Common questions about Fire Mountain

Answered from what is listed here.

Which neighborhoods near Fire Mountain have treatment listed?

Bonsall carries listings close to Fire Mountain, Oceanside, and it is the neighboring place to look at first when nothing in this pocket of San Diego County fits. East Side and San Luis Rey sit nearby as well, with Fallbrook and Guajome a little further inland, so the search rarely has to move far from the address people start from.

Rehabs in Bonsallhttps://rehabseekers.com/locations/us/california/southern-california/oceanside/bonsall/
Are sober living homes listed in Fire Mountain, Oceanside?

Sober living homes are listed in Fire Mountain, Oceanside, alongside detox, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and standard outpatient care. Telehealth appears too, which some people in San Diego County use while living in a sober living house.

Is there rehab for pregnant women in Fire Mountain, Oceanside?

Treatment for pregnant women is listed in Fire Mountain, Oceanside, and the same providers cover detox, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care for people who need a structured weekday schedule.

Medi-Cal, TRICARE and private insurance all appear among the accepted payment routes, and childcare is flagged at some addresses in this part of Oceanside.

Drug and Alcohol Rehabs in Fire Mountain, Oceanside, CA

Fire Mountain sits on the hillside at the southern edge of Oceanside, east of Interstate 5, running down to the Carlsbad line.

For most of its history it was not Oceanside at all. It was called North Carlsbad — roughly 338 acres of avocado and citrus groves, an unincorporated pocket of San Diego County entirely surrounded by Oceanside city limits.

Oceanside annexed it in the 1960s. The name people use now comes simply from the road running through it.

What the groves left behind is unusual for a coastal neighborhood: large lots, mature trees, wide streets with no sidewalks on many blocks, and ocean views from the higher ground.

The housing mix runs from mid-century homes to custom builds and a handful of estates that kept their acreage. Locals sometimes call it the Pacific Palisades of Oceanside, which says more about the topography than the price.

Getting here means Interstate 5 and the Cannon Road or Vista Way exits, or Coast Highway if you are coming up from Carlsbad. There is no transit worth planning around.

San Diego County recorded 340 fentanyl-caused deaths in 2025, down sharply from 802 in 2022, and overdose deaths fell 21 percent between 2023 and 2024 — a third straight annual decline.

Methamphetamine has been the county’s longest-running concern, addressed through a Methamphetamine Strike Force operating since 1996. Meth and fentanyl together account for most accidental overdose deaths across the region.

Which Level of Care Do You Need

Fire Mountain is quiet and residential, so treatment means a short drive rather than a walk. The figures below come from the federal SAMHSA treatment locator and cover Oceanside plus Carlsbad and Encinitas, both within about fifteen minutes down the coast.

Medically Supervised Detox

Detox manages withdrawal under clinical observation across several days, and is where treatment starts for anyone physically dependent on alcohol, opioids or benzodiazepines. SAMHSA lists roughly eight detox programs across Oceanside, Carlsbad and Encinitas, of about 39 countywide. Three of Oceanside’s are inside city limits.

Inpatient Residential Treatment

Residential care provides a structured live-in setting, usually weeks to months. Around ten residential programs sit within a fifteen-minute radius of the hill. Encinitas carries five despite its size, and Carlsbad three — this stretch of coast has a heavier residential concentration than its population would suggest.

Outpatient, IOP and PHP Treatment

Outpatient care lets you keep living at home, with intensive outpatient asking for three to five sessions weekly. Around eleven outpatient and six IOP programs are within easy reach. Partial hospitalization is scarcer — roughly two nearby, against about 30 across San Diego County.

Dual Diagnosis and Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

Dual diagnosis care addresses a substance use disorder and a mental health condition together rather than one after the other. Around nine programs within reach are listed as treating co-occurring serious mental illness, six of them in Encinitas alone.

Sober Living Homes and Transitional Living

Sober living homes offer substance-free housing after formal treatment ends. Few appear in federal listings because California recovery residences are certified by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals rather than licensed. Coastal housing costs make Vista and inland options more realistic for most people.

Addiction Treatment Cost and Insurance Coverage

Fire Mountain sits in the part of North County where public coverage thins out and self-pay dominates. That shapes cost more than anything about the neighborhood itself.

How Much Does Addiction Rehab Cost in Fire Mountain

Outpatient care near Fire Mountain runs roughly $1,200 to $5,000 a month and IOP $3,000 to $10,000. Detox sits at $7,000 to $24,000, residential at $6,000 to $45,000 and PHP at $7,500 to $15,000. Coastal programs in Carlsbad and Encinitas skew heavily toward private pay.

The split is stark and worth knowing before you call. Eight of Oceanside’s nine listed programs accept Medicaid. Across Carlsbad and Encinitas combined, none do. If public coverage matters, stay north of the hill or head inland to Vista.

Standard rehab and detox, Fire Mountain and the coastal North County market

Does Insurance Cover Rehab in Fire Mountain

Yes. Federal parity law requires most health plans to cover substance use treatment on terms comparable to medical care. Within fifteen minutes of Fire Mountain, around eight programs accept Medicaid, four accept Medicare and five accept TRICARE — the last mattering in a city bordering Camp Pendleton.

Private health insurance is accepted widely along this coast. Medi-Cal is not. That single fact reroutes more people in North County than clinical fit ever does, and it is the first question worth asking on any call.

Free and State-Funded Addiction Rehab in Fire Mountain, Oceanside

San Diego County delivers publicly funded care through the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System, which places people by assessed clinical need rather than postcode.

An address on the hill does not change what you or someone you care about is entitled to.

The County Access and Crisis Line on 888-724-7240 is free, confidential and staffed around the clock, and will assess and refer countywide. Dialing 2-1-1 reaches the same network.

Roughly 43 San Diego County programs run a sliding fee scale. A New PATH distributes free naloxone and fentanyl test strips at access points across the county under county contract.

More Help and Recovery Support

Tri-City Medical Center sits about five minutes north on Vista Way, serving Oceanside, Carlsbad and Vista. Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is fifteen minutes south. Palomar Medical Center Escondido, the only designated trauma center in northern San Diego County, is around half an hour inland.

Alcoholics Anonymous runs daily meetings across Oceanside and Carlsbad through the San Diego Central Office, with dozens available on any given day. Narcotics Anonymous operates through the San Diego–Imperial Counties Region, and Al-Anon holds family meetings across North County. SMART Recovery adds secular alternatives.
