Sanctuary House LLC – Wilkes Barre Detox and Rehab Services
The provision listed at Sanctuary House LLC – Wilkes Barre is residential treatment. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.
The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. Accounts from family members are worth reading too, since they often describe communication and visiting in more detail.
I was a client here. The concept of what they are “attempting” to do here is wonderful. A “fee free”, “safe environment” with stable housing that lets you get ahead with your finances and truly focus on yourself. Sounds… amazing right? Well this place is VERY far from it. Aside from about three staff members that do not talk down to you like a pig, everything about this place and everyone that works here is egregious. Imagine, you are fresh outta rehab with roughly 30 days sober. You are barely feeling like yourself at all, and you show up at the Casey House. Grateful to be free, clean and back into the real world. Well that dissipates faster than water boiling in a 1,000*F pan. The large majority of the staff members here and the owner have a serious god complex. They repeatedly talk down to you, micro manage everything that you do, because you are unintelligent and have ZERO life skills of course, impose very strict moment restrictions on you, have an EXTREMELY DITRY living space and inadequate cleaning supplies. I am talking bedbugs, rampant mice, poor access to clean mopping equipment(there is no clean mops), a very elderly man that has no clinical degree whatsoever making the final decision on EVERYTHING that has anything to do with you, this man is also extremely rude and far superior to you in every way possible and will tell you so. Imagine having to pay them to wash your own clothes, imagine that. You just got outta rehab, and if you are like me have no money whatsoever, are emotionally fragile and now are quite literally required to borrow quarters from the fore-said elderly man just to wash your garments. Trust me you have to pay this back, Joe will hound you for the money, because you know our insurance does not pay them enough as it is. You want to go to an AA or NA meeting? You want to go to mass, church or a mosque? Do NOT come here. That is not allowed, trust me. There is no light at the end of the tunnel here. I could explain so much more, but I will wait. This is not over. If you are reading this for a loved one currently on treatment, TELL THEM TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE.
Administrative staff gets off on making individuals there both staff and clients to feel as uncomfortable as possible. Joe B has 0 empathy towards the individuals they treat, constantly belittling individuals, and… causing unnecessary headache on both staff and clients as well. The owner is big on peace education program when he is the most negative man you”ll ever met. Has told clients that they are better off dead and that they are lucky to be in his facility. Would not recommend if you are actually trying to better your life and also get/remain sober. Lots of use going on in the house without any consequences happening 75% of the time.
The worst halfywayhouse I've ever been to. They have clients working in the facility breaking confidentiality to get you thrown out if they don't like you. The place is filthy. The bedding was horrible, they also keep… you locked in there until you find employment,The owner is there constantly harassing you,if he doesn't like you,he will come up with something or make you feel so bad. You will want to leave. There is mice. They also break confidentiality by listening in when you speak to doctors the owner sits in the same rooms or has a spy get information about how you feel if you say anything bad your throwe out.DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. They don't care.
2nd time around . Leah , Jen K , Sarah and Dave , absolutely , awesome ! Then there's , Angie , who since last year love's to call me by Government name ! All programming is , good , . John , that , Old Geezer is very… wise , listen to him . Angie on the other hand lol , don't piss her off ! Buzz Cut , Mark , Sequin , Joe , I'm gonna pay for this one and I stop in to say " Hello " , I don't remember her name ! Sweet woman - They all want you to succeed as they're all in , Recovery
James Casey is a good man and cares about people, the program is what you make of it. At first I had a rough impression of Mr Casey and the program but as I got to know him I could genuinely see he cares about everyone.… I am a very good judge of character so there is nothing anyone could tell me to change my impression of the people that are here for us. Very grateful to be here and have the opportunity to rebuild my life with a stable foundation. I have seen people in other reviews talk negative about the state of cleanliness here, the place is clean it is just a older building and some may not be used to that.
I'm grateful to be a resident here they treated me with respect and dignity and helped me threw a tuff crisis
I have been pleased with the casey house so far. They seem to be involved with the residents and actually care about their success. Every worker I've seen so far has been pleasant and helpful which is a lot better than… some of the place I've seen. Good work casey house. Thank you
Well it's a bunch of grown men with addiction problems! The cleanliness of the place is out right horrible! The amount of mice in the place is not safe! The staff is really good once you get to know them. It's all about… the insurance money no matter how you look at it!
Disgusting all about the insurance money my brother and I both went there this place is disgusting how is the State licensing this place? I would love to know but he gets away with it well anyway he'll be dead soon and… the weirdo kids can take over have a great trip if you go there
This is the real RobertVukovichJr... I recently discovered someone posted a very poor review under my name... I wish to set the record straight.. My experience at the Casey House was a very positive and productive.. I… was glad not to be bombarded with AA,because I am very skeptical that it works... I enjoyed the small groups and meditation... It is not a bad place.
Absolutely disgusting. the place is infested with mice and bed bugs. The worst part about the whole thing is if you go to staff about it, they do nothing to fix the problem they just tell you to keep quiet about it and… threaten to kick people out if anything is said about the problem. The place should be shut down until they clean it up. Other than that it's not a bad place to get your feet back on the ground.
Riddled with drugs, dirty, avoid at all costs.
This place ain't no vacation home..its not meant for that. This is a great place to be able to work on yourself mentally and physically. The staff are great and down to earth. The counselors are excellent with one on… one meetings My counselor is currently working with me and helping realize things about my self that I would have never realized before hand. This is a great place to go after a rehab. I think you will have a much better idea of staying sober if you come to the Casey house after a rehab. Remember a half way house is not a rehab its a place to get your mind straight so you have 3 weeks to do that (which is like a black out period all together you can have up to a 90 day stay and more if you ask for an extension) also a great place to get your health better if you use this place the way its meant to be you can have a good start in life before you go out in the real world. Someone reviewed that there's no meetings which is true but there are groups and as soon as you finish your work group you can go out for meetings. This is a great 2nd step to take for your recovery whether it be reconnecting with family and clean friends or saving money or even get your teeth fixed. Mr.Casey is a great man who will do things for you like if you needed an id he would pay out a pocket for yah he really cares about recovery in a whole and I'm grateful I found this place
When everything was gone and i had nobody left ....no where to call home... I spent 90+ days working on my life skills and how to maintain a sober and profitable existence. I am truly thankful for this place. I don't… know any other facility's like this one!
