The register shows VA Maryland Healthcare System – Perry Point providing residential treatment. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

This review is based on my experience in 2023. For anyone who needs fingerprinting or a PIV card for a VA job, I had a much easier experience at the Wilmington, DE VA location. When I went to Perry Point for… fingerprinting, I had difficulty reaching the office and arranging an appointment. The phone number provided went to voicemail, and the email address I was given came back as undeliverable. When I arrived for fingerprinting, the office was locked. Fortunately, a very helpful gentleman was able to assist me. I also found the building somewhat difficult to access because of the stairs. When it was time to get my PIV card, I chose to go to the VA location in Wilmington instead. They had online appointments, a one-story building, and staff available to assist new hires. Based on my experience at the time, Wilmington was much easier for completing the new-hire process. Again, this reflects my personal experience in 2023, and procedures or accessibility may have changed since then.

As a homeless Veteran from Indiana leaving an abusive marriage I asked the VA for help for housing. I was on the list for a 1 bedroom apartment and was approved within 3 months with move in date 3 months later. I have… nothing bad to say about my stay there. It was a very nice experience for me from every angle. I was able to furnish my apartment with help from the VA and donations. I'm extremely grateful for all your help. Thank you Perry Point

I avoided using VA health for a long time after I got out of the military, largely due to all the horror stories I heard from other veterans. After paying some astronomical prices from regular health care providers in… the area, I decided to give Perry Point a shot, and I'm so glad I did. Perry Point VA health clinic has provided me with nothing but prompt, professional, and helpful care for all of my health concerns. I've been able to get appointments within a week or two at most outside of specialty care. All doctors and staff have been helpful, and always listened to my concerns. If you are a veteran in the area, I highly recommend this facility.

As a Veteran myself who recognizes privacy issues, I can't share names, but a family member has been staying here. Despite the poor rating of this VA Facility, he states that his treatment has been consistent, the staff… has been friendly, and the other patients get along well with no drama. What's sad is that so many veterans have no idea that this hospital is available for the treatment of PTSD, Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Bi-Polar Disease, Anxiety and more - for FREE. Meetings are available daily, and in addition to psychological assistance, medical physicians are available too. The hospital is spotless, you can choose the food you'd like to eat for 3 meals a day, and it tastes 😋 good. TVs 📺 aren't in the room, but they are in the Dayroom, along with pool tables, etc. It's even open to Veterans from other states. Sometimes it's difficult to admit the need for help, but hopefully, someone will take the time to read this and reach out.

Got hung up on 3 times trying to relay a message to my Doctor. Finally got through to a nurse who sent me to a Hospital that has been closed down over year. If you think these VA cuts are not affecting Veterans you are… crazy.

I love this VA Center. The staff are excellent! The Physician assigned to me is great. Whenever I have a medical problem, I get an appointment at a reasonable time and they listen to the symptoms I have and do a great… job getting to the route cause. The amount of time it takes for labs, x-rays, and MRIs is phenomenal. Words cannot express how thankful I am for their service.

My husband is a fully disabled Vietnam veteran. He's been in cognitive decline for 2 years. His primary care physician, Dr. Geminra (not sure of spelling), is beyond unhelpful. The inept "social worker" can't even be… bothered with returning calls. Perry Point should be shuttered, and the physicians with large egos and limited knowledge need to surrender their mediocre careers. Perry Point is an insult to veterans.

All the receptionist staff, doctor, nurse were the loveliest people and you can tell they really care about their Veteran patients.

I did inpatient for ptsd and certain staff at that time treated me terribly!! They were rude, made me get up after having a heart cath done and being in excruciating pain, always found ways to keep me on restriction… from going anywhere etc!! They made things worse for me! They did nothing to help me move forward. They then kicked me out of program on a Friday afternoon...late afternoon with no money and no where to go!! That's how they treat Veterans!!

I truly believe this is the Best VA for quick and effective care. Go in, neeed an x ray? Give them 20 mins. Need blood work? Come on in. The urgent care is also great. Grateful to have this close to home. And I highly… recommend this location. Good VAs are hard to come by.

I am currently trying to reach a patient advocate....and the call keeps stating no one available...…they were supposed to contact me since June 10,2024, and the VA wonders why Veterans have to complain to the White… House VA hotline, which is actually staffed 24/7

VINDICTIVE!!! The food & location are tops, but a foreigner nurse called VA Police on me because she "thought" she smelled marjuana coming from my room ( a lie because I had none). Subsequently, WITHOUT ME BEING THERE,… the same nurse conducted a " health & welfare search"; my new Bluetooth ear buds came up missing! Eventhough I made no OFFICIAL complaint, I did mention it to a supervisor, who responded with disbelief/ denial. Next time I needed rehab after surgery, they refused to accept me and I was forced to go to a homeless facility in Baltimore , because I was from out of state. Bottom line: if you go there, keep hold of your valuables & don't complain about anything! ( the physical rehabilitation team was tops as well), the nursing staff not so much AT ALL. Just look at other reviews from veterans and how many time the response begins, "I'm sorry"!! Lame.
