Just went there for the first time today to see about volunteering. Julie was super nice and we had a great conversation. A few people were there and we had some great conversations too. Just super nice and most… importantly genuine people. I learned alot and hope to continue to learn more. Definitely would recommend atleast checking it out whether your part of the community or an ally like myself. I felt very welcomed and I felt they were comfortable with me. Which I appreciate. Hope to be volunteering more soon. Again big shoutout to Julie. Just a great person.
I wanted to thank everyone there that helped me and my husband out when I had very little food and other articles we were in need of. No questions asked. Sadly we are once again on hard time, and I’m hoping your arms… are open again for us. Thank you and God Bless.
Good
Hi, I'm new here and since I see all the comments, I'd like to join the LGBT community since I don't have any friends. I'm trans, but I don't know any other trans people to support the community.
These people are angels sent from above. They have hearts of gold, and love to help anyone that is willing to help themselves. They all deserve more credit than what they are give. I will never stop telling Laura,… Suzanne, Jox, and Mr. Greg how much I am grateful for them and how much they mean to me. The government wants to cut their funding, but I could reach and tell people how much this place needs to stay open I would. They gave me hope and a chance. In less in a month my whole universe turned around. I had nothing left and now all I want to do is give I all I can for them. No matter what happens you will all do great things in this life. Thank you all so much for making me smile again. You saved my life. I will always be thankful for people like you in this world. God bless you all! 💜
Laura the new director is unkind; unapproachable and over all just a horrible human being. As a parent you come in as a crisis, explaining your kids situations as victims of LGBTQ in local school district trauma and… more then you call to seek her help and she is too important to give an answer so rude. I absolutely miss Michelle. This center won’t be opened much longer because Laura isn’t a nice person.
Wish they didn't change the food pantry. Before you could go in weekly. Now I won't be able to.go.because it ends at 4pm and I'll be at work. Was going to.go today after work because tuesday you use to be able to go… till 6pm
April is Autism Awareness Month. Adult queer autistics won’t find community in Berks. The Center is far behind the neurodiversity 8-ball and leaves vulnerable adult & senior queers without any supports or access to a… community/staff/volunteers who understand our complex needs. But there are countless groups for able-bodied queers with privilege. Equity and inclusion should be the goal.#acceptance #understanding #support #love #invisibleillness #ABAisAbuse
They're very helpful! The place is always so warm and inviting. Super grateful for all this center does ❤️
Very helpful staff on the phone. Responded to my question quickly and politely. This Center is a great resource for all LGBTQIA+ people in Berks County.
Used the food pantry. Very nice and fresh vegetables from their garden. Very nice people 👍 👌 👏 😀 😊
It was my 1st time ever there. I must say I was very impressed with with all they do to help others. Pleasant people there too.
