I know this facility has mixed reviews, but I wanted to share our experience so far. My father was recently transferred here after a very serious hospitalization involving dehydration, malnutrition, lithium toxicity,… sepsis, and aspiration pneumonia. During our first visit we were able to meet with his doctor, Dr. Coughlin, and the staff working with him. Everyone we encountered was kind, professional, and took time to speak with us about his care and recovery plan. The facilities and grounds are well kept, and the environment felt calm and organized. From what we have seen so far, the staff truly seem to care about the patients. We are already seeing signs of progress with my dad, including him standing with assistance and beginning to eat again. It may be too early to give a final rating, but based on our first visit and the care we have seen so far, we are very grateful for the doctors and staff who are working with him and helping him get back on his feet.

My son is 15 years old and he has been at this hospital for a month now. The staff have been awesome to my son. I really appreciate them for helping my son with his issues. This is by far the best facility he has Ever… been too. BIG THANKS to the Social Worker EMONI. You are truly an inspiration to these kids. I wish the world had more people like you that actually care. Keep up the good work 👏

I would not rate this ward a 1 star. It is actually rated a zero. Anybody or family can just toss someone in and they get severely mistreated to the point of cancer and death. I would rather be anywhere else and never… in the state of MS.

I disapprove of this establishment, I am aware that they released a patient because and I quote “he’s driving our other residents insane” like it’s a mental home. Treat this patient, rather than releasing them.

Around 2019 to the beginning of 2020 right before lockdown I was in this hospital. I originally was only supposed to spend a couple of weeks here. I ended up spending 6 months most likely due to my behavior. Dealing… with schizophrenia coming here was probably a good thing for my mental health. In all honesty the hospital itself was somewhat under maintenanced but nowhere near some of these other reviews speak of which makes me think some of them are over exaggerated. The staff were honestly pretty nice, I gave some of them to much trouble in all honesty and if any of them ever reads this I do apologize. In all honesty I don't know what people expect when going to a place like this. It isn't going to be luxurious especially in our state. The food honestly wasn't terrible but wasn't anywhere near enough some nights. Overall not a terrible experience. This was the last facility I've been to as well. Been doing better for 4 or 5 years now I hope I can maintain that. Best wishes

Was there for 2 months. The staff were rude and dismissive. And even downright mean. The food was terrible and most of the time cold. A toilet was falling in, stopped up shower drains, and a tv with only 1 channel with… no cable. There were no activities. Only word search puzzles. This place really needs to be shut down

What a horrible place! Queeta provokes clients unfortunately! Dr belaga is an arrogant prick. Breinna is a lazy 28 year old spoiled brat! My so called therapist gave hand outs for therapy. Thank god for Gwen! And… kaitlyn!

This place is a NIGHTMARE (especially for someone like me in a wheelchair). Every day starts at 6am (med call), then waiting on breakfast you have a prayer class. After breakfast is DBT class. The rest of the day is… music, coloring & outside time until lunch then arts & crafts again until dinner. Then it's bed time after 8pm med call. The food...what a joke...it's cold & the portions are for an 8 yr old not adults. It's glorified TV dinners. My daughter sent clothes (that i didn't get) & all my meds which they went through & took upon themselves to give me what they thought I needed not what my doctors say i need so I didn't get my heart, my cholesterol or my blood thinning meds.i have 7 blood clots in my lung. Plz find a different place for your loved one. This place has a 7 outta 10 relapse rate. I beg you to plz find a better place if you love your loved one.

Abusive staff. Safety hazards are everywhere. Pests are prevalent. Food is disgusting and usually cold. When I was admitted in late 2017, nearly everything was in disrepair. Paint was peeling off of the walls. There… were roaches everywhere.

I’ve often commented that I want to turn my journal of my time at this place into a book because of how outrageous and terrifying my experience was. I was here for two months when I was 17. Every bad thing that can be… said about a mental health facility can be said here. If you want to experience the closest thing to an insane asylum from the early 1900s try to get a spot at this place. I was strapped down constantly when I would show signs of distress which not only made things worse but gave me post traumatic stress and has hindered me in my attempt to receive mental health care since. The only “good” thing about this place was my therapist who genuinely had a heart of gold and noticed how corrupt this place was. I hope she has found a different place of work since I’ve left there as she was too good for that place.

i was here for 28 days when i was 14. overall i had a nice experience the staff was accommodating and friendly the patients were about what you can expect . my only actual problem with this facility was the food, it was… terrible. It was basically off brand tv dinners at every meal.

Heaven forbid if you have to call and confirm a fax number!!! The people that answer the phone talk to you like you are an idiot and have no respect whatsoever. The doctor that I spoke with, ultimately, was extremely… pleasant and seemed very sincere in her patient care.

I can see how this unit was actually designed to help people. Unfortunately, it is more like a jail than a hospital. The majority of staff members are actually wonderful.Ms Gwen, Coco, Ms Nancy, and nurses Carmen,… Sylvia, and one other very kind nurse (who's name I can't recall)and Ms Lorraine, were just blessings to me. However, there are a few staff members, including the nurse prac. Sarah Marshall were complete nightmares. And you're at their mercy. The facility, if run the way designed? Might be a decent place to recover. However, as it stands, the facility itself, is grossly under maintained, the food is not enough to fill anyone up, and that's if you're able to get past the hair, eyelashes etc in your food. All meat is the same, such as burgers, meatloaf etc, all the same soy patties. So plan to stay hungry. Also, plan to have to deal with lockdowns due to a few bad apples behaving like the children they are. Constant fighting. Blatant disdain for patients from some of the staff. A doctor that only sees you on intake unless you're literally dying. Social worker who's never there and won't see you.
