendas glam, scenery and great food fool you. If it's not a easy ride for them they don't want you there. They're not up for a challenge. La hacienda y'all were plenty aware of her situation before taking her on. I give detailed information about her. The doctors missed diagnosis by a mile. If you can't then say you can't. Do better

I was a patient at “LaHa” in the late 1990s. I am an atheist and I told them so when I was admitted. They told me that my skepticism toward religion would not matter. That was a lie. There was no Google back then so I… couldn’t have posted a review but I woke up today and decided that I would finally denounce La Hacienda and their 12-Step scam. It’s a rip-off and it doesn’t work. I now wish that I had filed a lawsuit or some kind of formal complaint back in 1998 but I was a heroin addict and an atheist in Texas and I didn’t think it would do any good.

My experience with Brittany, an addiction specialist with La Hacienda, occurred by chance. I was given her name as a person that "knew the ins and outs of Texas rehab centers". I finally called her when a different… rehab center said they were out of network, but then still recommend La Hacienda and contacting Brittany as a first choice. I was in the position of trying to help my friend recover from a severe addiction. I'd been trying to be effective in my attempts for 2 yrs. I had compromised my rules and boundaries to allow for communication with my friend. I was depressed & overwhelmed with the process. I felt an extreme obligation to make this work at any cost. I further felt failure because I am a physician myself. This is what I am supposed to be capable of doing. This is the state of mind I was in when Brittany answered my phone call. Brittany is a well-organized open book. She weaves her own journey with her extensive knowledge of how addiction works. This made her a welcomed voice of both reason and structure to a rapidly deteriorating situation. We called my friend together. I was worried my friend would simply decline to talk to her or become angry about a percieved ambush. This was his initial reaction. He attempted to end the conversation almost immediately. Brittany used empathy, humor, and an explanation of what the call was truly about - to ask my friend how he was doing allowing for a connection to be made between them. She successfully kept my friend on the phone for over an hour. She had him laughing. I have 15 years of experience being a physician, and I was beyond impressed at Brittany's ability to maintain approachibility while talking about issues that would usually shut my friend down. She bypassed egos, she bypassed the fear of judgement, and the fear of being confronted. I truly felt I was on the phone with the person that would give my friend the best chance at recovery. I now know that feeling occurred because I was on the phone with that person. Brittany also helped me. She helped me realize the limitations of my voice due to my position as a friend. She helped me communicate with my friend's family. She was on the call when my friend's family was introduced to the reality of a situation that had gone unacknowledged for too long. Any acknowledgement they had given the situation resulted in denial of its severity and attempts to correct a complex disease such as addiction with quick, ineffective solutions. I do not blame them. Reality can be devastating. Brittany is an example of how healthcare is supposed to operate - insightful vast knowledge and experience delievered with a compassionate honesty that allows each person involved to be heard. Brittany remained in active contact with me throughout the process. She lent a sympathetic ear to my concerns. I assumed she would not want to hear a story she has likely heard too many times. I was wrong. Every call was met with advice, pointing out incorrect thoughts of self-blame, and an optimism that I could no longer provide. I consider Brittany a friend now. It would be hard not to as she has spoken to my friend and myself with a depth of emotional intelligence and realness that went beyond her responsibilities. Unfortunately, this process can be an extensively exhausting and negative experience. Fortunately, people like Brittany actually exist. I am so thankful for her. I love knowing she is out there helping others. The physician side of me viewed Brittany as an emotionally intelligent, invested, passionate individual that any healthcare provider would consider a central asset to the success of the treatment plan. As this is a Google review, I will attempt to end with a more succinct statement: Brittany saves lives. Brittany gives hope and has the skills to achieve success. I thought my friend was gone. I will forever be thankful and consider myself lucky to have connected with Brittany. Without a doubt, I highly recommend contacting her. It does not matter what stage you or your loved one is in - her addition to the process is invaluable.

La Hacienda saved my life. I was really struggling with substances and mental health - it was my first (and only) treatment and I needed to find the right place for me. I was scared and didn’t know anything about… treatment and I needed to find a trustworthy review to read and encourage me to take the leap of faith - so here it is my friends. LaHa staff is amazing, the people there are all marching towards the same goal - sobriety and a better life. From amazing medical staff, to hands on daily doctors, to mental health and building the framework of sobriety with both AA & NA meetings offered daily, to 1:1 therapy and group therapy - LaHa is the place to recover. Also, the family program was amazing and helped my family understand addiction, mental health, and how to navigate this together. Beautiful “Serenity Hill” to contemplate at, a nice pool, great gym, tons of activities - a great blend of recovery, and room to relax a bit - if you’re like me you need to catch up on a bit of rest. The extended care team helped me find an IOP and Sober Living in Colorado - now 80 days clean and spending Thanksgiving with my family. Thank you to Brittany, Clayton, Dan, Newell, Clay, all of the doctors - the entire LaHa staff. - Parker B

I went to La Hacienda this year after having some sober time, but relapsing. The care and compassion I received blew me away. There's a reason they've been around forever and will remain forever. They are simply the… best.

This place was a game changer for my life. The program is detailed enough that anyone can understand. Get what is needed for a good sober life. Supportive. Friendly. Calls on me to check after leaving. A+++ I’d send a… family member.

La Hacienda saved my life! It is a beautiful campus and the doctors and counselors are the best in the industry. There is no other treatment center in the state that I would refer to. This place taught me how to live a… positive and sober life. Hands down the best care you can receive. If you are struggling with addiction and ready to regain your life please give La Hacienda a call.
