About Turning Point Recovery Center Inc – Albuquerque
Turning Point Recovery Center Inc operates from 9201 Montgomery Boulevard in Albuquerque. The site sits in Bernalillo County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Carnuel, Edith Enclave and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Distance matters here, and the nearest option is not always the one that fits.
Detox, residential treatment, intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Detox and Rehab Services at Turning Point Recovery Center Inc
Withdrawal management covers alcohol, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid dependence and is handled on site rather than referred elsewhere. Someone starting in detox can move into residential care without changing provider or repeating an intake. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Residential here is short-term, which makes what follows discharge the more important question. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

Turning Point Recovery Center Inc Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 9201 Montgomery Boulevard, Albuquerque, NM 87111, in Bernalillo County. The catchment reaches Carnuel, Edith Enclave and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Turning is an amazing center that helps in many areas. The staff is amazing and very personable and I would recommend the center for all recovery needs
This place is amazing....was in the RTC program and now in IOP! Staff is unbelievably supportive and compassionate!
TPRC is the best I went to the RTC program and now I’m in IOP. This place is amazing, I love it!
It's good for my recovery and relationships for the community
I do appreciate this program as I feel it is very well structured, and I appreciate the activities as well as meeting people with the same goals. I appreciate Donald for his counseling profession, and our one on one… sessions as I’ve learned a lot from a psychological standpoint. Lawanda has Also been great and I appreciate her outlook on different situations as well as explaining the 12 steps in AA In a way that is more clear and understanding to myself. DC is also awesome for taking the time to sit with me and explain every medication very well for my anxiety issues, It was very well informed and appreciated. I absolutely love this program and I’m going to continue to go to my IOP , I look forward to it ! ❤️
This institution promised me that I would be able to return and then did not follow through when I needed to. They talk about helping the needy, but then apparently, when. It come to it they do not follow through.
Great sense of community! Being surrounded by others who understand what you’re going through makes a huge difference. The programs are well-structured, and there are plenty of resources available to support long-term… recovery.
Our family’s experience with this treatment center was extremely disappointing, and I want to share this so other families know what to expect when your loved one is being treated. From the beginning, there was… absolutely no schedule, plan, or information provided to us regarding our loved one’s admission. All I knew was that I had to drop them off and pick them up at some point, but the center never gave me any written information, emails, or calls to explain how long they would be there or what the process would look like. During treatment, clients are required to turn in their phones and are not allowed any communication with family members. While this could be understandable in the context of recovery, the center offered nothing to keep families informed—no updates, no visitation, and no clear timeline. Families are left in the dark, which only adds unnecessary stress. I had to call multiple times every day for three days just to try and get an estimate on when to pick up my loved one. Each time, I was met with rude, unprofessional, and dismissive responses from staff who weren’t even located where my family member was being treated. One employee in particular, Samantha, was unhelpful and dismissive—offering responses like, “maybe they’ll call you,” “they might reach out,” “if they want to.” Not only did she sound unprofessional and disinterested on the phone, but when she couldn’t answer questions, she would simply deflect by saying she couldn’t share information due to HIPAA—even though I was listed on the release of information for my family member. Our family went days without any reassurance that we would even be notified of their discharge. This is incredibly concerning, especially given that this is an addiction treatment center. Families deserve to know that their loved one will not just be released without proper communication, which could put them at high risk of relapse. It finally took me going to the center in person—where even the staff seemed confused—before anyone helped. Only then was I able to get a message through, discover that my loved one wasn’t even being treated at the same location I had dropped them off at (something I was never told), and finally arrange a call so we could schedule their pickup. This entire experience was chaotic, unprofessional, and deeply concerning. Families play a vital role in the recovery process, but this center completely shuts them out and treats them like an inconvenience. If you are considering this facility, I would strongly urge you to ask very direct questions about communication and family involvement. In our case, the lack of transparency and professionalism made an already difficult situation so much harder.
As a patient that has been in other programs, TPRC has been by far the best! Between the staff, the medical team, and the clients themselves, the experience has been great. Starting the program can be a process with… insurance and finding a bed/opening, but it's like that no matter where you go. Don't let that turn you away from this great program!
Best program ever
Was a great experience all the staff is very professional
I absolutely love the wellness center, I went to the inpatient program and the P.E.M.F beds were one of my favorite things to use
After I signed several consent forms online for IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) I did not receive a phone call until a week later. During this call, I discovered that they would not schedule an intake until a week… and half later. Then, when I mentioned my insurance would change soon, I was told to figure that out and the assessment would be cancelled until it was sorted out. I’m not sure what is intended when the term “intensive” is actually delayed treatment.
The detox is great I went here for detox it was nice it was hard but I got through it not so sure about the 30-day program though
I love TPRC! They have so many options and help during the recovery process! Super grateful for all the staff! I wouldn’t be at my point of sobriety without the help and encouragement from TP 🙏🏻 Also to mention the… super cool amenities they have to offer at the wellness center! I’m 143 days sobriety, I now have full custody of my daughter, and I am graduating with the class of Jan 2026 in the medical billing and coding! I could not have done it without my support team and everyone in my tool box from TPRC. I am forever grateful to everyone on my journey. They are truly amazing team! And go over and beyond for everyone.
Great experience here. I learned so much and will continue to use it going forward. I hope I never have to come back but if I do, this is where I would come!
My Experience in a Questionable Rehab Program I hesitated to write this for a long time, but sharing it has helped me find closure. A few years ago, I entered what I believed to be a structured 30-day rehabilitation… program. From the start, the environment felt unusually restrictive — communication with family was limited and monitored, and group meetings often felt more performative than supportive. After completing the initial program, I moved into the affiliated sober-living facility, where the culture became increasingly controlling and emotionally intense. The program emphasized “accountability” in ways that often crossed personal boundaries and blurred the lines between discipline and control. Residents were required to report their whereabouts constantly, attend multiple mandatory meetings each day, and publicly disclose personal issues in group settings that sometimes felt more punitive than therapeutic. Leadership maintained tight control over daily routines and communication, creating an atmosphere of fear and dependency rather than recovery. Ultimately, I was dismissed from the program for reasons I found unclear and disproportionate. The experience left me emotionally drained but also deeply reflective. It taught me a great deal about personal boundaries, the importance of ethical treatment environments, and how easily “help” can become coercion when power is misused. While it was painful, the experience strengthened my sense of autonomy and empathy for others navigating recovery. I share this not to assign blame, but to encourage discernment and transparency in organizations that claim to help vulnerable people.
Awesome services! Recovery is possible, thank you Neil :)
A wonderful resource to use in ABQ for recovery. They offer many programs inpatient, treatments and services.
