I have struggled with alcohol abuse for the last three years and this was the ONE place out of 23 treatment centers that finally worked. Nobody ever thought they would see me sober, but today I can say I am, thanks to… Sober Life. I was a frequent relapser, just barely making it by, and when I decided to seek treatment through Sober Life a whole new world opened for me. The team at Sober Life cares. I felt valued, I felt empowered, understood and heard. After being in and out of so many treatment centers I found myself fatigued, but through my process with Sober Life I actually wanted to continue my program as long as I could. I WANTED to be there and I've learned a life I never knew possible thanks to the team there. I can say that this program likely saved my life, and showed me a new life that I could never have imagined. The support and understanding was beyond belief. I felt so safe there. I've made friendships with a lot of my peers from groups as well. Which I never wanted to do before. Recovery can be difficult to begin, scary to start, but Sober Life feels SAFE. I'm not the type to write reviews, but I know how hard I struggled and for anyone reading this or questioning a start, I highly recommend this team. I am eternally grateful for my experience there.
Sober life has been one of the best experiences in my life! I came in not really sure what I wanted out of treatment and scared to really connect with people and have them see me in my weaker moments. All of the staff… at sober life loved me through these issues and helped me get to a place where I felt safe and comfortable enough to communicate what was really going on with me, and gave me the tools I needed to be able to deal with things as they came up on a daily basis. Anytime I was a little off or lost any amount of momentum, they noticed immediately and did whatever they could to make sure I continued my progress and that even though addiction is a lonely disease, it became a lot easier to believe I wasnt alone and recovery is possible. It wasn't complicated at all, they handle the insurance stuff for you so you can focus and prioritize your recovery over anything else. Kimberly, Dan, Ashley, and Kelley have all been huge grounding stones in my recovery, showing up every time and helping me make solutions out of chaos. Having all of these amazing, kind, and extremely dependable people in my life has kept me steady and also taught me what having people around who genuinely love you, want the best for you, and who celebrate your achievements and help you through your downfalls looks like. Like any recovery program, you have to want it and put in your own effort, but they make the weight just lighter enough that it seems much more attainable.
SoberLife: Great program and especially, great, caring, professional staff! They helped me so much. Highly recommended.
Highly recommend. For addiction and mental health. My journey through soberlife has been such a blessing. The staff are very caring, intuitive, relatable & intelligent. I learned so much & really think the curriculum is… top tier. They take your recovery seriously, motivating you to do the same. Core memories made here, so sad to leave but thankful for the experience of a lifetime.I never imagined being a week sober, now I am almost 6 months. Make the choice to heal, you deserve it.
Sober life is the absolute BEST place to be if you are struggling. I went in 2020 and didn’t complete, and they welcomed me back with open arms march of this year and I went through completion. I have had the… opportunity to stay in their network by getting care at SD wellness for psychiatry. Over this holiday week I had forgotten about my refill of a medication I need, I got in contact with Dan from alumni since I forgot what their hours were for thanksgiving and Black Friday, and by today (saturday) I have my refill! I got a personal call from Dr Amaro and got squared away. I’ve never found a medical group that listens, cares, and has better communication than here. I am so happy with this process and will always come back if I need it! Highly recommend!
Sober Life was the best choice our family could’ve made at a very difficult time in our lives. Administratively, Kimberly and the staff were so easy to work with, they were responsive, friendly, down to earth and gave… us a safe space to discuss very difficult topics. Recovery related, they teach the tools needed to deal with addiction, the thoughts behind addiction and they have created an environment that allows people to feel safe to be open, honest and deal with life’s challenges. The 90-Day outpatient treatment option is one I would recommend to anyone dealing with drug/alcohol addictions. They dealt with our insurance easily and were able to enroll immediately. They also offer family counseling, because this is a family disease and everyone should be involved. I can honestly say, they truly care and if you are serious about recovering they can help!
The most authentic, caring, compassionate and beneficial treatment center I've ever had the pleasure of attending. Finding Sober life saved my life and I am eternally grateful to every patient and staff member for their… intervention and support. Thank you sincerely
I had an experience where the facilitators focused the whole group session around making fun of me, I felt belittled, and extremely embarrassed. Then made remarks about how I should go to another facility, or back to… work even as far to go to imply I’m just going to go right back to drinking. These facilitators are supposed to be supportive and encouraging and give me a safe space. That was no my experience whatsoever, I’m extremely disappointed.
I was here for almost 100 days and can tell you that this place works. Staff is beyond wonderful and truly cares about the clients. If your on the brink I really recommend this place.
Enjoyed my time here very much. The counselors truly care about their clients. I’ve been through a few outpatient programs before, but this one was the best by far. I would recommend sober life to anyone truly serious… about their recovery.
What good things can I not say about Sober Life? Whether you face mental health or substance abuse issues, this organization has an all-encompassing program that is flexible and is customized to one's needs. For me, I… struggled with an alcoholic relapse that brought me to the darkest of dark places. Shame, guilt, self-loathing, embarrassment, isolation and most of all, FEAR had kept me shackled down with little hope. As I kept sliding further down the scale, logic told me I needed help and my heart cried for some kind of comfort and reprieve. In June 2022, I went on a spree of calling outpatient facilities to find that either there was a waiting list or did not take my insurance. By a "God shot" one of the places that didn't take my insurance referred me to Sober Life. Upon walking in, I saw smiling faces, people chatting with each other, playing games and listening to music. The overall vibe and energy was relaxed and welcoming. From the Admin, to the Psych Team, Therapists and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors, I found a home in which I felt like I belonged for once in my life. The Sober Life team is authentic and passionate about what they do and you can tell that they truly want to help and see those in treatment succeed. The processing groups are safe, raw and real. That is what I needed to get down to the heart of my self and issues, beginning on the journey of recovery and healing. After treatment, they offer an amazing alumni program that allows you to continue to be plugged in and meet others. **Edit** P.S. Sober Life is opening up a program for adolescents - I would highly recommend for anyone that needs the additional support. Thank you Sober Life team for all you do!!
The facility gave me the guidance and sense of community I desperately desired. I'm more than thankful for the facilitators and the company as a whole. Thank you for changing my life day by day.
Sober Life really helped my son with caring and professional staff. Only regret is that seeking a therapist afterward was left up to him. I think SL should have done more toward that. Six months later he relapsed back… to square one. P.S. It is a rare thing in this big world to have someone reach out to someone in need. John M. from Sober Life has done just that after he read my review. This program is a head above others because even after graduating the program they will be there to help.
It was my first time going through treatment and I had an incredible experience at Sober Life! Would highly recommend this amazing place to anyone who’s seeking help!!
I graduated Sober Life last month (july 2021) after almost 4 months. I went straight into the program after finishing my eating disorder treatment, and it saved my life. I cannot express my gratitude for SL enough. I… would not be where I am today, surrounded by the people I am, and most definitely i would not be sober, without this program. SL has such a special place in my heart, and always will. To all the staff, i love love you all and to all of the patients currently in the program or thinking about taking that step, you can do this!!! your recovery is worth it and SL has got your back the whole way.
I attended sober in the early days of covid when the world appeared to crumbling around us. Sober life and its staff were the safe harbor i needed to jumpstart my recovery. They have an amazing team of dedicated people… that really go out of there way to make sure that you are taken care of. The location downtown is very central and easy to find right off the freeway. I would 100% recommend sober life if you are looking for an outpatient in san diego. They also have a great alumni group that meets twice a month and provides continued care for graduates of sober life. having attended many different programs in san diego and Los Angeles i can say i have never had a program do as much as sober life did for me in my early recovery.
This is a personal journey so if you’re not ready for it think more. But if you’re in and want people that really care and can help you. We’ll. This is the place. I couldn’t imagine a more professional organized group… of people to set you on the right path.
This place helped me immensely. I came here after doing a month in a inpatient mental health place to help with my grief and major ptsd where I was using alcohol to cope. It was a great experience. I was assigned a… therapist who was also prior military that I clicked with. When I would relapse I would tell them and it wasn't bad. It was a figure out why and move forward. I looked forward to showing up. While there is a curriculum, when something would arrise the day could change to the benefit of whom might be having a really hard time. Many times that was me. They definitely helped me. All of them actually care and alot of them have their own shares of bad experiences to relate on some way Either by mental health. Addiction or mix. The parking situation isn't ideal but they got a work to help. Its a very social open setting. I really have to say I made a lot of positive progress from this establishment and greatly also because of the staff. I feel like it's also become a family in a way
I completed treatment with Sober Life for the second time in 2020. After a relapse early in the year every attempt I made to stop drinking on my own was unsuccessful, but when I reached out to Bryan and explained what… was happening he was there to help immediately. First I checked into inpatient and after that into IOP at Sober Life, while live at a sober living house. The combination of groups and one on one therapy were exactly the structure I needed to get myself connected to a sober support system again. After completion I continued with AA and Smart Recovery as well as the Alumni program at Sober Life. I really can’t say enough about how much it meant to my early recovery to have the relationship with Sober Life going, because I do not think I would have gotten myself into treatment or stayed sober to this day had they not been there to answer my call.
I was so lucky to have recieved treatment at Sober Life . The people who on are staff were incredible. They treat the whole person. I had some coinciding trama, ( as many of us do). In my experience, I was treated with… every aspect of recovery. Science, art, traditional methods for recovery, psychology, spirituality ( upon my request) , socialization, diet....just about anything and everything was offered to me . Most of all , support. I have a very difficult time with trust and opening up. I felt so safe in their care. I stayed with Sober Life for 8 months . I even made some friends 😊 I was privileged to work with Kelley, Ari, Dusin, Jason, Anthony, Sammy, Allesandra . Brian , the owner was amazing too helping with insurance. . Every person was professional yet real. I am so grateful I am sober and loving life again. They are so good about giving tools for after care, including their alumni program which I'm happy to be a part of !
The first day I walked in I was welcomed and taking good care of from the time I finished too my after care. Happy and blessed to be apart of sober life helping me get back on my feet I couldn’t do it alone . I would… recommend anyone struggling with any addictions to come check this place out. “ You are not alone. Not now . Not ever do not give up. “
I am a graduate/ Sober Life Recovery Alumni! This program along with all of the staff provided me with the knowledge of myself and my disease of addiction. With new life tools and a strong support group, I'm now able to… face life on life's terms and live a happy successful life! If you have problems with drugs and alcohol, depression, anxiety, PTSD or anything of that nature, then give the amazing staff at Sober Life a call and give them the chance to love you until you can learn to love yourself again. THANK YOU SOBER LIFE RECOVERY!
I’ve been in and out of treatment for the past 15 years, and it wasn’t until I started at Sober Life Recovery that I met the most caring and welcoming staff. The program is thorough and the groups are never repetitive,… and are mediated by understanding and compassionate mental health professionals. The accountability, structure, group and individual therapy along with one on one with attentive case managers were exactly what I needed in order to get a life I never imagined possible. I will forever be grateful for Sober Life and the incredible staff that all played a huge part in saving my life. I would recommend Sober Life to anyone struggling with mental health or alcohol and drug dependency.
I would recommend sober life to anyone who is struggling. I’ve learned so much there and the staff truly care about your benefit ☺️ This place has helped save my life!!!
Sober Life Recovery has changed my life forever. I struggled with alcoholism, addiction and depression for a total of 17 years, ultimately seeking help for 12 years. After countless AA meetings, therapy sessions and… rehab, I felt hopeless. Thankfully I was referred to Sober Life by a family friend. With a mixture of group therapy, family therapy(which is optional) and one on one therapy, Sober Life gave me the tools I need to live a sober, happy and successful life. The whole staff is AMAZING and goes above and beyond! They actually sincerely care for all of their clients, which has not been my experience in the past. I finally felt welcomed and at home. Jason was my therapist and completely changed my whole view about therapy. Kellee was my case manager but did so much more than what is required of that position. Sammy was always there to greet me with a smile and some laughter to start the day off right. I wish I could name all the others that helped me become who I am today but the list is extensive! I’m now 7 months sober, working full time, and living by the beach in sunny San Diego. I have a boat load of sober friends and most importantly, I’M HAPPY!!! I’m also a part of the Sober Life Alumni group which is so great! Now that I’m 33 I can’t help but to wish I had found Sober Life earlier. I feel like I can accomplish anything, and I owe that to the Sober Life Recovery program and the staff that stands behind it.
