Choosing to go to Newport Institute in Monticello, MN was one of the hardest — and best — decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was in a space where healing was not only possible but… expected. The staff truly care and go above and beyond to meet each person where they’re at, with compassion, structure, and an understanding that recovery isn't linear. What stood out to me the most was how personalized everything was. The treatment wasn’t cookie-cutter. My team actually listened — to my story, my needs, and even the things I wasn’t able to say yet. From individual therapy and group work to experiential therapies and life skills, every piece felt intentional and supportive. The environment itself also contributed so much to my healing. It’s peaceful, clean, and feels more like a safe home than a hospital. I also formed some of the most meaningful connections with peers — people who understood what I was going through and were walking beside me in the journey. Of course, healing doesn’t end when you leave, but Newport gave me tools, insight, and strength that I still carry with me. I walked out with more self-awareness, better coping strategies, and, most importantly, hope. If you or someone you love is struggling, I truly believe Newport can be a life-changing place!

Spent 3 weeks trying to get my kid the help he needed and crossing every I and Ts . Medical team is not a medical team for if you have a nose bleed you may have brain damage ...if your under weight you have an eating… disorder..With this being said I drove 6 hrs one way to get there and when upon arrival they do a physical and if you lost weight welp your out of there no service only to get rejected and to turn around and drive 6 hrs home ..Worst service I have ever had to deal with in my life .....save your time

I have battled anxiety, depression, and self-harm for several years, and finding Newport was a blessing. When I first came to Newport I was hesitant to talk about anything regarding my mental health but, the staff… helped me to open up and be honest about what I needed from them. At Newport, I was able to find new coping skills and practice using them with the help of staff. Newport plans out creative ways to help you along your healing journey. I really enjoyed my time at Newport working with the therapist and workout instructors that came in. Newport really cares about their patients and wants to see them succeed.
