MCCA – Bridgeport Reviews and Ratings
Personal accounts of MCCA sit in this section. Patterns across several reviews, such as repeated comments about communication or waiting times, are a better guide than any single account.
After attending MCCA for an entire year, I can honestly say what an amazing and supportive program Director Laura Boff , the clinicians, and the staff have created within an underserved community like Bridgeport. The… team at MCCA has taken the time to educate themselves and genuinely welcome the community they serve in an authentic and compassionate way. I am one of many clients who have received services through MCCA, and I can proudly speak to the support, understanding, and care they provide. Every session truly felt like being part of a supportive community. The stigma surrounding programs like MCCA is completely inaccurate because instead, I found a space where I felt welcomed, protected, and understood. Not only did they provide me with the support I needed throughout my recovery journey, but they also provided me and others with valuable resources and tools to continue moving forward in life. Thank you to MCCA for going above and beyond during my time there, and a very special thank you to Laura for believing in me and encouraging me every step of the way. Best, GRF
The best services in I.o.p,anger management & one on one talk therapy. They really help wholeheartedly.
This place is DISRESPECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL and DIFFICULT to work with when someone has IED. The receptionist is EXTREMELY rude. Not wanting to help with questions or anything. The assessment lady want to hear nothing… about your story or you explaining things cutting you off when you explain your life a little further saying “that’s not what I asked” when you answer her questions with a bit of explanation. This happened multiple times in an assessment. If the court EVER has this place call you for an assessment refuse and call bail to have an another place reach out. I don’t understand why people get into the field to help people and not want to deal with people and their needs or have patients for people. State workers are the most rude and unhelpful people ever
This was my first experience with any sort of IOP…I was terrified but from day one I felt so much comfort and connection. My group was ALL walks of life, and the bond was immediate. My insurance unfortunately made me… leave too soon, but I am forever indebted to the people & professionals I met there. Love & Miss you all!!
I would like to first and foremost congratulate Ms Laura for a job super well done. I've been in this place before in comparison with the ZEN feelings and vibes at this establishment I would ruin the feel. Before the… tension coming from the staff and clients was high; feeling to a point as a trigger for relapses. Now this site is comfortable, very calm soothing and relaxed environmental atmosphere. Peaceful and calming are the staff that works here and very supportive and hands on. They are together delivering exceptional world class service to our neighborhoods, communities and towns-To our people.
Lovely and the people are super compassionate and a big help
Helped me maintain my sobriety.,till this day. Councilor Melissa from the Bridgeport office helped me out from the beginning to the end. She remains part of my sobriety team.i truly appreciated her n all the work she… did...
This experience can be scary and hard to navigate without knowing what to expect in an environment full of strangers discussing your private life. But I have to say I’ve been attending classes for about 5 months now.… And since my initial evaluation with Milissa Flores, one of the lead counselors, she immediately made me feel comfortable and accepted. Walked me through every step of what to expect in classes and from the program as a whole. She makes each person feel welcome and especially as a female in some classes full of men, opens her door to make you feel safe to come to her with any concerns or issues. She leads her groups with an honest open approach, where you can talk about anything - judgment free, while learning the skills needed to move forward coping with triggers and stress without the means of alcohol as a solution. She really gives every person the opportunity to speak at their pace and not push them to feel forced. I can’t say the same for every counselor there, or other programs. I’m truly thankful for the ease she has made me and others feel, and her help in my continued path of sobriety. She really goes above and beyond always with a smile and positive energy!
MCCA help me on my recovery help me identify my triggers and how to prevent them the staff is amazing especially Melissa she has help me a lot and is the best
How am I suppose get help and be successful when they want to charge me $300 a week for IOP....Thats insane. They said I have to meet my deductable of $2000 before my insurance pays it. I understand that. But still $300… is not reasonable. My mortgage is $1590 a month. Hopefully I could work something out.
Utmost professional staff. Well prepared and experienced. Very well meaning and caring. Down to earth, very understanding of individuals and their personal situations. Initial expectations were shattered, began to view… the opportunity as group therapy and very much came to enjoy the experience. Amazing staff. Extremely caring and will do whatever is in their power to help with individuals experiencing mental health issues all the way to substances.
