Recovia Reviews and Ratings
Recovia in Tucson can be understood partly through its license and accreditation, and partly through what patients say. Read their reviews here, and leave one if you have been in treatment at the facility.
I was referred here by my doctor for anxiety and depression, I’ve been going for about a month and it’s been an amazing experience! The staff is very nice and welcoming and really makes you feel like you belong. Ive… already referred multiple people here!
I asked my PCP for someone to help me cope with autistic burnout and senior housing. He referred me to Recovia. The intake interview seemed to go well enough but when I saw my intake notes I was horrified. No mention… was made of autism or social services needs. Instead, the intake notes listed several misdiagnoses I'd received in the past and disclosed during the interview. I immediately contacted Recovia through their website to mention this issue and withdraw my consent for my records to be shared with my PCP, insurance provider, or any other third party. I have not received a reply. This morning I called their Medical Records number and no one was available to take my call. The false information in my intake notes could be very damaging to my reputation and future access to care. They should have told me straight up that they weren't a good fit for me. Instead they wasted my time and theirs by going thru a lengthy interview only to omit valid information and record falsehoods. They tried to enroll me in a very expensive outpatient program for depression even though my presenting complaint was autistic burnout and risk of homelessness. Now I have to pay copays for that intake appointment that put lies about me on my record. If you suffer from depression, addiction, or chronic pain, and you have appropriate insurance or can afford their program, REcovia may be a good fit for you. If your problem is anything else, don't waste your time or theirs and don't risk false information becomming a permanent part of your medical records.
Absolutely horrible experience. I went in to Recovia to establish care with a therapist and begin mental health counseling. They offered two different programs: Recovia, and ProjectMe. I was highly encouraged and… recommended to try out the Recovia program, so I tried to approach it with an open mind. I've never done therapy before so I was open to seeing how the hell physical therapy could benefit me even though I'm not injured or going through a recovery process. I finish my PT, medical and behavioral assessments. I tell them that honestly 12 hours a week is a huge commitment for the Recovia program since I work full time, and that the ProjectMe program seems for in alignment with my needs and schedule (given that it's 1hr/week). They said they would call me back tomorrow with more information...that was a month ago... I called back last week to see what the hold up was, they said I was not interested in their program so they didn't follow up. I reemphasized that I could not commit to a 12hr/week program, and I that I work in a physical therapy department as a restorative tech and don't see how PT could benefit me when the physical therapist said "I need to sleep more and I'll be better". This whole experience felt like an insurance scam to upsell their clients on additional services they DO NOT need. And if you express this to them, you're basically useless to them since they cannot bill your insurance for their "Recovia" full package. I am very thankful I was not in any sort of crisis mode, if I was this company would have absolutely failed me even harder.
Yeri Kil will not listen nor follow medical restrictions. She lacks communication and personable treatment. Go anywhere else.
It's been awhile since I have been affiliated with Recovia. I honestly loved going there for there Out-patient care. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. I enjoyed the environment, the groups, the Nurse… practitioner's, the Behavioral health specialist, the educational material/activities and the Physical therapy. I wasn't too fond of their Fluorescent lighting, but I am sensitive to bright lights and it seems to activate anxiety. I am giving this rating because I think there is a hole, flaw in the system. After I completed the 6 weeks of Out-patient treatment with flying colors, they have a us pick a length of time to do Supportive Care that follows. I was unfortunate to have a life change in my personal life that made it extremely difficult to go back to Recovia because I got bed bugs back to back which I disclosed to them and they would not let me continue going back until the bugs were gone, which is understandable and I respected that. I had a friend who invited me to go out of town which I chose to go during that period of time and when I was on my way back to Tucson I called Recovia to check in, which to find out that they were going to close me out. I was super shocked and broken hearted. I was super confused to why I am getting closed out. The lady said that I didn't call them enough to keep in contact with them. Which I am disagreement with because I did call them. But when it came to reaching someone no one picked up. That is where the "Hole" /"Flaw" in the system was/is. I called they didn't answer, but when they called me I couldn't answer so we were playing phone tag. Why punish someone who is making an effort on their own mental health, Why ABANDON someone who cares deeply about their mental health and attending? I FELT ABANDONED BY RECOVIA- big time. They got to know me real well and saw my passion, dedication and great effort on my mental health. To be left to nothing-no support from them because of a lack of connecting on both sides. I really think they need to have a better way to "Follow-Through" with the Whole Goal of what they stand for! "To treat the Whole person in a mind-body approach" I also struggle with ADHD and during the time I went there was not being treated for that so they didn't take that in consideration either when making their decision to "Close me out", "Drop me" and "Abandon Me". I did my very best to do everything I could do with the tools I had to continue going there. I advocated for myself and asked if there was anything I could do and they said no. They did say I could go back, but I would have to do Active Care all over again. How does that help me from where I was at currently? I completed Active Care with flying colors. Why do I have to do it again? I felt like it was punishment. How is that going to help me be better at reaching you by phone? It doesn't! The hole is not having a better option for what happened. Why didn't Recovia get punished for not being available when I called in? Why is it one-sided? I think they needed to do better by helping me have different options on reaching them. I found out later that you can email them. I didn't know you could do that while I was attending. Overall, Active Care is great and I recommend. I would warn people to be careful and make sure you call, email or whatever other contacting options they have and make sure you use that. I have been involved in other agencies since and I am continuing to work towards my "Healing Journey" and this is just one of those "Radical Acceptance" moments and a bump in the road that I have had to "Flow" through and use as a learning experience. I will always remember everyone who helped me on my "Healing Journey" and I thank you for the support I got while in Active Care. I am saddened that Supportive Care didn't work out, that did hurt a lot and it brought up the Abandonment wound in me. I have worked my way through that and I am still moving forward. Thank you to everyone who helped with my care at Recovia. It was unfortunate, but It didn't beat me! I am stronger then ever now!
This excellent program of support for those seeking a watershed turning point in their struggle coping with persistent pain, addiction or depression, is highly effective. The entire staff are very good and encouraging.… I couldn't be more thankful for my experience with them.
This was a game changer for me. The people who I worked with were so easy to talk with. I now feel I can deal with my feelings better. Also I met others in my journey of life that we helped each other see how we all… have challenges. Having the "tools " will make better decisions in life.
Recovia saved my life. I was not doing okay and had no hope for things. Now that I am finished I have the confidence that I am capable to live life now comfortably with my coping skills and techniques that I learned… here.
The marketing of Recovia touts treatment for "anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, or negative life events." However, upon intake, I was informed that they do not do any trauma work/mental health deep dives and that any… attempts to discuss these topics will be redirected. I acknowledge that not all facilities are equipped to address trauma and work with high-risk people. I'm sure that many people find what they're looking for at Recovia. I, however, do ask that Recovia reconsider their advertising/marketing and intake process to avoid wasting the time and resources of vulnerable people
Hands down the best therapy/physical therapy. it’s been about a month since my last appointment and I feel like a different person, since my first appointment all of the staff is very nice, it doesn’t feel like normal… therapy. I would recommend to anyone going through mental health issues or body pain, I went in for both and my back now only hurts sometimes and I now have the skills to fix it and when I’m feeling down in the dumps I also have the skills to help with that as well, if your having any second thoughts about recovia just go for it I promise it’s worth it.
Has been a very good experience for me.
Thanks to everyone at Recovia! Happy birthday Sam! Great people, great vibes. Lots of helpful information. Brought me back to life.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🦸🏾♂️
So glad I found this place. I was in a tough spot and Recovia helped me tremendously. Their program consists of many different beneficial outpatient sessions including physical therapy, integrated group therapy, one on… one counseling, and medical/medication treatment. The staff there are all awesome and professional. They really care about your well being and give you the tools you need to heal and grow. After completing the 6 week program, I signed up for the aftercare that was offered. They accept most insurance plans, so no issues there. Looking forward to continuing my journey with my new "Family" at Recovia. If you're struggling with anything...depression, chronic pain, substance abuse, Recovia is Highly recommend!
My experience with Recovia was excellent. I have had physical therapy in the past, but have never had any behavioral therapy. Truthfully, I never felt that I needed that type of therapy, but boy was I wrong. I learned… very effective coping skills to deal with my overwhelming stress and pain. The staff at Recovia all have positive, welcoming attitudes and the stress-free environment helped me learn how to help myself. I now am experiencing much less pain in my body and I know how to cope with stress on a daily basis. I highly recommend the Recovia program.
Fantastic friendly fun staff at the Grant Rd location! Recovia uses a physical therapy, exercise, diaphragmatic breathing, diet education, and mental health holistic approach. They even have a patient advocate, with an… open door policy, to help ensure a remarkable Recovia experience!
Excellent Program with amazing staff. Would highly recommend.
Recovia has changed my life. They have taught me skills that I didn’t know before and I’m able to utilize them in my daily life. The staff at the grant location in Tucson are all so sweet. I would definitely recommend… to family and friends. Thank you Recovia for changing my way of thinking!
Recovia is a great place. The program is very good and has helped me while in active care. I can't wait to continue in supportive care.
The program isn’t what most people think it is going in making the first couple weeks challenging. However for those who power through it pays off exponentially. When you’re dialed back to fewer and fewer sessions… you’ll actually miss it and want more. The program is a commitment with a complete course of around 6 months yet the primary is only about 6 weeks. Going from 3 days a week to once or twice every other week till finally once a month. Don’t let that discourage you and your journey of self help and healing, not only is my physical health better than it has been in decades due to the Personal Training ( the PT specialists are simply amazing, great people and knowledgeable in their craft), I’m also much better off with my mental health than before this process. It’s even improved the family through osmosis as it were, my kids have seen the improvement and joined in with several of the adjustments making this experience even better. This is by no means a “ cure “ for your ailments yet an improved quality of life, and I’ll take that all day long! I mean I’m not a small man and now I’m doing Tai-Chi and light Yoga along with a plethora of exercises that are keeping my physical issues to a minimum along with vastly improving my mental health on a daily basis. My family life has changed drastically and we’ve reconnected in ways. It’s can’t thank the staff at Recovia enough. I’ve connected with several of the councilors who’ve helped me in countless ways, truly amazing, I will miss them when I’m done and hope them the best. This has been my experience anyway and even though it’s true it’s not for everyone I can’t recommend this program enough. I’ve recommended this to my own children and other family members. It’s honestly been a life changing experience and that’s EXACTLY what I needed. I still have those days but there fewer and farther between not to mention my mobility and physical activity is at an all time high ( motion is lotion). Hopefully this review helps even one person with their decision. Thank you ever so much Recovia and ALL its staff members.
I balked at therapy for years, thinking it couldn’t help me. My physician pressed me to try Recovia, and I finally relented. What an experience! The program itself takes a holistic approach—yes, it requires a heavy time… and energy commitment, but the goal is “whole recovery”: mental, emotional, dietary/health, and physical therapy. The changes in my life, mind, and body has been incredible. I realize that all therapy depends primarily on the patient’s dedication and commitment to apply the principles and exercises, but I will never regret giving myself to Recovia’s program.
Recovia is a life saver! The staff are so friendly and caring. I learned many life skills. You can't go wrong when you choose Recovia!
Such a wonderful team @ Grand Road location! I learned so much about my selfcare!! Also PT, mediation/breathing was such a huge part of my recovery. Check it out.. you will really enjoy having “YOUR” time with this very… special supportive professionals! I would highly recommend this program!
BEST PLACE FOR MENTAL HEALTH I'VE FOUND IN OVER 20 YEARS!!!
Professional, personal, supportive, safe, private, and kind.
Top notch staff, therapy experience. I have been there to work through grief and loss along with anxiety and depression issues. I am blessed to have discovered this wonderful program and can report that I am well on my… way to better dealing with what life has put before me. Cannot recommend this program more highly!
