Treatment Centers in Arkansas That Accept QualChoice

QualChoice, an Arkansas-only insurer owned by Centene since 2019, covers drug and alcohol rehab on its employer group plans in all 75 counties and on its 2026 individual and ARHOME plans. Its two ARHOME plans, QCA Health Plan and QualChoice Life and Health, leave Arkansas’s Medicaid expansion after December 31, 2026, while employer coverage continues.

Phone numbers, levels of care such as detox, residential treatment, outpatient groups and medication, and any CARF or Joint Commission accreditation appear on each listing below. The source is government treatment registers plus Arkansas licensing records. Use the town and service filters, then ask whether the program is in network for your QualChoice plan.

Does QualChoice Cover Rehab in Arkansas?

Yes. QualChoice’s member handbook says it follows the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, so substance use coverage on plans with mental health benefits is designed to match medical coverage. Benefits vary by plan document. QualChoice members can find programs that take their plan among the Arkansas drug rehab programs listed below.

QualChoice is two licensed Arkansas companies: QCA Health Plan, Inc., an HMO that underwrites POS plans, and QualChoice Life and Health Insurance Company, Inc., which underwrites PPO plans. Both belong to Centene, which completed its purchase of them on April 1, 2019. In Centene’s Arkansas line-up, QualChoice is the employer group brand.

Does QualChoice Cover Inpatient Rehab in Arkansas?

Yes, with pre-authorization. QualChoice’s provider manual says every inpatient, partial inpatient and intensive outpatient service needs pre-authorization, substance use included. Inpatient addiction care runs under Centene’s CP.BH.100 policy, which covers ASAM levels from medically managed inpatient care down through residential treatment programs at levels 3.7 to 3.1.

Does QualChoice cover residential rehab?

Sometimes, and the plan decides. QualChoice’s provider manual says residence in a residential facility is typically not covered, but care from providers inside one may be covered with pre-authorization when it replaces acute or sub-acute inpatient care. QualChoice ARHOME plans, through 2026, cover residential substance use treatment as part of the full continuum.

Does QualChoice need prior authorization for inpatient rehab?

Yes. QualChoice’s pre-authorization list includes inpatient and residential substance use treatment and mental health IOP and partial hospitalization. In-network providers request it through the My Account portal; when the program is outside the network, the member is responsible for it. Care received without a needed approval may leave the member paying the full cost.

Does QualChoice Cover Detox in Arkansas?

Yes. Centene’s CP.BH.100, posted on QualChoice’s site, covers withdrawal management at ASAM level 4-WM and requires withdrawal scales such as CIWA-Ar and COWS when medication manages withdrawal. Medical detox taking insurance counts as an inpatient admission under QualChoice rules, so it needs pre-authorization before or at admission, like any other inpatient stay on a QualChoice plan.

Does QualChoice Cover Outpatient Rehab in Arkansas?

Yes. QualChoice treats initial outpatient therapy programs as medically necessary with a treatment plan, and standard outpatient visits are not on its pre-authorization list. QualChoice requires no referrals, and its Teladoc telehealth service, at 1.800.835.2362, is available around the clock for non-emergency medical or mental health needs outside office hours.

QualChoice’s substance use policy defines intensive outpatient taking insurance as 9 to 19 hours a week and PHP programs taking insurance as 20 or more, and both need pre-authorization. Continued outpatient therapy depends on documented improvement, capacity for more and the member’s cooperation, according to the provider manual.

Does QualChoice Cover Suboxone, Methadone and Other Addiction Medications?

Yes. QualChoice’s substance use policy treats medication-assisted treatment with counseling as standard care, names methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, acamprosate and disulfiram, and sets no arbitrary time limit on how long a member stays on medication. Express Scripts runs QualChoice’s pharmacy benefit, and addiction treatment medications appear on its August 2026 formulary.

Does QualChoice cover Suboxone?

Yes, in generic form. Generic buprenorphine-naloxone, in film or tablet form, is Tier 1 of QualChoice’s August 2026 formulary with a quantity limit and no prior authorization shown, while brand Suboxone film is non-formulary. For Sublocade programs taking insurance, the monthly injection sits on Tier 3 as a specialty drug.

Does QualChoice cover methadone?

Yes. Methadone is on Tier 1 of the QualChoice formulary with quantity limits, and the substance use policy covers certified opioid treatment programs. Federal figures from 2024 show Arkansas methadone treatment clinics only in Pulaski, Crawford, Saline and Miller counties, so QualChoice members elsewhere should plan for travel.

Does QualChoice cover Vivitrol?

Yes. Vivitrol, the monthly naltrexone injection, is a Tier 3 specialty drug on QualChoice’s August 2026 formulary, and naltrexone tablets are Tier 1. Vivitrol programs taking insurance are listed, and generic naloxone sits on Tier 1 with a limit of two per fill and two fills every 30 days.

QualChoice Rehab Centers on the Spring River, on Mount Magazine and in the Ozark National Forest

QualChoice serves all 75 Arkansas counties, so a program in the hills or on a river sits inside its service area. Network type still matters: QCA HMO and POS plans need in-network providers for full coverage, while QualChoice Life and Health PPO plans pay out-of-network care up to the Maximum Allowable Charge.

QualChoice rehab on the Spring River

The Spring River flows out of Mammoth Spring near the Missouri line, past Hardy and Cherokee Village in Sharp County before joining the Black River near Pocahontas. QualChoice members looking at rehab programs near rivers or downtown Pocahontas programs should ask the program whether it is in the QualChoice network before admission.

QualChoice rehab near Mount Magazine and Petit Jean

Mount Magazine in Logan County is the highest point in Arkansas, and Petit Jean Mountain rises above the Arkansas River near Morrilton. Rehab centers near mountains and downtown Morrilton programs follow QualChoice’s pre-authorization list for any inpatient, residential or partial hospitalization stay, the same as programs in Little Rock or Fort Smith.

QualChoice rehab in the Ozark National Forest

The Ozark National Forest covers the Boston Mountains north of Clarksville and Ozark, with the Mulberry River cutting through Franklin and Johnson counties. QualChoice PPO members drawn to treatment near national forests or Clarksville rehab options can use an out-of-network program and pay the difference above the allowed charge.

How Do I Find a Rehab That Accepts QualChoice in Arkansas?

Browse the listings on this page. Programs here all accept QualChoice, and each entry names a phone number, its levels of care and any accreditation held. Private insurance rehab programs include those that bill QualChoice employer plans, so raise your plan type when you call, since POS and PPO plans pay out-of-network care differently.

Before a QualChoice member is admitted to inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization or IOP care, the program asks for pre-authorization. Customer Service answers benefit questions at 800.235.7111 or 501.228.7111, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., TTY 711. The table shows each QualChoice line and its status.

QualChoice rehab in Little Rock and central Arkansas

QualChoice’s Central Arkansas office is at 1001 Technology Drive in west Little Rock, and its pre-authorization page lists a dedicated team for Dillard’s employees, reached at 1.855.823.2252, separate from the general Customer Service line. Members in Pulaski County can compare Chenal Valley rehab programs with Argenta treatment programs.

QualChoice rehab in Fort Smith

QualChoice runs a dedicated pre-authorization team for City of Fort Smith employees, at 1.855.823.2248, so a city worker’s residential or inpatient request goes there rather than to general Customer Service. City and other QualChoice members in Sebastian County can browse Fort Smith recovery programs and treatment in Van Buren.

QualChoice rehab in Northwest Arkansas

QualChoice has no Northwest Arkansas office listed; members in Washington and Benton counties are served through 800.235.7111. Its POS and PPO plans cover the region like the rest of the state, the PPO paying out-of-network care up to the allowed charge, and members can compare north Fayetteville programs with Johnson treatment options.

QualChoice rehab in Conway and Searcy

QualChoice ARHOME members in Faulkner and White counties keep coverage through December 31, 2026, and DHS has said no action is needed yet, because it will reassign them itself and explain the next steps. Until then they can use Vilonia treatment programs or downtown Searcy rehabs.

Can I use QualChoice for rehab in a different state?

Yes, through the QualChoice National Network. A member travelling outside Arkansas calls 800.235.7111 for network providers, and covered services from those providers are paid at the in-network level. The member is responsible for making sure pre-authorization is in place, and emergency care is covered in and out of the service area.

How much does rehab cost with QualChoice?

QualChoice costs depend on the plan. Its 2026 group POS plans charge 20 percent coinsurance in network on Platinum and most Gold plans, with out-of-network deductibles about double and coinsurance of 40 to 50 percent. In-network providers cannot balance bill, while out-of-network providers can bill above the Maximum Allowable Charge.

QualChoice members leaving ARHOME will need a new plan for 2027, and the remaining ARHOME plans are reported to be Octave, Health Advantage and Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. DHS moves those members automatically. Arkansas Medicaid rehab coverage and the statewide Medicaid program pages show programs that accept Medicaid plans, each with its levels of care.
