About Montana Chemical Dependency Ctr – Butte

Montana Chemical Dependency Ctr operates from 525 East Mercury Street in Butte. The site sits in Silver Bow County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. The practical catchment runs wider than the city limits, taking in people who travel in rather than finding care on their doorstep.

Hospital inpatient care, detox and residential treatment are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Detox and Rehab Services at Montana Chemical Dependency Ctr

Withdrawal management covers alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Someone starting in detox can move into residential care without changing provider or repeating an intake. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Residential here is short-term, which makes what follows discharge the more important question. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

Definitely could use some improvements but other than that my 30 days flew by. I learned a ton, got on some medication that helps, most of the staff were really great. Not a vacation they make you work and participate… but kinda why I personally needed

They saved my life, I went in there in drug induced psychosis, was suicidal, and lower than I had ever been in my life. Amber is great, all the tt s and the nurses are great. The counselors all care. And Chris busts his… ass. I was lucky and got a bed in a 3.1 in Livingston called swcdc and I now have 3 honest months. Could have not done it without these guys. They have never given up on me. If you give it a chance it will work. It is what you make it. Make a choice. Mind your own business, you get what you put in. Only cool was there was no peanut butter hah. Jk. Love you guys. Nick

So I went in to detox 16 days ago… amber dayhuff was absolutely horrible as a dr practitioner, she checked on me twice but after 4 days she pretty much just didn’t care at all about me or what I was going through… thank… god that Friday there was a older male DR there who saw what I was going through and immediately made med changes for me so I wasn’t suffering… then within 1 week she amber immediately wanted to move me to the woman’s wing and I was NOT ready yet.. I opted to take the chance of calling a taxi with no money and find a way to get home. Then my family kept my kids for two more days as I continued to go through wd, also the next day I went into ideal options and still had low levels of alcohol in my system which right there shows I wasn’t ready. Amber didn’t ask nor cared. On day 2 I started having severe hallucinations, and I did not sleep for two nights I was so scared I had to switch rooms 3-4times and one of the rooms was right next to the tech and nurse station where I could specifically hear them talking “crap” about me and what I was going through! Tracy was the nurse on staff! Very unprofessional. I will say this besides Tracy every other nurse was phenomenal… the whole place isn’t bad and I was able to safely detox which I am thankful for, with that being said…. I think they need to make some changes, I’m happy I chose to go home. Still sober and doing well!

All but two of the TT’s were amazing, and seemed very invested in patient recoveries, My counselor was both empathetic and challenging. And created a safe space for me to be honest with myself and her. I have been to… this treatment center three times now. Every time I have gotten a lot out of it, but this last time changed my life. Sometimes I think people confuse treatment with a vacation and a spa. But if you are willing to try and do the work necessary, they Will go so far for you. But of course, they are not gonna work harder than you’re willing to work. I can’t say enough about the Case Manager currently she went above and Beyond for me. She had a massive impact on my heart, My life and my recovery. My counselor Case Manager, and the Director all made me feel like a priority. And sometimes I struggle with myself a priority. It meant the world to me.

This place teaches alot of useful skills like anger management, meditation, and focuses alot on mental health not just about staying sober. Teaches alot of relationship skills ect, Staff are all really kind and the… rooms and showers are big and nice. It's alot better then I thought, but I wasn't forced into going, left early and didn't make it to graduate but been sober ever since the ninth and My relationships have improved let alone My physical health. I Absolutely Do recommend this place to anyone who wants to get sober and stay sober!! Thank you mcdc they saved my life! Hope I never need to go again but if I did I would go happily!

First off the web site says cell phones allowed,it's not your cell phone they allow the part they leave out is they provide the cell phone for 2, 15 min phone calls a week the appointed days depending on whose caseload… and counselor you're under, statistics show contact with sober loved ones tremendously helps the fight for sobriety the misleading word arrangements on cell phones hopefully are the only deception a patient may receive , I plan to update after treatment.

When I went to MCDC, I was younger and it was in the other building. I hated it when I went through and I was court ordered both times I did. Now that I have overcome my addictions through Gods grace, I can see where… the staff was coming from and also understand that they are human beings that grow as they help us to. I would say that for anyone that is serious about getting sober, this is a good place and willingness to do what is best for yourself rather than what you want to do is a big part of recovery. Trust the process, and know as long as your looking towards the light, which I have come to know is the Son of God, Jesus Christ, than all the hard things will be used to strengthen you and make you more resilient.

This place was awful they pretty much force you to go to sober living even if you have a place to live and a family outside waiting for you to come home

★★★★★
Chris Watts6 years ago

This place was exactly what I needed at that point in my life. I'm clean today and have been so ever since. I see a lot of negative reviews here, but part of recovery is taking ownership over your own actions and making… a decision to better your life. They can't do the hard work for you, only you can do that. Blaming others for your failures is fundamentally destructive. Anyway, it's a great place, it has a nurse that's the most beautiful person I've ever seen inside and out. Every possible way they could help they did, but in a way that would promote growth. If you want to change it'll work if you do what they say, and take it seriously. The techs were totally relatable and sympathetic. Every person from case managers to techs were awesome. The doctor was arrogant, and a total duche bag but that's a quick interaction. So go ahead and get behind yourself and push yourself there, you won't regret it. Besides you'll get to see if I'm right about the nurse. Lol

I walked in the doors of MCDC July 31, 2018....That was the HARDEST day of my life!! I was scared and very close minded to what I was about to experience. There were many different walks of life that came through those… doors before and after me. We all had one problem and one mutual goal, We wanted to get tools to stay sober. Its baffling how powerful the disease of addiction is.. Many girls did not make it to graduate and that is a hard truth. For me it was VERY difficult. However I wanted a different path in life, I want to be happy and make good healthy choices! Honestly if you are TRULY willing to do anything to change your life, you WILL do this program regardless of someone else ie a TT that you don't like or a counselor you don't see eye to eye with!!! All of us Addicts are worth something better than what we have been giving ourselves. This is NOT an easy program! You will get mad and want to give up...DONT!! You will be uncomfortable...EMBRACE IT!!! Change is hard but so worth it!!! I graduated August 29th, 2018 and you can to!!! "YOU ONLY FAIL IF YOU QUIT"

Horrible place, 30% of people complete the program and the staff are rude and unhelpful. After the first week the program repeats itself. You will watch YouTube inspiration vídeos and eat pre-release food thas been… sitting there forever. The staff take the personal problems out on patients especially Laura drug and alcohol counselor.
