M and M Behav Health Solutions LLC – Glen Burnie Address, Location and Contact Information

The site is at 1406 Crain Highway South in Glen Burnie, Maryland, 21061. The city lies within Anne Arundel County. People travel in from the surrounding area, and confirming the route beforehand saves difficulty. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

Edmond is fantastic. He is a therapist who actually listens to you and provides input. He is very knowledgeable and insightful. He’s not my first therapist at this practice, but he’s the best one I’ve had.

Recently I'd started taking my grandson to therapy at M&M Behavioral Solutions. His therapist is Sam Dixon, I am very impressed and hopeful with Sams technique and approach that made my grandson warm up and open up to… him immediately. I am so glad that M&M and Sam Dixon are helping him. I recommend them both VERY highly.

Unfortunately I have seen a couple different psychiatrist at this facility, and none of them seem to actually listen or care. They push medications on you that you have explained you have already tried and have had no… success. They are more worried about the paper work they have to fill out in order to get you on the right medications and have commented about how they don’t want to be “on anyone’s radar” for prescribing medications that are necessary in certain situations. If you are doing your job and assessing the patients mental health and they would benefit with certain medications, there is no reason you would have any issues prescribing the right medication and doses. I have done my best to advocate for myself and pleaded for help. When you express your concerns about how they do not seem to understand or listen, they get defensive and make you feel awful and try to blame it on the guidelines they must follow, even though all guidelines have been followed, they still do not want to bother with having to file paperwork to explain why other medications are necessary. I do not feel these psychiatrist are sympathetic or helpful in any way and would not recommend anyone to this facility. My mental health has ultimately declined drastically due to the neglect of their responsibilities as professional health care providers.

No one here actually cares about Mental Health. The therapist (I believe her name was Megan) I only saw twice before stopping. The first appointment with her I arrived early and sat in the waiting room till almost 15… mins past my appointment time and she blamed the computer system. Maybe if she got up and walked out to the waiting room, because she knew she had a patient, then it wouldn't have wasted my time. My whole appt she watched the clock on the wall. It was noticeable and made me very uncomfortable. At that first appt I was very direct with what I was looking for from therapy so at my next appointment I expected us to just get to work. Nope. At my second appt she also watched the clock and asked unnecessary questions that wasted my appt time. Both appts I was under the impression they were 1 hr sessions but instead was told they were 45 mins which is fine but she ended them at about 30 mins so she could "walk me up front to schedule my next appt". I was desperately looking for therapy for a specific reason and was not in a good place at that point in time which I discussed with her. She only wanted to see me every 2 weeks which blew my mind because I felt I needed twice a week! I just don't understand. Terrible patient care especially after I felt I really expressed my need for help. In no way did she act like I was more than just her next paycheck. As for the psych NP (Kassandra) I saw for medication management. I went along with her diagnosis and med plan. She wasn't the friendliest and came off pretty cold actually. I knew the medications were not safe for pregnancy and that I would eventually need to stop when/if I became pregnant. Well I did become pregnant and I reached out immediately for guidance. Her guidance was to just stop taking them. Cold turkey. So I did and I went downhill bad! I was trying hard to wait until my first OB appt but could not wait! I was having auras and my anxiety was so severe I could barely function. Come to find out some of the medications I was taking should NOT be abruptly stopped and almost caused me to have a seizure (which I have history of and the OB I spoke to could NOT believe she did this to me saying it was not safe). The medication I took for anxiety, which she REFUSED to sign for a 90 day supply so my insurance could cover it, is actually one of the safest to take while pregnant for anxiety/blood pressure (according to my OB). I ended up paying the pharmacy out of pocket for it ($6) because I was having panic attacks (which cant possibly be safer for pregnancy). When I finally received a call from my OB she sent a new prescription right away. Terrible patient care. If you are going to be prescribing medication for people with mental health issues then maybe you should be educated in pregnant people with mental health issues. Just avoid this place.

They never return phone calls or answer the phone. What's the point of being open if you don't answer the phone?

★☆☆☆☆
Aubryana Galloway4 years ago

Review is solely based on no returned calls. I was referral and reached out on 3 different occasions (yes different times). Never had the chance to speak with anyone nor did I receive a returned call from voicemails… left. If anyone has a referral for an establishment who can assist with a second opinion for a mental health evaluation, please advise.

First appointment today. My husband and I went in the wrong door. I signed in and we waited. A guy came in and asked what he could help us with. He then let us know we needed to go to the next door. When we went in the… other office EVERYONE!! and I literally mean EVERY person that worked there was friendly and positive. The therapist that I have is Penny. She’s so great!! I’ve been to many therapists and haven’t found one like her. Although this was my first appointment I really felt comfortable with her. I read most of the reviews on Google and I can’t say that I could agree with them because I didn’t experience anything negative that they have. Not saying that the other people are wrong but the only thing that somewhat disappointed me was that I didn’t get to see any chickens. Hopefully other people can see past the bad reviews and give this place a chance. We all need to work on ourselves. It takes the right person to help others and you never know what therapist is gonna be the one that helps you change for the better. Sometimes you just gotta try different ones to get with the right one. Don’t give up on yourself Keep trying!!

I’ve been coming here since they were in the old building and I love this place! I used to see Dustin before he moved on, and I found another amazing therapist after him. She’s absolutely wonderful and actually listens… to me and cares about me. She even has a therapy cat that she brings into the office. I see a lot of comments about bringing in the chicken or dogs into the office, but they are therapy animals. And I personally loved it. I loved the experience of petting the chicken, or having my emotional support dog being able to interact with other animals there, since I would bring him before the office closed because of covid. The front desk staff has always been nothing but kind and professional. Every once in a while I see someone new in there and they aren’t that kind, but after a few times of dealing with them, they seem to disappear. I’m assuming they got let go because of the bad attitude. But Danni (sorry if it’s spelled wrong) at the front desk has always been amazing to me. She’s so sweet and adorable and extremely helpful. She’s like, the backbone of the front desk staff. In my opinion, this is the best therapy office that I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been in therapy for about 15 years now in two different states. M&M has helped me so much over the past 3-4 years I’ve been going there, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

The psychiatrist I saw made me so angry I complained at the front desk. What got me was the front desk lady saying, "him again? He gets alot of complaints"....they force you to see therapist in order to get medication.… What if you don't want or need therapy? Long story short, I moved on to another office.

Continued from previous post....He actually cared about undesirable side effects, like lack of libido and weight gain. He didn't just say deal with it because the goal is to manage the psych issues, and everything else… is whatever. He gave you his personal number for after hour concerns or questions. Just nothing bad to say about him at all. He is the sole shining star of the office. Now my counselor...at first seemed a little bit slow in the beginning but I kind of liked her quirkiness. Even though it took her 5-10 seconds to react to what you said. And she too gave me her personal number for after hours, and genuinely seemed concerned. However, her methods did not work for me, even after telling her this, she continued them the entire 3 years I was there. She even had me doing water colors. By the way, I am entirely grown and have not played with water colors since the 3rd grade. Then at one point she said a very inappropriate racial comment asking what I was mixed with to make my African American hair grow so long since, and I quote "i know black people's hair doesn't grow; it just breaks off." I gave that comment up to blind ignorance on black culture and not understanding the gravity of the absurdities that just came out of her mouth. I gave her a brief education on black hair and moved on. The final straw, though, was when I invited a relative to one of my sessions and the counselor asked her if she could tell her the concerns I had expressed in a previous session about her. Now me knowing the fragile mental health she was in I specifically said "No", because she was only there to see how therapy works, so that I could encourage her to seek her own psychiatric aide. The counselor said, "as your counselor I think she should know so I'm owing of tell her anyway." This was an outright breach of client-counselor privilege and HIPPA. After that I hated seeing her more and more. I started missing appointments for little things, which I very did before. Then finally I told you prescriber what happened and he suggested a different counselor in the office. So I told her I thanked her for rent efforts, but I need to find a different counselor. Around that time, I got pregnant and had so many initial appointments I waited about a month to schedule an appointment with the new counselor, and in between that I had missed 1 appointment with the prescriber. So I went into effect office and scheduled andppointments with the prescriber and counselor in mid May of this year. I arrive at my appointment with the prescriber a week later and the receptionist says, "I don't see you on the schedule." I told when I came in and who scheduled. She looks into my account and says, "you were discharged May 3rd, since you haven't been here in over a month. Anne sent you a letter with recommendations." Now mind you, they've had no problem calling me for payments, but I miss an appointment because of being pregnant no one calls to find out why this punctual 3 year client is all of a sudden missing appointments. You just send a letter to the wrong address at that. Now I would be considered a new patient and have to do intake YET AGAIN! At this point I was through with them, until I got home and saw I only had 2 weeks meds left. Which thinking about how hard and how long it took to find 1 place to accept me, I knew it would be nearly impossible to find a doctor, get an appointment, and have my mail order pharmacy get me my prescription in 2 weeks. So I said well I will go back temporarily so I could get my 90 day refill. I called to try to set up my intake appointment, and they said I'm considered a new patient and they are not accepting new patients, but I could sign up for the waiting list.😠 3 years I put up with their unprofessional, HIPPA breaking, employee's kids, dogs, and chickens running through the facility, and as soon as you finally get a surplus of clients you drop me. Bottom line I would never EVER recommend them to anyone. They have taken the mental health field and made a mockery of it. They are not worth the aggravation.
