Roudebush VA Medical Center – Indianapolis Detox and Rehab Services
Roudebush VA Medical Center – Indianapolis carries a listing for residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
Addiction and mental health are worked on at the same time here. Ask what a typical week involves before committing, since the schedule determines whether the program is workable alongside work or family.

You will find this provider at 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202. The city lies within Marion County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. It is worth calling first to confirm access, parking and the shape of a first visit. Remote appointments may be possible where travel is a barrier. Admissions lines are frequently busiest early in the week, which is worth knowing if the first attempt fails.

I went to the ER for a dental infection. They did not hook me up to an IV and make me lay down. They asked what I needed and even left the door open so I didnt feel ignored. 90 minutes later, I was outside taking meds… for my infection and waiting for my ride. I have never been happier. Thank you so much! I am waiting for emergecy dental, but I know I will be okay until then.
Been several times for testing and have always had wonderful service
I hate to give them a zero because of one person however when that one person is your provider and they are in charge of getting MRI's sent in, X-rays, and etc and fail to do their jobs it's rather annoying. I am very… patient but when asking for results of a test result that should be more elaborated on and the provider only says it's negative, feels kind of like lack of care. I was hoping that was really just a bad a day but low and behold here we are almost two months later still waiting for her to put in an MRI scan. To top it off still waiting for a CPAP request that was sent to her to still be approved. Thankfully I am able to see a different provider but it's not till almost 3 months down the road and now I am stuck waiting to be transferred and probably will start the whole process of request over again due to lack of care from Dr. Gudeman. Everybody else at the hospital deserves a 5 star which makes me sad that I can't just rate the Dr. Gudeman and her performance.
Modern medical center offering full service health care for veterans of the US Armed Forces.
I was placed under Community Care after my PCM took an unexpected early retirement. Good news is, I was referred to my local civilian PCM. I had a tooth pulled in February after biting down on a popcorn kernel and… cracking it in half. I used my dental insurance and paid out of pocket for that because it was an emergency. I then went in for an implant consultation and asked if they work with the VA and they said they do but I would have to get the referral. I have been calling the CC office for the last week and wait on hold until it comes on and says the call volume is too high and they can’t accept my call. The VA needs an overhaul.
I live over an hour away from the VA. It is very difficult to get through by telephone to these people. Overall, communication is very difficult with these folks. The mental health facility falls short in helping vets… live normal lives. Never again will I trust this facility with my mental health needs.
I have woke each day since 2013 prepared to battle. I have never had but a few good moments with my care at the VA. I have had 10 primary physicians in this time. Last year, I actually began to make some improvements… with my needs and addressing ailments. I had surgery with not physical therapy at all. I should mention I finally got one of my knee replaced and waited for July til September for my physical therapy. Once,I was given an appointment the physical therapist released me on the initial session for I out performed on the evaluation. I am convinced that the VA do not treat every patient the same and they will have a hard time convincing me that I am speaking the truth. I get angry every morning when I wake up knowing that until I finally get a primary, they will have fun with my prescriptions, since they are all expired. This new VA app restricts us to view our medical records. The images we used to be able to view is no longer accessible. I use to love the dates that we were able to pull up old images and reports. I do like to compare my xrays to past xrays. I think all the new changes has destroyed any hope I had of getting relief from my ailments.
Most of the nurses have been good to my dad, but he had a nurse that was very rough and just didn’t care. By far the noisiest hospital I have ever been too. The staff is so loud outside of the rooms, just not very… considerate of people needing rest. The hospital seems Very unorganized. Had a procedure scheduled I took off work to be there and they postponed it two days no explanation. They just seem to not know what they are doing here. I’ve never heard doors open and close so much at a hospital.
Same day surgery is amazing. I just had my surgery yesterday and every single person on my surgical team was absolutely amazing. They made the process much less scary and made sure I had everything I needed to be… comfortable.
Check in at emergency then they take in to the back of the hospital, put you in a room and forget you. I was there for 3 hours in that room and never saw anyone. I went looking for someone and could not find anyone.… Tried call button and no one came. I got dressed and left. Passed out once while walking to the parking lot. Some hospital, they close at 4:30.
Horrible experience, Morgan in sleep dept is an arrogant bot, who goes above and beyond to keep you from getting help in the sleep dept, had to call patient advocate to get things squared away from his negligence, took… 3 tries to set up appointment to pick up my sleep machine, with a ride, due to a supervisor not from this state to do organs job for him, bee bop boop
This facility provides excellent care and cares about their veterans. Shout out to the sleep study dept. Thank you for all you do
The people I encounter at this hospital are one of two types. They are either lazy and it is all about them & no one else. Or they are self-righteous, complacent, disenchanted, and not to be bothered. Every once in a… while, I encounter someone that actually wants to be there & enjoys their job and takes their oath, seriously. But for the most part, those people are only there for their paycheck and the paid vacation they get for having a great job. They aren’t interested in serving those who have served their nation, and something has changed since Covid . Everything in government has moved to a whole new different level of negative attitude. I don’t think anyone goes into the medical industry in the 21st century any longer to serve others. They enter the medical industry to serve themselves… Only. The patient has to chase their appointments, they have to chase for proper medical diagnosis, they have to chase everything to get healthier and to heal because no one wants to really make veterans healthier or heal them. I truly believe the VA and people who work at the VA are trying to kill us veterans! Medical personnel seem to hate veterans. Why would you want to work at the VA and you hate the people you serve? It makes absolutely no sense. It is the most embarrassing thing I have ever observed about the American culture in the 21st-century. We have lost our way as a nation, and we only have Democrats to thank.
My husband tries not to go here but has to. Every time he needs something it’s like a week long process. Can’t do basic tests in ER, appts 3 months out, and no eye contact. Being military you want people taking care of… you that at least look at you and can perform basic tests. Not to mention the amount of teams he has been through. As a nurse with some knowledge be glad I am not with him because I would rip you all a new one. You should be ashamed of yourselves treating people like this, nevermind veterans! I will write a review about your terrible services every single day if I need to. Someone needs to over sight this facility and its processes. Ridiculousness.
Google has a hard time counting available turns. It often says "take 2d exit " when it should be first exit. And vice versa. Usually it's good for 3d exit
I would like to thank Jesus first of all & all your wonderful medical staff & give all the staff a big thank you all was very kind & helped me so much & big thank you to dr pham & dr Jessi for helping me on my recovery… & if I could I would give a 15 star rating
I had a really good experience at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center ER. I was seen in under 10 minutes after walking in and hooked up to an EKG about 5 minutes later, which honestly helped calm my nerves right… away. Nurses Jenny Myers and Jenna Nicoletti, along with Dr. William Spanenberg, were amazing. They took the time to really talk with me about what I was feeling, asked the right questions, and kept me informed the entire time about what was going on. It never felt rushed or dismissive. We even laughed a bit, which made a stressful situation feel a lot more human. The only thing I wish was different is the situation that brought us together. Outside of that, they were awesome, and I’m genuinely grateful for the care they gave me.
Didn't think about coming here to write a review... and unfortunately I have nothing good to say about the VA. This is precisely because of all the bureaucratic nonsense including their attempts to go digital and use… computers et cetera. The lab and routine procedures like knee replacements are great procedures with good outcomes. They are also good at geriatric medicine... but anything preventative or requiring some real healing knowledge will not be found here. As a 20 retired veteran this place is ridiculous. Have had nothing but problems getting in there, I was assigned to purple clinic and recently over the last year and 1/2 had 2 appointments to find primary care doctor and they canceled both of them for whatever reason?! It's OK though because I was previously assigned to Purple Clinic and the primary care doctor I had was like a zombie. She didn't speak English very well and didn't care. Every time I go in that clinic 90% of the chairs are open but there's somehow super busy? And why do they hire the most incompetent people to greet you? I won't apologize, we deserve better. There are some wonderful people in there who mean well and they try to make up for the rest... it seems like everybody is willing to make excuses for the people come in in there and getting paid but accomplishing little to nothing. I've made complaints in there that have only fallen on deaf ears! They need to get rid of all digital technology and computer access completely! you should not require patients to have a computer with a compatible operating system, and WI fi access in order to come in and make an appointment. Go back to the old days with paper records... used to work wonderfully! A nurse should be able to take care of most of the stuff in the ER including stitches like the old days, but now nurses have to go through a lot more school and are less than 25% as capable as nurses back in the 90s and 80s. Their ridiculous system of having somebody call you and require you to answer when they call in order to have some sort of an appointment put up which by the way was canceled on me anyway twice because they are so incredibly incompetent!!
Been to many VA’s over the years. This VA is easily the worst. Doctors don’t care, you’ll have an appointment you take work off for, you’ll get to the clinic, and they’ll tell you it’s been rescheduled for 3 months from… now. No notice. Once you do finally get in to see the doctor they’ll tell you just to take ibuprofen instead of offering to fix anything. I honestly think this VA just wants Vets to die so that they have less people to take care of. Very sad how this VA treats veterans.
The Veteran’s Hospitals get a bad name and that’s not true! People MUST have patience. Like any day, we can have a good day or bad one. I have to say that good days outweigh the bad ones when we have dealt with… Roudebush VA Hospital. Roudebush is a “blessing” to all of us!!!
All of my health care comes from the VA. very satisfied with it. Good quality health care
