Definitely a good place to get real help and be heard as a person not just as a name and number to increase profits. Compassionate care from all the employees (the nurse is the absolute best) SMC is the best and have… some of the best people working there.

I went to this clinic for about 4 months. I’m on 50mg. I did not get the help I needed to set up transportation first of all. I’ve been on methadone since 2018 and they tried keeping me on it when I wanted to ween. But… the worst part is they only drug tested ONE (1) time in 4 months. I was not able to get privileges by them drug testing once every 4 months when you need 3 clean drug tests to get privileges. This clinic also has a nurse that has a horrible attitude. She keeps her knees up on the desk, keeps her hoodie on & acts like she hates her job. She has tattoos, gagged ears, skinny & always a grumpy look….youll know right when you see her. Her energy & vibe are very negative. This place is NOT the place to get clean!!!!! I had a horrible experience💯

What makes a great clilic is staff or the workers who stand up and protect there patients although the current conditions at this clinic seem to need a change. This clinic took a friend in on a grant and promised him he… would be taken care of only for the same manager to come back a few weeks later and cancel the patients services it was detrimental to the freind of mine. Very disappointed with this place with that said

Overall my experience has been positive at SMC. The Dr. is easy to talk to and not judgemental. I like that he isn't one of those cheesy typical counselors asking obvious questions. He's smart and understands addiction.… The other gentleman who's usually there always welcomes every patient with a warm "good morning!" You can tell he cares a lot about the clinic and the people they help. Honestly I'm not sure if he is the manager or a doctor. The blonde nurse is always so kind and genuine, she's a huge asset to this clinic. I wish there were more like her. There was a nurse that used to work only on Saturdays usually a few months ago. She was a little older than the others but she had a very comforting beautiful smile. Very good with people I was hoping she would come back. A big plus id I've never had to wait longer than 5 or 10 min, usually there's no wait at all I'm in and out. I wish they had longer hours and were open later than 11 am and 9am on Saturdays. If you don't make it in the morning by closing time you are out of luck til the next day. Other places are open in the afternoon and I have heard there is a 24 hour one too. Ultimately I would recommend this clinic it's very clean, quick and the staff I mentioned will provide information to anyone in need and want to help.

So far so good, just went for the 1st time, due to the fact that Im having to Guest-Dose while visiting from Chicagoland (IL). Guest dose pricing: ($40-first day, $20 ea. following day) Also, the atmosphere, although… quite a very small/cozy space compared to what I'm used to, had one of actual genuine care and concern - compared to so many of the "money-grabs" I've been accustomed to over the years back home (Chicago & surrounding suburbs)! 💚🖤❤️‍🩹

I have been going to this clinic since my daughter was 28 days old, she is now almost 5 years old. I was a patient at one of the larger clinics previously, and without any warning after just giving birth to my little… girl my counselor told me “it wasnt a good fit”, and I had 3 days to find a new clinic or be left without a place to dose. I called numerous places that could not help me until days after I would need to dose. I cannot say how blessed I felt when I called SMC and Richard (who was the manager at the time and is now retired) answered and got me in the next morning. I thought getting methadone was all the help I needed until I continued to have issues in life and realized methadone is just the help for physical symptoms of opioid addiction. The counselors at SMC helped me see that there is another side to recovery that has nothing to do with medication….therapy, learning to work through problems, learning to feel again after years of numbing myself with opiates. After 7 years of being on methadone I had resigned myself to believing I would always need to be on it. But, after a ton of support from my counselors at SMC, the nurses, and close family/friends, I finally realized I could get off methadone with their help. I was at 150mgs when I transferred to SMC. I made the decision about 6 months ago to start tapering. They allowed me to do this at my own pace, and to some it may not sound like much, but I went from that 150 to now being at 34mgs. It has not been easy, but having my previous counselor, Lisa (who is no longer there but has moved on to bigger and better things Im sure) and now having my counselor, Deonn who is hands down the best, and never fails to boost my spirits no matter how rough of a day Im having, I am confident I will get to 0. I have to bring my daughter with me most days, and she LOVES it. She is always greeted with lots of love and attention by all 3 counselors, Deonn, Kendra and Tripp and she actually looks forward to going. She even calls my counselor “Uncle De-wan” lol. And honestly, its fitting because they all feel like family. After those first 7 years of being on methadone before SMC I have quite a bit of experience going to other clinics. Every other place Ive been I was just a number. It was obvious. But at SMC they actually care…from your counselor to the other counselors to the nurses and the Drs./nurse practitioners, you will always know you have support. And in recovery, more than anything else, you need support. If youre considering getting on MAT whether it be methadone or suboxone or another option, SMC is the best place to be. If youre already on MAT and considerate transferring, SMC is the place to be. They take some insurances including a couple AHCCCS plans or $60 a week. They best decision Ive ever made for my recovery was coming to SMC.

I went to this clinic a few years ago and was sober for 4 years. I relapsed in 2020, it was a hell of a year. I came back to SMC recovery in December 2021 and they saved my life. They welcomed me with open arms and… really made me feel safe. There are more counselors now (there was only 1 before, so 3 new ones is awesome!) so there are lots of people to talk to and connect with. They are very helpful and always greet me with a smile (even when I'm not smiling;)) Thank you SMC Recovery!

It’s a bit embarrassing leaving a review on here but I feel like it is deserved. This establishment has incredible staff that only wants to help each individual with their individual needs. Deon (counselor) is fantastic… and can’t say enough good things. Lisa (lead of the establishment) and her nursing staff works with everyone to make sure everyone gets what they need. They helped me when I needed it. I had to leave early but felt the need to leave a review. Thanks again

I’ve been at SMC now for a little over a year, and have primarily positive experiences. They are an excellent small clinic (only 120-150ish patients) and one nurse who does the dosing. The Dr is lovely and has an… extensive history working with addicts in recovery. They offer up to 13 days of takehomes in the final stage, which has worked out well so far. Also the staff is very friendly, kind, and welcoming. My counselor always asks if there is anything I need help with. I appreciate that they treat each patient on an individualized level. This is a clinic that is not out for $, but rather prioritizes patient care. They accept Mercycare insurance, otherwise $60 a week. Also they have successfully done the Bernese Method— of slowly tapering down the methadone and increasing micro doses of suboxone simultaneously, thus having to stop methadone for 3-4 days and being super sick when they do a suboxone induction, which I wouldn’t even consider until a dose below 40mg. Hope I gave an accurate and thorough review. Thank You 😊

LISA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! I started this clinic 4 years ago when I was desperately wanting to stop using. I definitely wouldn’t still be clean if it wasn’t for her. Being in addiction for as long as I have led me to… see many different treatment centers, clinics, and councilors etc. I can honestly say that SMC is one of the most caring places I have been to. From day one they welcome you exactly where you’re at with loving arms and genuine care. This is the only clinic out of many that I have seen that is not money driven and actually works hard for their clients. Every member of staff here is great, and understand how individualized recovery is and help you create specific treatment goals designed just for you. Lisa is the heart and soul of this place and through her own journey she is able to have that true love and compassion for her clients that you very rarely find these days. She’s gone above and beyond for me more times than I can count and I consider myself so blessed to have chose this place. I have stayed here when I moved away for 4 months and had to drive almost two hours one way once a week, and have also stayed here when I could have gone to another place for free. (This is before they took insurance.) Anyways if you’re looking for people that truly understand that recovery is a process with good times and bad and are there to help you through rather than kick you out or reprimand you then this is the place.

I’ve been a patient at this clinic for over 3 years, the staff is awesome especially Lisa and all the nurses! It’s a clean facility and your able to get in an out with zero waiting! I don’t have any experience with… other clinics but i picked this one even though it was expensive in the beginning and a 30 min drive every day, it was well worth it in my opinion. They did start taking my insurance not too long ago. They do really care about your life and recovery, I’ve gotten so much help from housing situations, jobs, and referrals for mental health and other therapists. They are very understanding to your situation and try to help in anyway. They’ve made many exceptions for me due to travel or other things on multiple occasions. Before coming here I was very skeptical about MAT but I’ve tried everything else. I’ve heard horror stories about how difficult it is to get off methadone and that it’s liquid handcuffs. At this clinic that’s the farthest thing from the truth. The best part is your in charge of your dose. I’ve been tapering down for a while and there’s no monthly limit on how much you can taper.

My girlfriend successfully graduated from their program, and has been clean for years now and this clinic helped her a lot. The counselor that she had was very good and tried her best to help when she could. While there… were some hiccups along the way due to some financial mix ups on both sides, I believe her recovery went very good due to this clinic, and now that they accept AHCCCS (from what I'm told, could have changed) I believe that if you live in the area this is a very good choice for a clinic, I still have to drive very far to get to mine. Good luck to anyone taking the road to better their lives and have a good one.

I read another reviewer state that "on multiple accounts, [they] experienced problems with the staff sharing other patients' personal information, and hearing of them sharing [theirs] with others as well." I experienced… this too... The counselor was also unfamiliar with Borderline & Narcissistic Abuse which is something I experienced growing up that played a large role in my substance abuse... Other than that though, I would say it's the best clinic I've ever attended. The staff is pretty warm and friendly, clean atmosphere, and for the most part I felt welcome there- not 100%, but I am left with a more positive experience than negative. It's worth mentioning they have a rule where you can't go past a 60mg daily dose if you are taking benzos that aren't prescribed, yet they "don't have a benzo taper/detox/treatment protocol"... Lots of people mix xanax and opiates and I am/was one of those people. I understand it's a METHADONE clinic, but the only (constructive) criticism I have is that there should be more M.A.T. options available there for poly-substance users- the clinic I attended prior to SMC (CODAC in Tucson... & I DO NOT recommend that place! If I could give it negative stars in a review, I would) was helping me get off of benzos as well as opiates... Also, the person dispensing the methadone would ask me for the $60/week payment on a daily basis even if I had just paid the day before, but that's probably due to "technological difficulties" and not directly anybody's "fault". Overall, if you are considering treatment, I would recommend this facility.
