Drug and Alcohol Rehabs in Scotts Valley, CA

Scotts Valley sits in the Santa Cruz Mountains above the coast, between Santa Cruz and the summit on Highway 17.

Hiram Scott bought the rancho here in 1850. The valley holds an archaeological site with evidence of human occupation going back more than 10,000 years, among the oldest in coastal California.

The town incorporated in 1966 and the redwood ridges around it were logged to rebuild San Francisco after 1906. The 2020 CZU Lightning Complex burned close to the western edge.

Highway 17 runs through, putting Santa Cruz around ten minutes south and San Jose half an hour north over the summit.

California recorded a drug overdose death rate roughly 6 percent below the national figure in 2024.

Methamphetamine was involved in around 57 percent of California overdose deaths that year, more than any other substance, while fentanyl drives the opioid share.

County rates in 2024 ranged from 11.3 per 100,000 in Napa County to 91.5 in Lake County, both in Northern California.

Santa Cruz County participates in the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System, live since January 2018, which covers a full continuum of care assessed against American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

The counts below reflect the 1 Scotts Valley facility listed in this directory.

Medically Supervised Detox

Detox manages withdrawal under clinical observation, usually across several days, and is where treatment begins for anyone physically dependent on alcohol, opioids or benzodiazepines. The Scotts Valley facility does not offer detox. Santa Cruz has two ten minutes south and Watsonville one to the south-east.

Inpatient Residential Treatment

Residential care provides a structured live-in setting for weeks or months. The Scotts Valley facility does not offer it. Santa Cruz has three ten minutes south.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Outpatient care lets you live at home while attending sessions. The Scotts Valley facility offers outpatient services and IOP with medication-assisted treatment. It does not offer PHP; Capitola has the only one in this part of the county.

Dual Diagnosis and Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

Dual diagnosis care treats a substance use disorder and a mental health condition together rather than in sequence. The Scotts Valley facility does not currently indicate it treats co-occurring disorders, which is worth establishing directly. Five Santa Cruz facilities do.

Sober Living Homes and Transitional Living

Sober living homes provide drug-free housing after formal treatment ends. This directory does not list recovery residences separately. The California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals certifies residences statewide.

Addiction Treatment Cost and Insurance Coverage

The single facility here accepts TRICARE but no other public program.

How Much Does Addiction Rehab Cost in Scotts Valley

IOP in Scotts Valley runs roughly $3,000 to $10,000 a month and outpatient $1,200 to $5,000, both available locally with medication-assisted treatment. Detox, residential and PHP all mean a short drive, at $7,000 to $24,000, $6,000 to $45,000 and $7,500 to $15,000 monthly. The Scotts Valley facility accepts TRICARE but not Medi-Cal or Medicare.
