Hospital inpatient care is delivered here. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at St Peters Health
Hospital inpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Waiting times move with capacity, and what was true last month may not hold this week.

I almost didn’t write a review but it may be helpful for others out there, I have been to st Pete’s most of my life and they have only gotten worse from beds in the middle of the hall mine was by the garbage room (that… they still charge full price for) I was there for a work place injury at the beginning of the year and they sent the bill to collections instead of charging the work comp insurance that I provided them once so I called to correct it and was assured it was taken care of. I had not heard anything until now 5 months later when I received more bills from the debt collection for my work comp injury, so I attempted to go in and fix it this time, the ER isn’t owned by st Pete’s so now I’ve been on hold for 1 hour trying to get them to fix their mistake because when I called last week and selected the “wait in line” option I never got a call back and st Pete’s can’t do anything to help me with the mistake because they don’t own their own ER and additionally the doctor can bill separately so you can leave with multiple separate bills from your doctor a bill from st Pete’s, and a bill from the actual owner in Georgia and good luck trying to get any help fixing there billing mistakes that they 100% will have because it happens every time I have gone there
I just gave birth to a little girl on the 2nd of September and I have to say the nurses and dr.plate is the best they were their even when I didn’t press the call button and the anesthesiologist to put in my epidural… during the birth was the best too she was so gentle at putting it in even when I was afraid of it the only thing I do have to say after two hours of birthing a tiny human then a lactation nurse comes in and talks your brain out I was exhausted and honestly probably didn’t even understand what she was saying for how exhausted I was other then that great staff and great everything thank you to labor and delivery for making it easy and thank you to my OB for that as well I can’t thank you all enough!
Very disappointing how long it takes St Peter's Health hospital receptionists to answer the phone. It's important for St Peter's to remember that it's often the receptionist who makes the first impression for a customer… and... you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
I have never written a review in all of my years but after dealing with St Peters I have to. My father had a fall a few months ago. He was in the er here for a few hours before they sent him home with some pain… medication. We saw the dr for all of five minutes and had an xray done. No major problems with the care he received. He has medicare and a supplemental plan. Since he was seen we have had nothing but problems with their billing department. They continue to bill his supplement plan but not medicare. The supplement plan will not pay anything until medicare pays first. I have called them half a dozen times and each time they say they will correct it but nothing ever gets done. My father is panicking that it is going to hurt his credit score that he has spent his whole life building. It has gotten so bad that he just wants to pay out of his pocket to save on aggrivation instead of using the benefits he earned and paid for.
My grandma had been on blood thinners for years and went in for a minor operation. They should’ve put her back on her blood thinners a couple/few days post surgery but failed to do so and she had a deadly stroke on day… 14 of recovery. Couldn’t recommend this place to anyone, unfortunately.
If I can give a zero I would worst hospital ever I went in for excruciating pain was roomed but the doctor didn't come in until like 2 hours later they weren't that busy and then I had back pain and they CT scanned my… stomach and then when I was discharged I was told I should walk home and when I asked for a case manager I was pretty much told no they've also on different occasions sent me home with a blood clot and a blood infection would not recommend
While in Helena Montana to attend a wedding I got sick. I was in a lot of pain so I broke down and went to the doctor. This clinic was super fast and efficient. All the staff from the lady who checked me in to the… doctor herself were so kind and caring. They even had a pharmacy in the lobby. That made it so convenient to get my prescription filled. I wish we had this kind of service in Idaho where I live.
Same as always, hurry up, then sit and wait!
I came in this morning and was greeted by Bella for bloodwork. Bella was absolutely wonderful, efficient and wonderful personality and I was in and out in 6-8 minutes! She’s the best employee I’ve had the pleasure… getting labs from! Also the initial needle poke wasn’t even noticeable and gave me feedback when results should be ready! 10 stars
Helpful staff
If you’re looking to wait in the ER after you have been transported from your regular doctor to urgent care who said the only option was to go to the ER and wait in the waiting room for a few hours while you’re on the… verge of sepsis you’ve come to the right place!Plus they will charge you thousands of dollars and come back 6 months later saying you owe even more! We need better choices in this town for hospitals
11 Million dollar waterfall??? I guess that's where their priorities are! I called St. Peter's a few years ago to see how much a visit would cost. The gal that answered the phone told me how much it would be. I paid in… full (in cash). I was seen by a doctor that seemed very unconcerned and uncaring. Dr Brown. (This guy doesn't have a clue and should have retired 60 years ago). Almost a year later, I get a letter from a collection agency for almost $200. Since I paid in cash I'm assuming it was pocketed because Never once did I get a bill from St. Peter's. I was told in person that I'd paid in full. Of course, supposedly there's nothing St. Peter's is willing to do once it's sent to collections. I believe Liars and thieves run this operation. Update.... I posted this many years ago and was referring to St Peter's urgent care. However, I know now they fired all the good doctors (and many other employees as well) many years ago at the main hospital... Most likely to save money so the can build another 11 million dollar waterfall! Check it out for yourself!! The waterfall is nice but don't be fooled!!! This place is a joke and guess what? They didn't fire Dr Brown, they moved him to the main hospital!!!!! No joke! 😳 He is a big joke as is this hospital. I'd give negative stars if I could. If you're not seriously ill when you arrive you'll likely soon be after you do. God bless those of you in need of a good doctor. I'll stay away from here. You'd best do the same.
Terrible place. Editing this a couple years later. My opinion is this is the worst hospital Montana. Could be the worst in multi state region. Close it. Wish I could have sought litigation at the time.
Do not have a baby here. The doctor didn't even make it into the delivery room before my baby came out and lost way too much blood because of it. Billing has also been a nightmare and feel as though the cost way exceeds… the level of care I received. I can’t say enough good things about the nurses though. They were great.
I debated on leaving this review but after much consideration I think it’s a must. yesterday, March 5, I took a client of mine to St. Pete’s neurology department. I do private home health and I’m 25 years into this line… of work. Patient care is extremely important to me and I feel very passionate about it. That is why I decided to share this experience we had yesterday. As most Helena locals know, we have had Dr. Clark as the main Neurologist until recently. Yesterday we were going in to see Dr. Tullar who is the PA. I Will add that he was extremely helpful and professional towards my client who has Parkinson’s disease. We think very highly of Dr. Tullar. My client has dealt with this disease for more than 20 years. Unfortunately, the Parkinson’s affects so many parts of her daily living. She is an extremely intelligent woman even with all challenges she’s been dealt. She faces them head on each and every day. Back to my complaint and review. While we We’re in the doctor’s office answering all of the CMA questions. My patient looked at me and told me that she needed to use the restroom asap. The CMA checking us in could see the urgency so she took us out of the room and then helped us rush to the nearest bathroom. She did this with grace, respect, and dignity towards my friend with Parkinson’s. She helped us to the closest bathroom as well as provided me with any supplies that we may have needed while we were in there. On our way into that bathroom, Dr. Clark just happened to be walking by. She then proceeded to tell me we can’t go in there, that this was the employees bathroom and that we should not be using it. She could tell what kind of scenario was taking place. I then told her that the nurse checking us in brought us to this bathroom because she knew that we needed one extremely close! Dr. Clark proceeded down the hallway yelling the nurses name saying “ this is the employees private bathroom and that we should not be using it” She was yelling this and obviously was being extremely judgmental. My client who already was feeling embarrassed of what was taking place. Dr. Clark made the experience 1000 times more embarrassing than what it should have been. You would think that the patient care was the first thing on the doctors mind. She should’ve asked if we needed anything on our way into the restroom, knowing what was taking place. For this reason, I could never look at Dr. Clark the same. As for the PA and the CMA the helped me assist my client to the rest room and supplies I needed THANK YOU! Thank you For showing compassion and remembering what patient care is all about and THANK YOU for showing kindness to the Parkinson’s patient. She is there to receive the best quality of care without being judged or humiliated. Thank you Dr. Clark for reminding me that some Doctors have forgotten where we should all go back to and that patient care first. I left your restroom as tidy as I would have left my own. Signed; A caretaker who thinks dignity for our patients should always come first.
A nother horable experience. Worthless hospital. Rude staff. Can't even find information in their system. Had to walk them through the check in process. Staff dose not listen to patients. They can't even do basic… procedures or exams. The whole system for appointments is flawed. Not handi cap friendly.
Dr. Sanders performed a surgical procedure at st peters hospital on me. His bedside manner is poor. He's not personable, friendly and not very detailed at informing you of stuff. He doesn't seem like he actually cares… about the patient. After my surgery, he didn't come see me after anesthesia wore off and tell me how the procedure went. Or what to expect going forward. He supposedly called my husband, but didnt even identify himself. My husband thought it was a nurse calling. There were no post op care instructions or discharge instructions left by the doctor at the hospital. The nurses at st peters hospital were scrambling around trying to figure out how to discharge me without any instructions. This is completely upsetting, unprofessional and unacceptable. Dr. Sanders also wouldn't prescribe me anything for pain, or give me an antibiotic for a possible infection, since the surgical site is in the mouth. Although, he told me prior to surgery if I needed something to call his office. Which I did and he refused. This doctor doesn't actually care about patients. He only cares about getting paid. Helena's Healthcare is horrible. The hospital's nurses were nice but thats it. Update- In regards to the owner's response: I did call quality control yesterday and left a message. Nobody called me back.
My ER bill was paid in full over a month ago. The check was cashed. However, my account has yet to be credited. I am still receiving paper bills and emails telling me to pay. So far, they have tacked on $89 in fees… since the payment. I've contacted them three times. The local folks have been great and have tried everything they can to get the bean counters in Nebraska to credit my account.
Took a relative to the ER with Influenza A. After being triaged in the waiting room (understandable because they were busy), they sent her home after giving her a tylenol and a benadryl pill. In the meantime, her… patient notes didn't reflect the details she had told them. Bloodwork was abnormal but they didn't say or do anything about it when she inquired. They wouldn't let her have any water to drink even though dehydration was clearly an issue. Her notes claim she had a medical scribe. There was no one taking notes. The notes reflect they did a number of checks on her for various things, they didn't do anything but listen to her heart and chest. DO NOT USE THIS ER or HOSPITAL. Kelley Dewey was the DO that treated her. You are better off driving to Bozeman, Great Falls or Missoula. I would give them a ZERO stars if that was even possible.
Brought my son in, and they had to draw is blood. Some phlebotomist guy name Christian Yellowboy came in, he was very rude and rough with my son. It was almost like he did not want to be there and he was letting it be… known. If you get a Phlebotomist named Christian, just save yourself the stress and request a different person.
I went to their Cafeteria this morning and usually their friendly but this morning the lady that helped me check out was rude and told me to use the other check out area. I explained that I don't have any money in my… checking account and to pay cash for 2 whole milks and a bottle of water. After paying for my items I went to sit for a few and the sitting area was dirty. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A HOSPITAL CAFETERIA!
Very caring staff. Got my appointment quickly very satisfied
We went in to the ER for our 4 month old and there was a girl violently puking in the waiting room that they were not helping. On top of that there was a guy who was on drugs who had a knife in his pocket and kept… scooting closer to us and our baby. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Stay away from that ER at all costs. They were not taking any precautions to keep anyone healthy or safe. We ended up leaving without even getting him checked out.
Excellent care
