Had a great experience here at STR Bucks came out of treatment into their PHP program after having relapsed multiple times and this place was definitely a key factor in helping me stay sober and on the right track. My… therapist Ashley was amazing, all the behavior techs were great they really care about their clients and their well being. My case manager Melvin made things extremely easy helping me take time off from work while I was in treatment. STR Bucks has been a blessing in my life and I recommend it to anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental health.

If you are looking for a place to recover this is not it! They advertise having LGBTQ housing/bedding when they do not! I was recommended to do a month of extended care so when calling to see if they had availability in… the LGBTQ housing for a month of php my aftercare provider and I were told yes to both! When calling to do the over the phone intake we were informed that housing was not yet open but everything was set for a month! It wasn’t until I was 2 weeks in that I found out the LGBTQ housing was actually shut down with no intent to be re-opened. Then almost a week later I’m being told that the 4 week program that I signed up for is actually a mandatory 6 week program. I bring this to the manager of the establishment who basically just deflected taking no accountability to the misgivings of this place! In the short 2 1/2 weeks I’ve been here four separate occasions they forgot to pick us up to bring us to the center. Then there’s the housing! Dirty, falling apart and not very well managed! One of the houses actually has a mouse infestation and it’s taken over a week to get someone out there to handle that not including most of the repair orders that have been sent in with no follow up! This place has no structure which is a key to early recovery and the lack of accountability is outstanding! There are some great staff here but unfortunately that doesn’t make up for all the lies and mismanagement!

Therapy has helped me understand myself better, manage life's challenges with more confidence, and build healthier habits. It's been a great reminder that asking for support is a strength, not a weakness. Also, I love… my therapist Blake, and Rebecca literally saved my life with med management! As far as group therapy, it gave me a supportive space to connect with people who truly understood what I was going through. It helped me gain new perspectives and feel less alone! I highly recommend STR for anyone looking for extra support!

I have been in treatment with STR since July of this summer. Being here has been so transformative to my recovery with amount of support receive. Every single person on staff provides a safe space for me every step of… the way. When I am having a tough moment or in need of support, there is always someone who is available to help. I feel seen as an individual. The case manager, the therapists and the staff are all beside me every single day; they know “my story” and follow through always. I will be forever be grateful for STR as being a part of my evolution on the journey to sobriety. 100 days 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Not the best place to go for treatment. I have heard that the mh program was better, but substance abuse was a mess. I will say the rent wasn’t bad and they were willing to work with you, as not everyone coming in was… in a position to afford it. Rules would constantly change on the fly and we would get penalized-simply for not knowing! On multiple occasions, techs would lie to admin to get us in trouble because they weren’t doing their job (I will say that towards the end of my stay this got better). Groups were often a joke (besides process group) and we all just kind of got away with scrolling on our phones. Food budget for substance is $25/week, and if you want (need) to supplement that with your own food, you’d better hope you have a car or someone willing to drive you or you’re SOL. I showed up high one day and no one even noticed…I had an individual session with my therapist and everything despite expressing that I was struggling a lot. Anyway…I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, most of my cohort relapsed during or soon after they left the program. No support when you’re struggling.

This place saved my life. At my lowest of lows I came here and they gave me the hope I needed to go out and live a successful life. Erin truly made my day everytime I’d see her she would always give me some kind of… inspiration to keep going

My time in the PHP program at STR was truly life-changing. I came in struggling with trauma and uncertainty, and the staff created a safe, supportive space where I could begin to heal and grow. A special thank you to my… case manager Katie for helping me navigate legal issues and plan my next steps when I felt overwhelmed. I’m also deeply grateful to my therapists Matt, Ashley, and Blake, as well as Lauren, the intern, who all supported me through the hardest parts of recovery. Leigh Anne, our house lead behavioral health tech, kept communication open and made sure everyone felt heard. Monique, the nurse practitioner, was incredibly compassionate and helped me take my first steps toward accepting my need to change pronouns and pursue gender-affirming care. I’m leaving this program stronger, more self-aware, and genuinely thankful for the care I received. 💙

STR has been an amazing experience that I greatly needed! The entire staff from my Therapist Matt, Case Manager Katie to every single BHT/Tech on staff were extremely kind hearted and supportive throughout my entire… journey! I definitely feel like I have received the treatment and tools needed to be able to live the happy and healthy sober life that I deserve!

I had a really positive experience at STR Behavioral Health. The PHP/IOP program truly helped me during a time when I needed structure, support, and understanding. The environment is welcoming, and you can tell the… staff genuinely care about your recovery and progress. A special thank you to my case worker, Katie, who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. She was always supportive, organized, and easy to talk to. I also want to recognize the therapists, Ashley and Matt—they both brought something unique to the program and made group sessions meaningful and engaging. They created a safe space where I felt comfortable opening up and working through difficult things. The rest of the staff members were also amazing—kind, patient, and always willing to help. You’re treated like a person, not just a patient, and that made a big difference in my experience. I’m truly grateful for everything I learned at STR Behavioral Health, and I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking for real support in their recovery journey.

I cannot say enough positive things about this outpatient mental health and substance abuse program. From the very first phone call, I was treated with compassion, respect, and zero judgment. The intake process was… smooth and thorough, and the staff made sure I felt heard and understood every step of the way. The therapists and counselors are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about their clients’ progress. They create a safe, supportive environment where it feels comfortable to open up about difficult topics. The combination of group therapy, individual counseling, and educational sessions provided practical tools I could immediately apply to my daily life. The sense of community here is powerful. Being surrounded by others who truly understand the journey makes a huge difference. The staff fosters connection, encouragement, and hope in a way that feels authentic and empowering. If you or a loved one are looking for an outpatient program that combines professionalism, empathy, and evidence-based care, I highly recommend this one. It has truly made a meaningful and lasting impact.

Katie the case manger at STR Bucks was absolutely amazing throughout my aftercare process. She was so sweet, supportive, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. She always made me feel comfortable asking questions… and never once made me feel like I was bothering her. Katie consistently checked in on me and truly showed that she cared. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by my side during this time. I’m so grateful for all of her support!

The staff was excellent, everyone treated me with love and kindness. Very supportive. It was a blessing!

Katie has been absolutely amazing and always on top of my case. She’s sweet, professional, and you can truly tell she cares about her job and her clients. She goes above and beyond to make sure everything is handled and… that I feel supported. I’m very satisfied with the help and attention I’ve received, highly recommend her!

This is my first time in treatment and hopefully the last. I was treated with so much kindness and professionalism. My therapist and doctor met with me every week and always knew the right questions to ask. The BHT's… were amazing, always knowing how to get you to smile and were very open if you needed anything to make your stay more comfortable. Shout out to Katie for always helping me with Medication issues and coming into CVS to help me get my Meds no matter what. If anybody else was struggling with addiction I would highly recommend STR!

I have recently gone across the country, for 100 days, to attend the best Treatment center in San fransisco, CA. I had 10 years sober from 2006-2016... and a new sponsor told me that I was cheating due to MAT... So I… went off my meds, and literally died over a dozen times... until finally I went to university of Texas (Austin), for nueropsych testing, MRI, and then went to CA. Where i could be monitored, tested, observed and diagnosed and placed on proper medications... I really wanted to attend STR, for PHP, IOP, GOP program, and I had finally surrendered to the program... and followed all the directions of my treatment plan... Then STR told me that I couldn't attend their program unless I stopped taking my meds. I literally just went thru 7 years of hell, after 10 solid years of sobriety, i went out... bc I listened to someone who told me to get off my meds... so I had to advocate for myself, and was mot accepted into the STR Program. I share this bc, I am serious about my recovery, and medication compliance is a third of my 3 fold obligation. Along with AA, And therapy... so please, if you need your medications, and they work... do not stop taking them... find a program that works with you, and helps u on your journey... aftercare is a huge part of getting acclimated back into your home life, and the step down process just helps your percentages of attaining long term sobriety... and all the work I just did for 100 days, shouldn't disqualify me from getting the help I needed. I really wanted to attend STR... But I was denied... and I really needed help. I trust my higher power has a different plan for me... STR is a great program... I just wish they gabe me a chance.

I went to inpatient treatment at a facility in Pittsburgh and then transferred to Provive in Wayne, PA (HORRIBLE experience), and RCA in Devon picked me up and I was there for PHP and they immediately began asking for… rent money, which I couldn't pay because I had come off of the streets with no money, no family, no financial assistance of any kind...only my insurance. So, I had to find a place to stay that would give me a chance to get well without having to focus solely on financial responsibilities, and that's where Steps to Recovery came into my life. I started PHP with STR and enjoyed the program significantly. By the time 2:30 rolled around, it didn't seem like I had spent hours there. It really just seemed like an extended therapy session, which I needed so badly. I was able to focus solely on rehabilitation and processing everything I went through, and learning how to better myself, and come up with a relapse prevention plan for those tough times. I learned a lot about myself during this time. I had 2 therapy sessions per week and saw the doctor weekly. I met with case management every time I needed to. We did art therapy, music therapy, recovery 12 step meetings, alumni meetings, Dharma, we celebrated holidays together, and we became a big, functional (rather than dysfunctional). The therapists run groups, as do the technicians, which is great because everybody runs groups differently and we focused not on sobriety, but on recovery. I am still at STR as we speak, and I'm so grateful for them because I've made it to IOP (Intensive Outpatient) and I've gotten a job, which they helped me get. They bring Career Link in to help with resumes, and interview skills, as well as building a LinkedIn page, and so much more. I definitely think of this place as home, and every family has their problems, but my "problems" here have really been miniscule compared to the other places I've been. Any complaints I have with my life and how things are going are 100% a Jenn problem, and not an STR problem. STR set me up for success. I'm about to move to a recovery house. They provided me a list of DDAP certified houses and I'll be moving the end of December. The techs and therapists are AMAZING. Shout out to Ashley, Matt, Lauren (intern), Sarah, Greg, Bobby, Amanda, Leigh Ann, Shawn, Philip even though he's not still there, Pam (the best office manager ever), and many more. God bless STR for helping me get from being homeless to having a job and about to have my own place at a recovery house. I couldn't have asked for a better program. If you come here and you don't like it right away, GIVE IT SOME TIME. Or talk to your peers. It's a tough transition, and that's ok. But stick it out. I did. And it changed my life!

My experience at Steps to Recovery has been great for the most part, the people and the environment are very welcoming and comforting. I have had some issues that have come up, but they usually get resolved. My only… main gripe is with some of the other clients at the community living house fail to clean up after themselves, and some do not know self control. But, the staff here is very professional and easy to talk to. I find that the opportunities here for my recovery journey are pretty good, although I'd like access to more holistic therapy resources. I've actually personally facilitated a Dharma meeting and will facilitate more in the future. I appreciate my time here at STR and am excited for the future with them.

Steps to recovery was a great program. The bhts were great and understood what I was going through with a lot of them being in recovery as well. As well as the therapists being well trained and met my needs. Overall a… wonderful program that I would return to.

My treatment here was absolutely a success. I came here highly depressed with a negative outlook on life with zero hope. In combination with group therapy and individual therapy, my whole perspective was changed. I’m… leaving here refreshed and ready for what life has in store for me. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is struggling with substances and or their mental health.

A program full of people who care and understand. In need of better structure, within groups/topics. Although, a good option for individuals needing extra support with SUD or MH.
