Lawrence Healthcare Center – Indianapolis Reviews and Ratings
Patients remember things about Lawrence Healthcare Center that no register holds: who answered the phone, how the first day went, whether family were included.
If you have that kind of knowledge, a review in this section passes it on.
I want to start off by saying all the therapists are good, and i like the new director. However, there were some questionable things that happened while I was here. I had an incident where a client came through a… bedroom that was connected to mine, and he confronted me and attempted to assault me. Staff intervened shortly after. HOWEVER, they did not kick the client out, which set me off really bad. They had kicked a client out previously for assaulting two clients. Just know this place is a bit prejudice. The same client went and made a girl touch him in an area of himself in her room without permission. THAT IS CONSIDERED SEXUAL ASSAULT. Let's just say she was balling her eyes out after, and he got kicked out. This could've been prevented if they removed him in the first place. I was extremely angry by this and the fact they did not call cops on him. Beware of people cheeking there suboxone snd snorting it. There was also an incident were a client had a seizure because he had smoked spice that he snuck in. If you want to take your recovery seriously, don't come here. People talk about doing drugs all the time. Most are here for a place to stay or court ordered, with the very few who came on there own like me. I've been through this program twice and dont reccomened it. Shoutout to my therapist Shanese though, she was awesome. Food sucks here, didnt eat it and was hungry most the time. I'm tired of hearing the racial slurs thrown around all the time. Don't go here at any cost unless you want to put up with alot of unessesary stuff.
Do not come here if you truly care about your sobriety. It’s about equal to a homeless encampment/phych ward. Most people there just to get out of the cold. 3/4 of staff are extremely rude. Physical Fights and screaming… matches between staff and clients or between clients daily. (Coed facility) Watched a male sexually assault 3 different females over the span of 3 days and was allowed to stay by female director due to “mental health reasons.” Clients not allowed to use washer/dryers in a locked room but staff responsible for doing laundry tells clients “no im not your housekeeper” and won’t open the door so u can do it. Groups consist mostly of YouTube videos or movies but group attendance is how the facility gets paid so you’re forced to attend and be around craziness not helping your recovery in any way if not making it worse. Jail food. Inconsistency’s on top of everything else adding stressors. Every day and every shift change is a different program/set of rules depending on what staff is working doing what they want. Schedule changed 3 time in 2 weeks but isn’t followed, rarely are the topics followed if done at all. No individualized therapy, gym, chef and track as advertised or admissions will tell you. Treatment plan/aftercare plan was totally messed up and forced to scramble and figure out alternatives days after completing the program. Pcp appt scheduled for 20 days out post discharge was a doctor that wasn’t licensed or able to help with what I was sent there for. Also left hanging with the wrong meds sent, wrong mg on some, wrong quantity to even last me to pcp appt and refused to make it right. Upon dishcharge other clients can’t get their former case managers to send completion docs to enforcement agencies needing said docs. Severe disconnect between leadership staff and what’s truly going on. Some medical staff, Angela (therapist), Shaun (bht) and Nicole (bht) genuinely care about people/were great. Only positive was getting separation and clean time in but that can be done literally anywhere else and actually leave with tools to help/set you up for success.
I came to Lawrence HealthCare Center for support on my recovery and that's what I got. The staff was awesome and very helpful. Super nice place and good support and resources.
