Images have not been submitted for UofL Health – Louisville. What somewhere looks like affects whether you can picture yourself there, so ask for photographs covering the building and its grounds.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I TOOK MY SON UP THERE FOR SOME MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. HES ON 2 LOURDES. HE'S BEEN IN THERE FOR 5 DAYS AND HAS HAD 1 SESSION WITH A THERAPIST FOR ABOUT 10… MINUTES. WHEN I CALL THEY ALLOW THE PHONE TO RING FOR 3-5 MINUTES BEFORE ANSWERING AND HANGING UP MULTIPLE TIMES. ORIGINALLY WE WERE TOLD THEY CAN CALL HOME WHENEVER THEY WANT THEN WE WERE TOLD THEY GET ONE CALL AFTER HE WAS ADMITTED. HES BEEN PHYSICALLY AND SEXUALLY ASSAULTED. THE STAFF REFUSED TO SWITCH HIM ROOMS AFTER AND SAID LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT AND GET ALONG. THE KID WHO ASSAULTED MY SON ASKED A STAFF WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO IF WE FIGHT SHE SAID IM GONNA STAND HERE AND WATCH THATS MY FAVORITE PART OF MY JOB. THEY DIDNT CUT ANY OF THE STRINGS FROM MY SONS CLOTHES WHICH PUTS EVERY CHILD ON THAT UNIT AT RISK ESPECIALLYTHE SUICIDAL CHILDREN. THE STAFF APPARENTLY SEND THEM TO A DAY ROOM WHILE THEY ALL HANG OUT AT THE STAFF DESK. WHEN I TRIED TO SIGN MY SON OUT THEY TOLD ME THE DOCTOR WILL PUT A HOLD ON HIM AND WONT ALLOW ME. MY SON HAS ASKED MULTIPLE TIMES TO TALK TO SOMEONE AND THEY DISMISS HIM SAYING THEY DONT HAVE TIME. IVE BEEN ON HOLD FOR 17 MINUTES TRYING TO TALK TO MY SON AFTER THEY ANSWERED AND HUNG UP ON ME 3 TIMES. WHILE ON HOLD MY SON CALLED ME AND SAID HE JUST WATCH A KID SNORT METH IN THE BATHROOM. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE ISSUE WITH PHONE CALLS THE NURSE TOLD ME THEY TELL THE PARENTS WHATEVER TO SHUT THEM UP. THERES AT THIS MOMENT THEY HAVE 3 GIRLS STAYING ON THE BOYS UNIT AND 2 KIDS WERE CAUCHT HAVING INTERCOURSE. THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE JOKE. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. UPDATE: THE NEXT MORNING AFTER I POSTED THIS THE DIRECTOR OF THE HOSPITAL CALLED ME SAYING SHE SAW MY REVIEW AND WANTED TO DISCUSS IT WITH ME AND PULL CAMERAS (AS UF I WAS LYING ABOUT IT ALL). SHE CALLED ME BACK SEVERAL HOURS LATER AND AGREED TO RELEASE MY SON. AFTER I TOLD HER ABOUT THE STRINGS THEY WENT AND CUT THEM OUT BUT FAILED TO CUT THE ONES FROM THE SHORTS GE WAS WEARING. STILL LEAVING ALL 23 CHILDREN AT RISK. THANK GOD I DONT HAVE A CUSTODY ISSUE GOING ON THE RELEASED HIM WITH NO CODE NO ID NOTHING OTHER THAN SIGN THIS. DIDNT EVEN ASK MY NAME. CRAZY HOW WHEN I ADKED TO SIGN HIM OUT SATURDAY THEY TELL ME THAT A FAMILY THERAPY SESSION IS MANDATORY BEFORE RELEASE BUT THEY READ MY REVIEW AND HES RELEASED THE SAME DAY WITHOUT A FAMILY SESSION. ONCE MY SON WAS RELEASED HE TOLD ME HOW THEY STRAPPED A KID TO A CHAIR FOR NOT LISTENING AND PLACED A BAG OVER HIS HEAD. SOMEONE NEEDS TO INVESTIGATE THIS PLACE.

I would like to express major concerns about this mental hospital. My girlfriend got put in there on Sunday and was supposed to be discharged Thursday morning from her 72 hour hold they had lied to her about discharge… paperwork and have made multiple sexual advances towards her since she was put in there. Medical staff and security have acknowledged that there is rats in the building and around medical supplies and are refusing to discharge her and have even been cause taking pictures of her and she has been woken up out of her sleep due to a male nurse walking into her room at night this place needs to be investigated as well for depriving her of her rights and ability to call me

I want to command Griselda, who works in medical records at our Lady of peace Hospital. My dear friend has been going through major stress, trying to help her son who was incarcerated for a drug offense and recently… released to get signed up for his treatment program ASAP as required by the court. At first, she was told that it would take two weeks to release the document, but Griselda was able to obtain the records and arranged for them to be released within 24 hours. I can’t tell you how much relief this has provided to my friend and removed much stress. Thank you!

I don't see how anyone gets any healing help. To be isolated in a room, no stimulation, just 4 blank walls, how does that help?

My son was admitted to UofL Health Peace Hospital on Wednesday night. I was finally informed yesterday morning (Saturday) that family was placed on his call list with no restrictions. However, he has not called anyone… in the family in 4 days, and anytime we have called the hospital, we have been informed that we must have an access code to speak to him, an access code that they failed to provide. They also claim that they have no access to verify his call list, which is why my son never called anyone. The staff failed to communicate the necessary requirements for him to call out, and receive calls, and then refused to offer any recourse whatsoever. I sent a Louisville police officer there today for a wellness check, and they informed me that they do not even have access to perform legal wellness checks on underage patients, which I believe constitutes an unethical business practice. Even though I spoke to an office manager, no one has been able to offer any sort of resolution, so that my son can have support and encouragement from family during this difficult time. This is a boy, who is not only grieving the loss of his mother, but is not even provided the basic care and compassion that we would expect our youth to receive from a mental health facility, especially during his experience of enduring such a dark time. It's extremely counterintuitive and counterproductive, and communication gaps such as these cause credibility gaps within the community, in facilities they we supposed to trust. My son was failed to be allowed to receive family support, and the office manager i asked to speak to informed me that the therapists are off work during the weekends, and that they would have to confirm who is added on his call list, further expressing that they are left with a dropped ball, and no way to correct their errors. With family on his call list, unrestricted, he simply should have been able to call family. No one in the family understands why the staff on the floor where he is at would not have access to his call list permissions, since they would be the staff members authorizing him to make a phone call. By the time you get this email, and respond, he will likely be released from your hospital, and the mental anguish and emotional damage will be done. But I would like you to be aware of these failures of the staff to communicate, much less decisively articulate the proper procedure to his caseworker, and the protocol of recourse, if they fail to do do. We are conveying this information, and all relevant details to our state legislators, with respect to the district, in order to have an internal investigation conducted into the ethics of the underlying business practices that have allowed this oversight to occur. In regard to a patient's mental health, it's negligence.

I went here in the summer(june) due to the hospital that i went to, i was sent here because of self harm, depression, and level 1 of being suicidal. My first 3 days here was like i was in prison. the first day there was… a riot in almost all the sections even the one i was staying in. the wait time to get emitted was insane, i got there at 4 am then waited till 7 am to even get a room. As someone who didn’t get any sleep the night i came in i would have like to rest. My second day i didn’t want to eat breakfast because my family isn’t a breakfast type of people and i got yelled at for it and btw if you do a single thing wrong you got yelled at for it. the second day i finally was able to call my dad, in which i asked multiple times to on the first day, and i begged him in tears to come get me and as he was still talking to me about how he was the lady who was there grabbed the phone from me and hung up on him. i walked away obviously upset and they didn’t do anything. the third day was when i was finally able to leave because i was “okay” when really i wasn’t but i was happy to get out of that place. I 100% wouldn’t recommend to send anyone here, unless you want them to come back worse. There was some staff who had a little care for me but it was mostly the patents who made sure i was okay when upset. There a bunch of rules in which some i could understand but as someone who needs physical touch(hugs mostly) to calm me down, the rule on no touching was hell for me. To get me to calm down they gave me a pill that automatically made me feel sleepy and made me pass out. Like i said i wouldn’t send anyone here.

Peace Hospital in Louisville, KY was just okay, but I definitely would not go back. The use of force felt unnecessary, especially on 3 North. There was one nurse who worked regularly and seemed to give shots for almost… anything, even when the situation didn’t seem serious enough to require it. The use of mechanical restraints was also concerning. If someone is in a behavioral hospital, they are already struggling, and strapping patients to a bed or chair felt excessive and unnecessary. My biggest concern was how room restriction was handled on 3 North. If you were placed on restriction, staff would take your bed as soon as you woke up—sometimes as early as 6:45 a.m.—and you wouldn’t get it back until around 7–7:30 p.m. You were kept in your room for a minimum of three days, even with good behavior. On top of that, staff would take your socks and sweatshirt, leaving you in a freezing room with nothing to stay warm. While on restriction, you were not allowed to speak to the staff member at your door, and if you did, it would be marked against you and could extend your restriction time. Overall, the environment felt more punitive than therapeutic, which was very disappointing.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ms. Griselda for the invaluable support and assistance you provided through the Medical Records department. Thanks to your dedication, kindness, and willingness to help,… my sister Shaunacy, she was able to receive the medical attention she needed in a timely and effective manner. I took my nephew to the peace hospital more like (Department Of Corrections Hospital) on December 9th 2025 just to get his medication regulated. They told me that he would be there for three days, then it went to seven… days so today is the seventh day and they won’t release him. Their holding him against his will and his constitutional rights have been violated! This is all a money grab for Medicaid‼️Their holding people against their will that come in voluntarily. They also threatened him that if they release him without a doctor’s consent, they will not release him with medication. So we agreed to release him without his medicine then they begin to say no, They’re gonna put him on a 72hr hold. They said they don’t feel as if he’s safe. He’s not suicidal he’s not confrontational.. It’s a lot of weird stuff going on at Our Lady of peace they need to be INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY‼️ For them to treat him or anyone as a HOSTAGE and he’s not a threat to himself or anyone else and they want to hold him and I’m quite Sure there’s a lot of people out there that don’t have family To speak up for them. They’re just holding them against their will even after their treatment plan is over to keep their beds filled. WORSE MISTAKE OF OUR LIVES‼️ They’re treating him like a PRISONER‼️ Instead of a patient they’re making his mental worse by holding him against his will. He checked in voluntarily, there was no court order. HE WILL NEVER RETURN ONCE RELEASED‼️‼️ I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BRING THEIR CHILDREN OR ANYONE TO THIS PRISON‼️ THERE’S NO PEACE HERE AT THE PEACE HOSPITAL‼️‼️‼️ THE ONLY REASON I GAVE THEM ONE STAR IS BECAUSE I COULD’NT GIVE A REVIEW WITHOUT A STAR, MY REVIEW I GIVE IS A ZERO‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️………..

The staff themselves were great aside from a few night shift people who were annoyed at any request. I was on 2E. There’s a heavy lack of communication between doctors and social workers. Dr.Kaiti forgot to discharge… me, and gave me three different release dates. The biggest issue with this place is the psychologists and how understaffed the hospital itself is. The psychologists don’t actually sit and talk to you. They go to every single surrounding hospital to talk to every single patient they have, so they can only talk to you for about 4 minutes. Dr.Kaiti was texting while talking to me , which was very unprofessional itself. I did not want medication and was prescribed it anyway, one of the nurses got snippy with me when I said I didn’t want it. 2 social workers , and 2 psychiatrists started their conversation with me by asking how the medication was going so it was a bit annoying having to repeat myself. The social workers I was assigned were nice, though. You also do not get to go outside the entire time you’re there, or get to go to the gym. At least on 2E you dont. The walls are thin and you can hear people from the floor above you. The groups they offered were very helpful , especially if you have other group members attending. David, Nelson, Lucas, Mary (white girl), magenta, Jordan, Ericka, and a couple others I cannot remember their name were very polite really made the stay less stressful for me. Their hearts and attitudes uplifted me majority of the time. I had great conversations with most of the staff members, and I can tell the ones I enjoyed really care about the patients and passionate about their job. Edit to add: something that sticks with me years after is how one worker left the door open for everyone to see me undressed in the main area. Or how one of the counselors yelled down the hall I was crying on my first day in. They also dead named a trans person that , to my knowledge, frequently visited. I was also booked with someone that was considered dangerous and shouldn’t be booked with. They put dementia patients, men just out of jail/prison, mentally disabled people and people like me who just have the big sad all on the same floor. Consider that before going in.

I want to thank Griselda Sansone from the Medical Records department for her kind attention this week when I went to the hospital. Thank you for your prompt service. I also want to thank all the staff who cared for me… during the five days I was hospitalized in March 2024; thanks to all their support and the wonderful hand of God, I am now healthy and looking to help others who are going through mental health difficulties. With much gratitude and love. Daniel Ventura Osorio

They talked my daughter into coming here, BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! They faxed me the papers to sign and I decided not to sign until I checked out the facility. When I arrived at this PRISON , I was in shock . I… immediately demanded they release my daughter . These people tried to blackmail me mail me . “If I insisted on taking her home they would put a 72 hour hold on her and the holidays and weekends don’t count so she would not be released til Tuesday . We were there on Tuesday , so they would keep her 7 days . This place needs to be shut down immediately . They tell the kids they are staying longer than they actually are just to mess with their heads , they threaten them in the elevators when they go for visit not to cry or ask to go home in front of their parents . I have never seen fragile children being treated this way. These children need to know they are loved and they matter not punished . Don’t be gaslit into thinking this is a hospital it is not it is a PRISON for mentally & emotionally challenged chlldren . . This place needs a state inspection right now . And not just a walk through they need to pull up footage from those cameras that are hanging on the ceiling and see what’s really going on here. They need to stop allowing these people to black mail parents into leaving their children there when it’s not a safe and healthy environment . Who ever can contact me and I’ll be glad to tell them of my experience if it will help get something done here . These evil people need to be stopped . They are not helping kids they are hurting them . Please don’t buy into the sales pitch it’s not a place anybody should leave their animals much less their children . If you love them take them away from is place . I’m taking my kid and we are NEVER COMING BACK TO PEACE HOSPITAL…

Do not send your children here if you care about them. My sister was sent here Tuesday from the hospital in London KY, she called us begging to get her out of there because she didn’t feel safe. The whole reason my… sisters mental health was bad is because she’s being bullied, well when she went in here all the other girls were bullying her and wouldn’t let her speak or talk to them because they “didn’t like her” . The staff is absolutely HORRIBLE. One of the nurses is extremely rude to my sister and my mom, she black mailed her, manipulated her, and gaslit her many times. My mom didn’t sign the consent forms because she decided she didn’t want my sister to go anymore and they still would NOT release her. This place is a literal prison and it is in no way helping anyone with mental health problems, it’s just making it worse. If your child is struggling with mental health issues please do NOT send them here!!!! This place needs to be shut down immediately . If you send your children in here they will feel punished for struggling with mental health, this “hospital” is Horrible and the way they treat their patients is inhumane.

I do not recommend this hospital for the mental health of a child. Please choose another hospital. They were rude to my daughter, and when she needed two blankets because one wasn't warm enough, they refused. There was… no therapy that helped her, and some staff members looked at her as if she were a dangerous animal, not a child in need of professional help. I regret choosing this place. 😢
