About Peak View Behavioral Health – Colorado Springs

Peak View Behavioral Health is at 7353 Sisters Grove in Colorado Springs. Cimarron Hills is 5.4 miles away and Black Forest 8.9. Cimarron Hills, Colorado Springs, Black Forest and Air Force Academy all sit within 9 miles of the door. El Paso County is the relevant authority here, which matters for anyone using state-funded care.

What is available here is detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. SAMHSA holds the federal registration; the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration the state license. Medication-assisted treatment is part of the offer, the approach with the strongest evidence for opioid dependence. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Some contact can happen by video rather than in person. Veterans and serving personnel are among the groups served.

Peak View Behavioral Health – Colorado Springs Detox and Rehab Services

Services at Peak View Behavioral Health – Colorado Springs run to detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. Supervised withdrawal comes first, with the greatest danger in the opening seventy-two hours. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards.

Both conditions are treated in parallel, which is what the research supports. Approved medication is paired with counseling and regular review. Cost, travel and waiting time are all worth weighing together. Ask whether family can be involved and at what stage.

Told me my husband would be get out after his 72 hours but wanna keep him longer when he doesn't feel safe and the nurses and the person who transferred you over to them are so rude! I am trying to see why my husband… have to stay longer but no one can give me or him an answer but we been told that if they don't see an reason why to keep him which they didn't yesterday they decided to call me while I'm sleeping because I work nights and can't drive and I told them my husband is the driver in this relationship and I already low on my time off balance so they don't care if their patients will become homeless when they get out but I wouldn't return here at all this place needs to get shut down!!

Peak View does not even deserve a star at all. They assured us that they were very updated on Type ONE Diabetes and they were Not. The facility had his number over 500 for two days, some people might not know what that… does to the brain and they didn’t either. They really were not equipped to do the right thing. We, his parents made several call with hope they would return the call as promised and did not. They were very unprofessional and not good at communicating. We do not recommend this facility at all!!!!!

How incredibly unfortunate to write this. We came on behalf of my friend who was looking to assist his son. It didn't feel like they were doing all they could to assist him. Exasperated, we left to find assistance… elsewhere. I am truly saddened to witness such indifference when it comes to patient care.

Keyoki (I know I'm spelling that wrong, sorry). Was so amazing. She went above and beyond to help a difficult situation be so much better. Thank you for caring deeply and seeing me clearly, when I was unable to see… myself. Thank you for making a difference. 🥰

This place helped save my life about 8 years ago and I’m forever thankful for everything they did for me. They went above and beyond with the care they provided and had extra things for us to do to help us through our… hardest times. I’ll never forget the volunteer that came in with his golden retriever and play guitar and sang to us. Feeling normal in a time that doesn’t seem normal was a big thing they believe in. We were made seen and cared for and that really stood out to me. Thank you again!! 10/10

I volentarily admitted with my service dog and was told I could leave at any time and that my disabilities and service dog could be accommodated. THEY LIE THROUGH THEIR TEETH! EDIT: so they actually could’ve killed me… by double dosing my mood stabilizer which has to be increased in small amounts over weeks, not suddenly going from 150mg to 300mg. There’s a bunch of other issues I found in their discharge paperwork too so they’re gonna hear from my lawyer. First about my service dog, I was not allowed to have her leash on her the majority of the time, which was fine for my dog as she’s off leash trained but not every service dog is. I had to practically beg them to allow me to provide her with the basic necessities (food, water, and potty breaks) and I asked multiple times to brush her and got told different answers each time and was ultimately never allowed to. The other patients were more respectful about not petting her than the staff were and the staff would bend down and baby talk her often not even address me as a person which is very dehumanizing. I understand that you don’t see many service dogs in a mental hospital but as medical professionals you should know better. As far as it goes with me I expressed the horrible bed was causing me a lot of pain due to my spinal issues and they put a wedge and topper on it (why wasn’t that done in the first place when I explained my extensive spinal issues?) they straight up told me they wouldn’t be treating any of my physical pain whatsoever. I came in with a wrap on my ankle approved by my physical therapist from a fall a few days prior and they refused to ever let me have it. They didn’t even give me my glasses until a few hours before I left when I was checking my belongings and found them for myself. I asked them to search for a referral paper in my bag so I could call them and ask what time my appointment was and they said it wasn’t there (it was). This place is horrible and they don’t have their shit together. It takes forever to get processed in, they never even adjusted my meds, there’s no communication between staff. Due to my allergies to chicken and eggs they were feeding me far less than the other patients. During discharge they first gave discharge orders then cancelled them because they don’t know their own protocols. I’d asked specifically multiple times not to be touched and one of the doctors, CASE FILE IN HAND touched my leg twice which makes me violently uncomfortable due to sexual abuse and trauma. They do not respect you or treat you like human beings here, stay far away

I just got out of here 3/29/2026 & this place needs to shut down!! The way they treat patients is absolutely insane !! They treat us like we’re animals & one guy named ZAY, said “I’m just here for the paycheck” & our… other tech Heather decided to agree with him, she shrugged her shoulders & said “welll…” Ok next thing, IT IS NOT VOLUNTARY!!!! THATS HOW THEY GET YOU THROUGH TGE DOORS! Next, I was being sexualized for not wearing a bra when my “breast” FED MY CHILD!!! GROW UP MEN & WOMEN ARE NOT SEPARATED! THEY TAKE A MILLION YEARS TO DO LITERALLY ANYTHING ESPECIALLY GET MEDS CLEARED! The day I left. My roommate was having a panic attack & guess what the nurse did? Turned around & ignored her, so banged on the window to get her help!!! FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING NOTHING TO DO DOES NOT FOLLOW OR DO EVERYTHING ON THE SO CALLED SCHEDULE THEY TRY TO SHOVE LITHIUM DOWN EVERYONES THROAT THEY TURN LIGHTS ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT & LEAVE YOUR DOOR OPEN AFTER TELLS YOU THAT THEY ARE GONNA TRY TO CONTACT YOUR FAMIMY TO RESCHEDULE & THEN NEVER CALLED THEY BELITTLE YOU & it doesn’t matter what you say or do. There are only a handful of techs in the units that are actually amazing & so wonderful!! They are.. Keirstin, lexy,, Alyssa, Renz, Charles, Brittany, Cole, Dante, night shift nurse Rebecca! & Dr McMann, oh and Russ, Elis, Max & maybe a couple more… ANYWAYS MORAL OF STORY IS DO NOT COME HERE OR SEND YOUR CHILD HERE! THE NURSE SAID “the men here are creepy”!! FIRE THEM

They didn’t give me my medication for at least 2 days. I felt miserable and sick. It felt like torture. There are some good staff members but other staff members treat you like you are in juvenile detention. Go to cedar… springs. This was a while back but it still bothers me to this day and as far as I heard they still do this. People that come here come here for help. We are patients, NOT criminals. If you want to treat people like inmates apply for a job at the jail or juvenile detention center. Ripping someone off their meds all at once is a modern method of torture and should be treated as such.

Call themselves a behaivioral hospital but last night, after they accepted my son for inpatient, they recinded the offer 10 minutes later, because they "didnt read his whole packet". Now my son is in the ER having to… start the whole process again. What kind of place are you? You don't read files fully? you deny services to those who need it when you have beds available? Shame on you! Dr brown called me at midnight for the ambulance consent, and then you change your mind?

Horrible horrible place. Staff are horrible towards the kids. i went in February 8th 2025 and made my mental health wayyyy worse. Only reason why i am giving this place a one star is because the food wasn’t horrible.… But the place is so unclean. i found an ant infestation in a puzzle box i was trying to do which was nasty. Staff discriminated me and dismissed a girl that gave me ptsd and got me in trouble for me describing what was going on with my friends cause staff either wouldn’t believe me or wouldn’t listen and they put me in my room till gym time was over which was the only real time the youth had fun. My first ever crisis experience was this and i will always be traumatized from this place. Do NOT take ur kids here. I dont know about the adults but i know the adults would fight a LOT.

Kalia, Raven, and the one dude with the bmo tattoo (can’t remember his name) were the only people in there that truly seemed to care about what anyone was going through. Day shift in general was COMPLETELY different… from the night staff, who would openly talk about others patients in front of us, talking about what they are going through, making fun of them and saying they are glad they don’t have to deal with it anymore. This is not the kind of environment for that & no one is forcing them to work there. Everyone there is there for a reason and when you can hear the staff make fun of people it really deters the whole healing process. I’ve also watched one of the nurses try to work up patients, telling them they need to calm down when they are speaking normally & respectfully or threatening to not provide medication if you don’t answer the stupid “what’s your anxiety at, how’s your depression” etc, then proceed to hold a grudge against patients and restrict privelages that were no problem during the day. Even if you are polite and kind with them there is always this negative undertone in whatever they say to you. Kalia and a select few nurses were very helpful with my whole process but there seriously needs to be some changes in staff. Y’all are constantly receiving the same reviews regarding staff yet nothing seems to have changed. People aren’t coming here to be talked down on or to be denied our basic needs just because you are upset with a patient. We come here for support and to work through our issues & it’s truly disgusting that pretty much all the staff are obviously just there to be paid. If you don’t care about people, don’t work in a place like this. And if you are thinking about coming here for some help, do a little more research first as it’s definitely not a good fit for most.

This current review is for the rude young lady who took my call today. After asking specific questions about the upcoming release of my adult son after 12 months at this facility she was uncaring short and rude… responses, condescending and did not listen. If you are in the "care* industry specifically for mental health maybe try a little compassion with your communication. I'm grateful for one specific case nurse that recently started contacting me and that's why you didn't get 1 star. My son isn't a number. He's a human being. I'm his mother and am trying to ensure a successful and safe transition for him and the community. So thanks for your absolutely horrible style of communication. Shame. I expect better and deserved better as does my son, other residents and their families.

I'm not going to leave a long review, just gonna let the one star speak for itself. DO NOT GO HERE - you have other options. I have been around the block long enough to know that a diagnosis like Bipolar I or II or BPD… takes months of working with a highly skilled licensed psychiatrist that can not only observe you in person for hours, but also build a deep understanding of your history and what your daily interactions and activities look like. AND YET - Peak View has somehow broken the code!! Tell everyone! They can diagnosis you a serious mental illness using only a nurse and a one piece of paper with 20 questions on it. After that, they WILL prescribe medications that will have very serious implications to your physical health, cognitive abilities and most likely make decrease the quality of your mental well being. You don't have to take my word for it though, by all means, check yourself in - you will come out Bipolar I, Bipolar II or Borderline Personality AND you will have the medications that go along with them. Good luck!

Do not voluntarily go here nor send any of your loved ones here. I was here years ago in 2020. It took me this long to write a review because i couldn’t remember the name of the place. I was admitted as a minor by my… parents, none of us knowing how this place would be as it was our only option. I was severely addicted to drugs and in a mental health crisis with personal issues with a boyfriend at the time. Nurses completely violate hippa, one yelled at me across the entire unit for everyone to hear what i was in for. One nurse even starved me, i had an eating disorder that did not allow me to eat certain foods they offered they refused to help until my mom called and made them help. Patients never received the help they needed. Breakdowns were intolerable by any staff, i was put into a unit with all grown men, at the age of 16. This place needs to be shut down.

Doesn’t even deserve the 1 star. I along with my child’s therapist spent a month calling PV and preparing him to be enrolled into their outpatient program and once it came time for the assessment to enroll they decided… they wouldn’t take him. Which is probably a win for us. The staff answering phones and doing the assessment are the most condescending unprofessional people I’ve come in contact with in these types of places. When the parents need support and guidance, the last place you will get it is at PeakView.

Please go here if you have no other options because you are enough and deserve help, but if you have any other place to go, please go there. This facility breaks Hippa, they change the doses in your medication without… asking/telling you, and will get extremely upset with you if you are having a loud panic or anxiety attack you can't control. They will yell at you while your head is in the toilet. There was one nice nurse. Even Timberline Knolls was better than this.

My "stay" was back in 2019, but unless things have changed dramatically, I would never go to this place again (if I had a choice, which is most of the time not an option). I have been treated for bipolar disorder since… 1985, and this is the worst place I have ever been (and I'm not talking about just in the mental health care system - I'm talking about the worst place I have EVER been, including being homeless). The place was dark and dingy. Chronic patients were thrown in with those suffering acute problems. At every other psych facility I have ever been to, there have been two people per room. At Peak View, there were five women in my room. I went in wanting to harm myself. After half a day in this facility, that desire had grown exponentially. Chronic patients were thrown in with acute individuals. If you have been in "the system" very long, you understand the implications and problems with this type of situation. After my stay at Peak View, I think very seriously about being honest with anyone about reporting suicidal ideation. The implications of that are direer. People may wonder why I waited so long to post this review. The reasons are two-fold. First of all, I just wanted to put it behind me and move on. But that has been impossible. The second reason is to put people on notice (including the facility) - if this place hasn't changed dramatically, it needs to. Despite the promises of our esteemed governor, the state of Colorado's mental health services are less than abysmal. One report from 2024 placed Colorado as the forty-sixth WORST state in the US for mental health care, being updated to 41st in 2025. His mandate, which assigned a committee to improve care, did not honestly include any patient input at all. I applied to be on his committee, and the application asked for my political party affiliation. What does that have to do with mental health? And isn't input from those seeking care relevant? I think most people know the answer to that.

Chad Nelson10 months ago

My name is Chad Nelson, and I love everyone working for Peak View Behavioral Health and all the patients living and healing from mental health concerns. I stayed in inpatient care for one week while learning about my… mental health diagnosis, which is schizoaffective disorder, bipolar, post-traumatic stress, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, and mood problems. The nurses, doctors, technicians, fellow patients, and all other employees helped me to discover how to cope with my mental health disorders. Group therapy sessions were instrumental in helping me learn how to behave appropriately in society. God and the Angels in Heaven are guiding me and leading me to make good choices. Continually making good choices will help me to live for eternity in God’s love. Without God’s love, none of this is possible. If someone makes evil choices, that person will live in eternal torment in hell. My greatest fear is not feeling the enormous power of God’s love, which is infinite. The pain, suffering, torture, torment, neglect, and abuse of the devil and all the demons in hell are overwhelming and will lead people on a path to nowhere. God’s love is eternal, although everyone on Earth has the power to make their own choices in life. My advice is to make choices that lead to God’s everlasting love continually. God and the Angels in Heaven will guide people who have complete trust and faith in God. Everyone must make life choices, and this Earthly power is given to each person by God. Do not abuse your personal God-given power; instead, develop your God-given gifts. There is one gift for which I want to thank God. God took the artistic gift from my evil and disgusting brother, Greg, and He gave it to me. I will use this Earthly power for good, helping people see how to earn an honest living by using God-given gifts, while also exposing the evil and vile thoughts and actions that every human being on Earth is capable of. Thank you, God, for saving my soul, and thank you to everyone working and living at Peak View Behavioral Health for helping me understand my mental health conditions.

I dont know where all the bad reviews are coming from here. Maybe they stayed in a different unit than I did as there are several but my own experience was great. The nurse I first had ,I believe her name was Sarah V… was exceptional, she made me feel like I was her only priority. The other staff members were also great and I never wanted for anything. I absolutely recommend this place for recovery from addiction.

Everything was great except for Alyssa. She made the stay horrible! I can’t believe she is allowed to work with mental health patients.
