About Meta Addiction Treatment – North Reading

Meta Addiction Treatment sits at 55 Concord Street, North Reading — around 2.0 miles from Reading and 2.1 from Wilmington. The practical catchment runs to roughly 5 miles, covering Lynnfield, Wakefield, Woburn and Burlington. The facility falls within Middlesex County for the purposes of state and county-funded treatment.

The facility runs partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. SAMHSA holds the federal registration; the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services the state license. Medication-assisted treatment is part of the offer, the approach with the strongest evidence for opioid dependence. Co-occurring conditions are handled concurrently rather than one after the other. Sessions can be held remotely where travel is difficult. Trauma-focused work forms part of the approach.

When I first started my intensive outpatient therapy program at Victory Bay, I was a bit skeptical of the process. The beginning was intense — 3 3-hour group sessions per week, plus a 1:1 appointment with your personal… therapist? Why is all of that time so necessary! I quickly learned, however, that the hours, special attention, and focus were all necessary to help me achieve the goals I’d set for myself long ago, but was too burnt out even try. At Victory Bay, I have found knowledgeable, compassionate professionals who always have your best interests at heart. I am new to Boston, having only been here a year, but I don’t know how I would have made it without the care, guidance, and the exceptional community of Victory Bay.

Abandoned Military Family: Recommended my 17 y/o for inpatient care and promised a reassessment upon discharge. After successful completing the program they refused to take our calls leaving us scrambling for another… TriCare friendly program during a high risk transition.

Life saving people and place with great structure and support to help me get back on my feet in a safe space. Full day, half day, virtual and alumni treatment to meet you where you are and set you up for success. Can’t… say enough good things about Meta!

META changed my life, hands down. I was so skeptical going into the program, especially with a mental health focus instead of addiction. Now I wish I never had to leave! The staff instantly make you feel like you belong… and you’re exactly where you need to be. I built my confidence back up and learned so many skill! The DBT approach was more helpful to me than any 1:1 therapy I had tried before. Building community and support in the group model was also very powerful. If you’re not sure about going, I’m here to say you should give it a try. You won’t regret it! -R!

I was at a near breaking point with my mental health when I found Meta for a mental health IOP program. I've always been hesitant about seeking care with outpatient programs due to seeing friends who said the care made… them feel worse. My psychiatric NP was worried because most facilities near me had waitlists of up to a month. I was drowning. Desperate, I reached out to one of their facilities who directed me to Meta, who took my insurance. When they say they can see if your insurance covers the care within an hour, they absolutely mean it. When beginning the intake process the staff was nothing but encouraging. By the end of the day, I already had the intake process started. Beginning the program was fast as I was able to start immediately. Their NP team was so helpful with helping me file for PFML. You can attend in person or join on Zoom. This was such a relief as Meta is an hour and a half away from me. Meta provides the most accessible mental health program I have seen. I also can't say enough about the care team. There's a blend of advice from people who want to see you grow. Groups are the best with Kayla's sharp insight and Liz's gentle guidance. Not only am I able to connect with my therapists, but others who are also seeking support. I'll be taking friendships with me when my time with Meta comes to a close. If you are on the fence about reaching out for professional support, come to Meta. It truly has been a wonderful experience.

I've struggled with my mental health for most of my life and always kept afloat one way or another, but Meta was the biggest turning point for me. I've felt so supported everyday while given an environment I felt safe… in to heal. They've given me knowledge and coping skills that I will carry with me throughout my life. I'm very grateful to the Meta team and everyone I've met through them. For the first time since I was a kid I feel like I'm living and not just holding on.

I first started going to Meta to be compliant, because it was strongly recommended by all my loved ones. Eventually, I came to surrender to the practices and curriculums the facility had to offer, plus all the wonderful… staff involved. They willingly took me in like a stray puppy, guiding me, helping me along this scary, but thrilling chapter in my life. I of course, had support from my family, friends, AA, and therapy as well. Anyways, Meta got me at, "Hello and welcome. We are here to help you. "

I was a Meta client from October 2024-May/June 2025. To say Meta has changed my life would be an understatement—I was extremely hesitant and resistant at first when I started at the Haverhill, MA location but was met… with love, support, and ultimately, an understanding that getting help is okay. The PHP and IOP programs are transformational, and I wouldn’t be here without them. Thank you so much to the staff, clinicians, and case managers who worked relentlessly to help me! I will miss it but would recommend Meta to anyone.

Meta laid the groundwork for my recovery, and I can say it’s changed my life in ways I never expected. The night staff—especially Brooke and Kiana— go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and heard. They… don’t just do their job—they show up with their whole heart. You can feel how much they care, and that kind of compassion truly sticks with you. The support I’ve received from the staff since day one has been consistent & genuine. Many of the staff are in recovery themselves, and that creates a level of understanding and safety that’s incredibly rare. The groups are filled with people who are real, kind, and supportive. We all come from different walks of life, but everyone is here for the same reason—and we lift each other up through it. I’ve made real connections and found sober friendships that continue to motivate me daily. If you’re looking for a space where people care, show up, and walk beside you while you grow—Meta is that place!! I’m so grateful for the continued support on this journey. 😄

I will be forever grateful to everyone at Meta for the invaluable support I received during a very challenging period in my life. Everyone there is kind, caring, and compassionate. Meta offers a wide array of counselors… with both lived experience and expert training. They made a difficult journey much more accessible by providing me with all the resources I needed. I especially appreciate that they continue to follow up with me even after I've completed the program. If you are struggling or concerned or just have questions, give Meta a call.

The time I spent at META changed my life. I was a shell of a human being when I first arrived and everyone at META embraced me immediately. I learned throughout my time most of the staff are in recovery themselves, so… they truly understand where their patients are coming from. This made me feel extremely comfortable. When I entered the program, I was afraid of just about everything life had to throw my way, I was complacent doing nothing with my life. However, after spending months embracing and applying the teachings from META my life has completely turned around. I am now able to enjoy every aspect of life and understand and embrace the not so great parts of life. I've even made some incredible friends throughout my time with META. We keep in touch regularly. If you are in need of a space where everyone will understand you, I highly suggest giving META a shot.

Meta really saved my life. All the staff are amazing people who really cared about me and what I was going through. They were very supportive and got me through my darkest times. I came to Meta feeling lost and alone,… but now after months of treatment my mindset has changed and have become mentally stronger and I can over come any obstacles and challenges with the tools I have learned at Meta. I feel more like my old self and I look forward to continuing my sessions and becoming even more mentally strong. Thank you to the Meta staff for all the help and continued support. 🏓

Meta has been extremely helpful for me in my journey in sobriety. The staff is all so supportive, kind, and give you the tools to succeed. It’s hard to do IOP after working all day but the staff provides the motivation… for someone to want to login to zoom so you can better yourself. The groups are always insightful. The entire staff is amazing and I have learned from every staff member I’ve encountered while at Meta. Thank you! I couldn’t recommend them enough

META Addiction treatment is quite an amazing place . I have gone through outpatient treatment previously and thought it was great but now attending META I can say that I would highly recommend META. The staff are all… incredibly dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable. When I am struggling, there is always at least one or two counselors that will take the time to help and provide any support needed. Casey, who is in charge at this facility is caring and extremely understanding. This makes it an even better experience for myself and I am going to continue here for as long as necessary to get better . Thank you all for everything you have done for me!

Meta was such a positive experience for me. I think that every single person that works at Meta really cares about each patient and wants to help you succeed. Many of the staff are open about their own struggles with… addiction and it makes you feel less alone and gives you hope that you can do it too. I have had to come back to the program a few times and each time I was not judged. I know that if I have to go back again in the future that I will be welcomed with open arms and supported to the best of their ability.
