Top Glassell Park Drug and Alcohol Addiction Centers

Glassell Park lies between Highland Park and Atwater Village, on the hills above the Los Angeles River and the Verdugo Wash. It is named for Andrew Glassell, a nineteenth-century landowner and lawyer. We work to verify listings against SAMHSA records, California DHCS licensing and any Joint Commission or CARF accreditation on file. Details change between checks, so confirm anything decisive directly. What is currently listed for Glassell Park appears below.

Drug and Alcohol Rehabs in Glassell Park, CA

Glassell Park lies between Highland Park and Atwater Village, on the hills above the Los Angeles River and the Verdugo Wash.

It is named for Andrew Glassell, a nineteenth-century attorney who held land here, and it developed as a mixed residential and industrial district along the river and the rail lines.

Rio de Los Angeles State Park opened in 2007 on part of the former Taylor Yard, a Southern Pacific rail facility that once covered more than two hundred acres of the riverbank — one of the larger pieces of land returned to public use along the river.

The neighborhood is predominantly Latino and working class, with hillside streets above and light industry along San Fernando Road below.

San Fernando Road, Eagle Rock Boulevard and the 2 freeway connect it, with Downtown LA fifteen minutes south.

Los Angeles County recorded 2,298 accidental drug overdose and poisoning deaths in 2025, a 6 percent fall from the previous year and the third consecutive annual decline, according to the county Department of Public Health. Deaths are down nearly 30 percent from the 2022 peak of 3,220, driven by a more than 40 percent reduction in fentanyl-related deaths.

The county’s own analysis found fentanyl overdose death rates nearly four times higher in its least affluent areas — those where more than 30 percent of families live below the federal poverty level — than in its most affluent, at 39.1 against 10.0 per 100,000 in 2024.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

Los Angeles County holds around 609 listed treatment programs, 286 of which accept Medicaid and 35 of which are licensed opioid treatment programs — by a wide margin the deepest publicly funded provision in Southern California. The city of Los Angeles alone carries around 137. Counts come from the federal SAMHSA treatment locator.

Medically Supervised Detox

Detox manages withdrawal under clinical observation across several days. The city carries around 26 detox programs, 18 of them residential detox and five hospital inpatient, of roughly 122 across the county.

Inpatient Residential Treatment

Residential care means living on site for weeks or months. Around 39 residential programs operate in the city, of roughly 222 countywide.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Outpatient care lets you keep working while attending sessions. The city carries around 99 outpatient and 30 intensive outpatient programs, with six licensed opioid treatment programs providing methadone.

Dual Diagnosis and Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

Dual diagnosis care treats a substance use disorder and a mental health condition together rather than one after the other. Around 54 city programs treat co-occurring serious mental illness, of roughly 187 across the county.

Sober Living Homes and Transitional Living

Sober living homes provide substance-free housing after formal treatment ends. Certification of California recovery residences is by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals rather than the state.

Addiction Treatment Cost and Insurance Coverage

Industrial and trades work brings physical injury, and prescribed opioid analgesics for a work injury are a recognized route into opioid use disorder.

How Much Does Addiction Rehab Cost in Glassell Park

Outpatient care across the city runs roughly $1,200 to $5,000 a month and IOP $3,000 to $10,000, with detox at $7,000 to $24,000 and residential at $6,000 to $45,000. Around 72 city programs accept Medicaid, 44 run sliding fee scales and 86 provide services in Spanish.

Medi-Cal covers medication for opioid use disorder with no premium and no copay, and Los Angeles County carries 35 licensed opioid treatment programs — more than the rest of Southern California combined.
