Valley Health Winchester Medical Ctr – Winchester (Linden Drive) Reviews
Questions worth keeping in mind while reading Valley Health Winchester Medical Ctr reviews: Was the assessment explained clearly? Were costs set out early? Was there a plan for after treatment?
Accounts that address points like these are usually the most informative.
I left a voice message in hopes of seeing a psychiatrist. They left a voice message for me to call and do an intake. When I called back, they said they were not taking any new patients. What was the point off them… telling me to do an intake?
If the staff here aren't being snobby and stuck up then they might be yelling at you when you have an actual issue and allow crosstalk when it is permitted. This is better than Winchester Mental Health Center but it's… also like ur picking the lesser of two negatives... That place will not teach you much while here you may learn more just at the cost of half of the staff who are nearly unbearable. My discharge papers didn't say anything about specific about doing a program for 6 months before I come back, nor did they tell me this before I was discharged and it seems as if they are just trying to keep me from the program when I have done nothing that could get me banned. The only thing I did was bring up concerns to the supervisor here and tell him how I and others were being treated in and even out of group by some of the staff. Sure, I complained about it a lot, but when you're in a crisis and have your assigned therapist during the first day back belittle you by saying "sooo we're 99% sure you have autism" the complaining should be understandable... Like no, you aren't gonna be the only mental health "professional" to diagnose me with that, you just don't like taking criticism like some of the other staff here and want to make others feel bad when it's been your own attitude at times that make others feel pushed away. And that's just the least of it, I've seen people cry bc of staff during group session and leave feeling worse because the staff were too blunt or abrasive When you come to a place like this where heavy mental issues are present, you shouldn't be yelling at people and berating them and making excuses as to why they can't come back. I've been struggling heavily for the past several weeks and they are not letting me back for reasons I've mentioned before and because "insurance won't cover it". That's bs. I've come to a Valley Health Hospital several times in the past few months for minor things and my insurance always covered it... I came 3 times to this program last year and after nearly a half year they are refusing to bring me back because they simply don't like me here. My therapist has tried contacting them several times and even though they said they would talk with him to try to get me back into the program it hasn't happened. Feels like they don't care and I feel discriminated against and it's such a shame people in this field don't take mental health more seriously like they should and such a shame there aren't more options for IOP programs in the area. 2 stars because there are some good staff members here who care and you'll learn and grow because of them but the communication that I've dealt with outside of those few (whether in group or not) has been nearly unbearable. Edit: dropping this down to 1 star because I have been denied care after not being there for a year for absolutely no reason other than they feel they can't help me. I lack words for this stupid cult-ish excuse of a behavioral health program that would rather shut people out and take concerns as attacks. They pick and choose who they let back too. Avoid at all costs.
The lady Shelia that answers the phone is a very rude person..And I missed 3 appointments and was told I would have to wait to see if my provider would consider taking back..
This program and the people there are absolutely amazing. I've been seeing them on and off for 5yrs, and they've always been so good to me and everyone else I've seen them encounter. The whole staff is full of the most… caring and attentive people, and I couldn't see myself progressing or healing as a person without them.
Make sure you watch the way this place bills you. They will bill your insurance as if you are visiting ER Hospital instead of visiting the Dr. This is over billing their patients. This place is in network for Cigna but… they bill you as if it’s out of network. Seems like fraudulent billing. Be very careful and watch the way they bill you very closely. The doctors and therapists are great though.
I went to this program for several weeks. The very first day I was honest with the therapist about my suicidal ideation and plans and she forced me to tell the group my plans. It felt like public humiliation. The whole… program and it's employees reek of fake positivity. I saw Dr. Rhoades for medication management and I spent several weeks begging her to please give me real anxiety medication for my severe episodic anxiety spells and everytime I was told to take more Seroquel, which just made me tired. I took way more Seroquel than is recommended in a short period of time due to this. The final straw was when I had the worst anxiety episode I ever had in my life and attempted to hurt myself, and the very next day when I went to group I was still denied genuine emergency anxiety medication. I was only told to take more Seroquel and to try ketamine (the nearest provider is in Reston and you are unable to drive yourself to appointments so it was unavailable to me). That day I had to go to inpatient and be hospitalized and the doctor there finally took me seriously and prescribed me Klonopin, which has given me my life back. Valley health outpatient would have rather me take my own life than be prescribed genuine anxiety medication for severe anxiety. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The reception staff was nice but if you had to miss group for any reason you had to talk to a therapist first. It felt like when you joined the program you surrendered your freedom.
10/10 Highly recommend. This program saved my life! It taught me so much about mental health and mental illness. The skills you learn and support you receive are top knotch. If you are at a low point and looking for… help, this is the place to be! All the staff are kind and positive. Very safe and relieving atmosphere!
Today was my exit from this wonderful outpatient program. If not for this program I probably wouldn't be here. Terri and Tim are fabulous therapist. It shows by their, caring, compassion, kindness and sense of humor. I… now have the tools to help me when my depression or anxiety try to get the best of me. Maybe as simply as just breathing, meditation, or talking to someone who understands. Thank you Terri and Tim for helping me more than you can imagine. Remember...you can't shovel last years snow. Time to move on and enjoy today.
This program is absolutely fabulous. I came at an extremely low point in my life, and Terri, Tim, Molly, and the other therapists were the best at teaching me tools to use in my everyday life. I have read a… not-so-favorable review here, and can only say that all therapy requires one to work and practice the tools provided. I found all of the staff to be compassionate and genuinely interested in my progress. Additionally, working with the other people in the group was very rewarding. I have made lifelong friends in the program, and at this stage in one’s life, it is hard to make good friends. If you are having mental health issues, this is the right place. Give it a chance and help yourself.
While still a new and developing program, I found it to be the perfect combination of psychological oversight and therapy. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating! I have always been able to schedule all… appointments for the following day. Group therapy sessions are very insightful, validating, and overall helpful in overcoming life struggles. I would recommend this outpatient program to anyone struggling with depression/anxiety or any other behavioral health needs.
